Hi, I've been referred to this forum for help with rooting. I've heard that rooting the Tab Pro to Nougat will help the tablet run better, have better battery performance etc.
I've been looking through the forum and I haven't been able to find a thread containing a step by step guide to do this. I did actually find a website with a guide but I was suggested to not trust the site and come here instead. Never rooted before so I am not entirely sure with what I'm doing.
Any help or linking to a relevant thread would be great.

I really want to root it but im not a a techy type, but i know how to follow instructions. I just need a step by step on how to root it & the files needed. I do not know how to work with command promp. so please tell me all the commands i need to put in step by step so i can understand. thanks. please help & sorry for being so dumb on these things :\

Honestly, not trying to be a ****, but all the answers can be found very easily if you just look at all the posts that are stickied in this forum. One of them will have the answer you're looking for. If you still can't find it, then you probably shouldn't have posted to begin with.

Been there and done that and understand where you are coming from. I actually followed the following link and it was VERY useful as it is expalined step by step http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=754669
As far as the ROM he uses I cannot tell you if it is good or not but if you "flash" (unzip) [ROM] SLIDE-Reloaded v1 [9/16/10] Sense 2.1 this one it is similar to what you have now and you can slowly ease into other ones once you get used to using your phone.

im a new user on android, the thing is that i bought my new htc desire a day ago, and i found out that it doesnt support arabic, it only shows font but not complete words... i heard that there has been found a solution but on rooted phones, my phone version is 2.2,
i would really like to be guided through this, and for instance what is rooting the phone and CM7 and CM6, i also tried searching and i found cyanogen; the website; a good source if i decided to hack my phone to support arabic,
i also would like to know if i can return my phone to factory settings if i decide to after i hack it ? and how can i backup ?
Do you think that if i install cyanogen would be better than the platform that comes with the phone from htc ?
i also knew that ps1 games and others can work on my phone and it has to do with emulators... which is the best emulator and where to download the games from ?
and any other information u might add that might help me would be great

Read and Follow this for a complete guide on how to root to flashing, its pretty simple and this guide will help you a lot and it has videos too to make it more simpler to understand.

This is the tutorial I used to ROOT, and everything worked perfect.
Also before you ROOT be sure to make a Gold Card.

You can go back to your original STOCK ROM with and original RUU, which you can download from here: http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Bravo
Be sure to check your version with the one you download. From Phone go to Settings->About Phone->Software Information and check Baseband Version and Software number.
After you ROOT you can also make a back-up from ClockWorckMod Recovery, which is automatically installed when you ROOT. Also a good back-up application is Titanium Back-up (back-up app, settings etc.).
To run PS1 games you can get FPse app from market.
TO GET THE GAMES IF FORBIDDEN IF YOU DON'T OWN THEM!!!!

What I meant about games is that you can't ask warez questions here. If you have the apk for android then all you need to do is get the image of the game. This one only you know how and where to get it. GOOGLE.
I think it is good to ROOT your phone since after you root you have a lot more options of what to do with your phone.

You are currently asking the same questions I asked myself many months ago. Basically, it will all depend on what you want to do with your phone. If it will just be a phone, then there's no need to root it. On the other hand, if you plan to change every single aspect of how your phone looks or behaves, then rooting and "S-OFFing" should be done to it.
Just be prepared for headaches that you might experience. I know there are guides throughout this forum. But not everything will go smoothly. If you do decide to install another ROM, start with a well-tested and stable firmware, then experiment with bleeding-edge ROMs once you become more familiar with troubleshooting.
One more thing: enjoy the adventure! You will love it!

Hi all. I've been around a long time, in and out of Android. After just coming from an iPhone and the flashing ROMS seems a bit confusing to me. So far as of now, I unlocked my bootloader and now looking for specific instructions on rooting and flashing my e6883. If anyone can please provide just that, I can be back on my own again. I just don't know where to look... Oh, my Z5P is running latest 7.0 with March security patch.

It's in the "Guides, News, and Discussion" section. If you're having difficulties finding a straight forward guide listed on XDA, perhaps it is in your best interest not to customize at the moment in case you run into an issue and then end up not having a phone for hours to days due to not being able to find an answer.
Just looking out for you.

I too could not find a guide specifically on creating a ROM for the Pixel XL. I even searched, I was going to post a link for OP. Maybe the google AOSP page might help. It sucks that CyanogenMod is no longer around. They used to have good guides.

You will also need the vendor and driver file from https://developers.google.com/android/drivers
First - make sure your bootloader is unlocked - that should be an easy enough guide to find
then TWRP
then find a rom and read through the opening post and the recent ones.
though I'm sure i've found guides in general here for the pixel.
it IS a different beast to regular though. so get familiar with the sticky guides etc on the forum pages
