Hi guys,
I've been trying to flash a stock TPA firmware to my ARO g9600 and it's been a while since my last flash (about 2 years)and my first snapdragon device (it has the OEM unlock) my question is, do I need to check this option and go through the CROM (whatever that is) to finally flash a new firmware? Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance

Hi,
I followed this post to update my Note 8 to Oreo. I didn't read it carefully enough to realize that its firmware is N950U, which brings all the good bloatwares and carrier firmware. Now, I would like to revert back to Nougat 7.1.1 with stock/pure Samsung firmware. Before messing my phone up, the baseband version was N950USQU1AQI5. My phone's carrier is XAA (the phone is factory unlocked). I have looked everywhere to find this firmware but the only one I find that is XAA is N950U1UEU1AQI5, which is for the U1 models not U (mine is N950UZKAXAA).
Can some one PLEASE help me get rid of Oreo and this carrier firmware and restore my phone to the original firmware it shipped with?
i think Oreo might have the bootloader v3, so you probably cant go back to what it shipped with (bootloader v1 or v2). You might be able to flash BRA5 and whatever was right before it (which is 7.1.1) because that did have the v3 bootloader.
I think U1 is for the unlocked model, so I'm pretty sure thats what you'd want to be flashing.
1. Download SamFirm
2. put in "SM-N950U1" for Model and "XAA" for region
By the way, I think this is the wrong forum for the Note8
I'm sorry, i don't know what you are talking about.
Any chance you could help?
Hi,
I have a Samsung Note 8 Tablet, GT-N5110 that's stuck on the Samsung logo.
Any chance you could help me revive it?

Hi All,
I've just returned from China with an A70 (A7050), it's got the stock Chinese firmware on it. I wanted to flash it to Hong Kong firmware to get gapps,etc. My knowledge of doing this is the sum total of nothing and I'm having problems after trying to follow a few guides I found online;
I've downloaded the firmware and Odins
I've populated BL, AP, CP & CSC (used the Home_CSC not the CSC) in Odins
Hit start and got a fail due to OEM lock
Found a guide on how to remove the OEM lock, bootloader now unlocked
Repeated the first steps above
Now get a fail "SECURE CHECK FAIL : abl"
I'm struggling to find information on how to proceed from here or am I just being a total potato and missing something easy?
Any help is appreciated
Have you been able to fix this?
I'm interested how this turned this out for you.
Hi, I forgot to update here but yes I was successful. For reasons I don't understand it wouldn't take the latest HK firmware (the Chinese was the latest at the time). When I tried the earliest HK firmware available it went straight on (and later updated itself).
Did u unlock the bootloader or did u just switch on OEM unlocking?
Hello,
I just bought a galaxy note 10+ N975F, but the bootloader is that of starwars on and off, and I don't like it at all. Is it possible to simply remove it permanently? (via Odin or other solution)
I have already tried several times to flash the last official XEF update (France) on it, but nothing can be done, it still remains.
Thanks for your help

Probably you need to unlock bootloader in order to change it (a file inside the BL partition must be edited) unless a firmware for other region comes with a different boot-splash if someone else can confirm that.
Thank you. Normally the XEF ROM stock does not have a starwars boot loader. I am currently stuck on the NEE firmware, even by flashing the XEF 5 times in a row it remains on: NEE/NEE/NEE/NEE. So if I understood correctly if I root my phone and try to flash the XEF again, will it be good? Thanks

Well, in case you are sure that flashing other different firmware it will solve the issue, you don't need to root it or unlock it, official firmware can be flashed normally, you have to choose from inside the CSC different from the CSC_HOME, this will wipe some preferences and will be a fresh start.
It could be also that the XEF firmware contains the same boot splash animation, probably I can check it if you can upload in some place the file param.bin.lz4 that is inside the BL partition file that you'll find from inside your firmware.
Just thinking, is not from the carrier?
I just got a galaxy s10+ from a friend who was on Tmoblie so it has the Tmoblie loading screen and apps. I would like to revert it back to the firmware CSC code XAA so I dont have to have the Tmoblie boot screen and apps. He didn't buy it from tmoblie its from an insurance company so I am pretty sure its unlocked. The app "Phone Info" says that Firmware's CSC code is XAA and the active one is TMB. I have tried to put in the *#272*IMEI# code into the phone but it just gives me an error code.
Is there anyway to revert it back to XAA without flashing the phone? Will I void the warranty if i flash the phone with official firmware? Also if I have to flash the phone where do I find XAA firmware as I only saw carrier firmware on SamMoblie.
Thanks for any help and very sorry if this has been posted a thousand times!
Also the phone model is SM-N975U / Galaxy Note10+
Device Type: d2q
Product Name: d2qsq
Bootloader Version: N975USQS6FUF1
CSC Version: N975UOYN6FUF1
Phone is on Android 11
I just flashed the phone and it all worked out. I used these threads to figure out the solution if anyone else is ever interested in how I solved this problem.
Note 10+ N975U carrier universal and unlocked models firmware.
Yep. I'm going to download the files just in case ,but wait a few days to see if anything happens.I'm curious if that was your issue all this time .

And I used this very kind user on Androidcentrals help. The context of my question is not needed but I basically asked if I was choosing the correct files.
"Yes use the firmware from frija , you will also need prince comsey patched Odin which download from XDA website, this will factory reset your device for first time , choose XAA as region with model number from unlocked version. (He is refering to the model number SM-N975U1) Put the device in download mode and make sure using a good cable and try 7zip to extract the firmware, odin, frija ...then after extract the the firmware you going take for files Cp/CSC,Bl,Ap and put in corresponding slots in odin and flash"
