Interesting. Could you also post a screenshot of the call settings to show that advanced calling is present? I'm also wondering if your SIM card will eventually cause your current IMEI to show up in your AT&T account? (not sure if that's even possible?)

WHOA. I just checked my call settings to compare, and I have it there as well! It has never been there as long as I've had this phone since July!? Could one of the last two updates added it? That's crazy, but I have it too! When I first received my phone, I had just inserted my SIM card from my HTC 10 and wasn't sure which IMEI my account would recognize.
Whoa, so I didn't even call AT&T but after updating to 1.25, suddenly VoLTE works. I tested by making a call and LTE was still active according to statusbar signal. Also running speedtest during the active call indicated I was actively on AT&T LTE connection (and the speeds themselves didn't lie).
Again, I didn't even call AT&T. Weird, but I'll take it!
Have you all managed to keep VoLTE working on At&T? How about Wifi calling?
I'm asking because i have an HTC 10 that is dying (drains normally to 95% battery, then shuts down and on being plugged in thinks it only has 1% charge, untilt unplugged, replugged, 93%).
I'm looking at either the U11 or the U12, the U11 because it seems like there are fewer issues with rooting it and getting a custom rom on it, but I also see people saying VoLTE isn't working on At&T, so this is something that makes me lean towards the U12 (which it seems might be tougher for rooting and adding a custom rom).
VoLTE definitely works with AT&T on the U12+, but Wi-Fi calling does not.

Thanks, I ended up deciding against the U12+, and went with a Pixel 3 XL, and I'm jumping ship to Fi.

You do not need root for surfing without wifi. You only need network data enabled and internet connection from your mobile carrier.
And what kind of instruction do you need ?
You just need mobile data enabled. (settings - connection tab - mobile data)
That's it.
You need the same to surf when not in a call also.
No
Short Answer is No. Not until Sprint which I am assuming is your carrier enables VoLTE. We do not have two antennas like GS4, GS3 and a few other sprints phones. Hope that Helps

Thanks. Now i wish i wouldv just stayed with my s3
It might depend on what variant and carrier you use, but I do believe it is possible on the G3. I just gave a call and mobile data a try simultaneously on my unlocked UK 16GB D855 (on Three UK) and it worked. Signal is kinda weak at my house which may explain the data speeds.

4G works perfectly for me while on a call - just tried it.

I have a USA version by Verizon and on the lock screen at the bottom is an "Emergency Call" button. Anyone know if this can be removed and where the setting lives?
I know I could change lock screen apps with a launcher, but I don't want to at this time so I wonder if this is cooked deep into the OS and only a root function can kill it off.
I've only ever seen thsi if there's no SIM inserted, or if there's no service. It's not there in normal use. Not for me anyway. Never has been for any device.
Least you think I was BSing you can see 4G and cell signal (so SIM card is installed) and ..... emergency call button on lock screen

Hmmm...that's very weird. Never seen that on any device before. Is it a carrier branded device? Can only think it's a carrier mod? Or perhaps a requirement in the country/state you're from?
Verizon.. USA as per first post. Actually, when I Google this, it is not that uncommon but people - like me - hate it. So far I only see root and then mod as an option (which is not yet available) or a different lock screen app (which I don't want to do). I see no setting to turn it off in the Lock Screen settings area.

I can confirm on my LG G2 AT&T variant (running an international variant rom port) it shows this "emergency call" button with knock code enabled. No way to disable it that I am aware of without root. Hopefully this will come soon!
I would guess it is a safety feature when the device has any type of pin/knock code/pattern. It lets someone dial emergency numbers like 911 without knowing the code.

That's too funny that you actually took the time to explain what it is for and what it does ha ha captain obvious
But anyway, SO many phones don't have this, I don't want/need it.
solution to your problem
This link has the answer to your problem. Have same featue on my US LG phone.

Havent accidentally called 911 but i have on a few Samsungs
I came from a Nexus 5X on Fi and wanted to make it known that I had zero issues running service on my Xperia. As long as you have the app installed and the sim card in everything will work as intended. Fi will claim that the phone cannot be used for service but most likely the phone will only use TMobile if it's unable to truly switch between networks, which is fine. When sending messages in Hangouts it'll note "Sent via Google Voice". Calls over WiFi and cell work well. Couldn't say I've tested out switching between cell and wifi but I would assume Android takes care of that.
One important thing to note as far as I know you will not be able to start Fi service on an Xperia you must have a Google phone or the Moto X4 to activate a Sim card.

So if I understand it right, this is essentially the T-Mobile network (less volte) for Google Fi pricing/plan, correct?

For the most part, plus you get the great functionality of being able to use Hangouts for calling and texting from any device. It's basically Google Voice with T-Mobile cell service. From my experience though where I live I almost exclusively seemed to be using T-Mobile every time I checked when I was on my Nexus. Fi doesn't seem to activate the VoLTE option, nor does it for wifi calling in the Android Dialer. I am on the international version firmware however so that may be part of the issue. Using Hangouts Dialer for calls does work however over both cell and wifi.
Also forgot to mention, all the APNs and everything were already set up when I put my SIM in prior to the first start. Looking around in the mobile networks menu it seems Android and/or Sony's software is capable of switching preferred networks automatically.
so how has ProjectFi bee nworking for you on your xz1 compact?
Has anyone been able to enable RCS messaging on T-Mobile in the Google Messages app? When I go to Chat Features under Settings it says: Chat features unavailable for this device. Your carrier does not currently support this feature.
Mine is working perfectly. With T-Mobile. I set the phone up last night.

Thanks for confirming. It was working on my 8 Pro, but I guess you are supposed to disable it on the old phone before sticking the SIM in a new phone. I didn't do that. I disabled it through Google's link, but still not able to enable it on my 9 Pro. I've done everything I can think of besides a factory reset.

I get a new phone every month and I've never had to disable anything on the previous phone to get RCS to work properly. Sometimes it takes a couple hours to finally start working. Also gotta make sure you have any vpn turned off initially as well

Yeah, I never have had to do that either, but it was in the troubleshooting, so I tried it. No VPN here.

Yeah, I'm not sure why it didn't work. I ended up returning the 9 Pro for other reasons and RCS was working again as soon as I put my SIM back in my 8 Pro.
I can confirm RCS does work on T-Mobile. I can't, however, get it to work on my OP 9 Pro. I did disable it on my old 7T, but the SIM in it was deactivated already, so I dunno if that mattered or not.
I've noticed my phone struggles with RCS messages when it goes from 5G to LTE. I have to basically disable data or restart phone and that usually fixes it
Hi all,
Some months earlier, I was able to use call forwarding on my airtel SIM in galaxy F62 for voicemail purposes
But now, it just doesn't let me use supplementary services in SIM SLOT 1 like call waiting and forwarding... though Sim Slot 2 is letting me forward the calls...

PS: I used alliance shield X to open IMS settings once and I am not sure if that was the reason supplementary services not working in Sim 1

May be your shield x broke call supplementary setting. Just backup your device and do a factory reset. If doesn't work the you need to flash system with ODIN

Thanks for the reply, but I inserted my SIM in my mother's phone and the Supplementary services didn't work either..
So I guess the problem lies with SIM only..
Is there some setting or something from where I can just toggle those services on and off ? Or should I contact my telecon operator?
