Hello, can anyone help,
I was reading an ebook, there was a setting, which changed the page colour to Amber, I can't find thepis setting to revert back. I have " reset" the device, but the amber back ground is still there. It's on web pages too. It's not the night setting either.
What are using to read the book? What app?
Would it be under SETTINGS -> DISPLAY -> BLUE LIGHT FILTER?

How do I turn on the LCD light to flash constantly? I'm so use to this with all my phones. I tried everything and can't seem to find it.
Also guys, how do I change the back ground to black? I want EVERYTHING to be plan black. When I put the background black it still navy blue!
Ive been wondering the same thing, too. [regarding the backround.] With the LED light, are you talking about having it constantly blink for messages? because there's a setting that you can change to allow the LED light to blink for X amount of time...
Yeah to make it blink! I want it to blink while their is no message and where their is a message.
hmmm. the setting i found is to make the LED blink longer or shorter FOR the message.. im not sure if itll do it without the message. that might a RegEdit.
What's the setting you found? My LCD doesn't blink at all.
Settings > Personal > Sound and Notifications > Event: New Text Message
and then itll bring up the settings for it..
Play sound : select sound
Display message on screen
FLASH LIGHT FOR: 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 45, 60 minutes.
there ya go.:]
Yeah I got it now thanks.
I wish their was a way to keep it blinking with another color to show you have no messages. I so use to this with my BB 8900! Green for no message and red for when you have a message. Oh well!
Is there a way to get the notification light to blink all the colors it gives me as far a options b/c it only blinks red & no other colors? I have went through the stock text app, handcent, email to change the settings but they all blink as red.
I tested this yesterday and recommend Light Flow from the market.. there is a lite version that's free and you can test out the LED light. We only have Red, Blue, and a combination of both of them that looks like Magenta. You have to set it to Green in the app for Magenta..
I saw another post on this, but couldn't get it to blink at a regular rate. No matter how I changed the flash led setting, it would stay lit for a long time and eventually blink, only to resume again. Do you have settings that allow it to flash quicker?
Thanks.
I tried the light flow app which it worked to get the light to flash but none of the colors worked but some how it disabled my email notification light.
I am using Light Flow but have been seeing a yellow notification light and there is nothing that it is notifying. I am not positive, but I think I saw the same color notification before loading Light Flow.
I can not figure out what this is notifying me of and in Light Flow I don't have anything notify me in yellow.
Anyone know what's going on with the light?
I have the same issue as well. Even after I uninstalled light flow it remains.
You need to go into whatever is set for yellow, and find the setting that removes notifications. I had yellow set for google talk, but the notification light would go off until I physically opened the app, even if the notification was removed from the status bar. You can set it so that the notification light disappears upon turning on the screen.

Yea, I uninstalled the app, when I did have it I did use the setting you mentioned but it didn't help.
It would be nice for Google to build in something like Light flow into the system Nativity that wouldn't be so buggy.
Hi Guys,
This is my first post so apologies in advance if this is not the correct place to ask this question or if I don't particularly explain the issue I'm having properly.
Something incredibly annoying and frustrating is happening with my display every night. I notice that around 7pm each evening, my phone will go from a nice crisp looking display to one with a yellowish/warm hue. It's as if my blue light filter is on but when I check, it's definitely off. I turn it on and nothing changes with the display, but when I turn it off, the display goes back to how it previously was. I am currently using the adaptive screen settings, auto brightness turned off, and blue light filter turned on with the customer schedule of midnight to 9am. I've also tried turning off blue light filter altogether but still run into this issue. It keeps happening every so often in the same night even after I've "corrected it" using the method of turning on and off the blue light filter.
Is this to be expected with the adaptive screen mode? I love how vivid and bright it is during the day, but despise the yellowish tint at night. Could it be possible that the blue light filter is somehow turning on by itself even when I've turned the feature completely off?
I appreciate any assistance. Samsung tech support was not particularly helpful and told me to go to Costco where I purchased it from and return it.
Thanks,
Cam
Have you tried configuring the color balance in the Display settings?

Thanks for your reply. I haven't tried that yet because I figured it didn't matter what setting I adjust it to as the display would automatically change in the evening anyways.

It's strange that even you already turned off Blue Light Filter, it's still making it dim. I find the dimming helpful since it doesn't strain the eyes at night. You could try reflashing the software for the phone.

I agree, but I would like for it to be turned on later such as 1 hour before I go to bed.
At 7pm PST this evening (about 15 min ago), the screen regained it's yellow tint again. I turned on the blue light filter, then turned it off to get it back to how it was initially previous to 7pm.
The Samsung support rep asked me to factory reset my phone, but that didn't work either. Would that be similar to flashing the software? I can certainly give it a try but was just wondering if the factory reset essentially did the same thing. I'm really not sure what this could be.

It's the custom schedule for the blue filter. You can change it in display settings.

This does not fix it. I have my custom schedule set to enable at 8:00 and disable at 8:01 but it still turns on at 7pm.
Finally figured it out!!! Go to Google Play Books. Open a book and tap the screen to find the letter A. From there go to settings and turn off the night light. Whew! This has been bothering me for months!! Hth!!
I'm having the exact same issue except I've turned off/on the blue light filter a million times and it doesn't fix it.
I also don't have google play books installed so it's not that. I've tried messing with every "display" setting but nothing fixes it.
My phone did this same thing a couple months ago and when I woke up the next morning, the display was back to normal. Now it just did it again but even though its a day later, my display is still all messed up (not as bright and crisp, has a yellowish hue to it).
Anyone got any other ideas or does this sound like some kind of hardware issue?
I had the same problem specially when I go to sleep at my dark bedroom, my phone is Samsung Note 8, and I just found the solution. Turn your phone to the otherside, look at the main Camera, mine has two cameras, a flash, and a rectangle black sensor at the end. I covered this sensor with a thick black paper that I found from a brochure, taped it in place, and Wala ? no more screen dim.
WOW

This has been bothering me for more than a year. I had to get a free book to try it out. Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much!!!
Has anyone noticed their screen occasionally looking slightly warmer (more yellow) than usual? Not sure if it's after the recent update or if its always been there..i think its the update.
SM-960F here
Display mode - Adaptive. But I'm comparing just the notification shade.

That is probably a result of the blue light filter. It turns on automatically at 7 pm. You can change its settings in display

Thanks for your reply but its not that. I checked.
Do you notice it in certain apps? There's also a "video enhancer" feature under "Advanced features" - try turning that off to see if it changes anything.
The one other way I notice the screen temperature change is in bright light - under Brightness, you can control the "screen mode" - adaptive is default, which means it automatically switches between cool and warm depending on what you're doing and where you are (in the sun, for example). Take a look at the settings there, because you can customize it a lot.
Edit: I see you said you are on adaptive, so you probably already looked at these. Have you tried making it a set setting rather than adaptive?
Try turning off auto brightness.
