LGSmartCover and Mirrorlink stopped working after LMY47D update

LGSmartCover and Mirrorlink stopped working after LMY47D update via Lg Bridge on a rooted device which had twrp before updating. I had updated via lg bridge before without any problems. I've seen some people with the same problem in this tread http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4-h815-internacional-v10c-firmware-t3172621/post62228220#post62228220
but no solution it seems. I tried clearing the data of these apps but it didn't work. any body managed to solve it?

Hi to everybody
i write from French
i have lg g4 H815 ( europe model)
and the same problem with mirrorlink and apps quick circle
after the upgrade sw to v10C with lg bridge with windows 10
i tried everything, hard reset, factory reset
normal flash with lg flash tool to versio v10b
but nothing, the problem remains
bad problem 'cause everytime i start my g4 i see two times the message:
"mirrorlink stop working"
so 10 minutes to find gps for google maps
and everytime around ten icons disappears from the screen
for now, i can't make work lg support tool for an CSE flash
to go back to version v10b
lg support tool stop working after install drivers and connect my g4
i see @jan-sgs have solved the problem
You or somebody can tell me how to solve this bad problem?

I see is out 2 new firmware version for g4, v10E and v10g
Only for saudi Arabia (Erirati arabi)
It' compatible with europe g4 version?

I've solved my mirrorlink problem like this
I have G4 europe H815, brand vodafone
Search in this site kdz vodafon file
There's very few files kdz vodafone, not found for italy
I find in this link posted by a great guy here

I can't, anyway, it's the list of kdz files here on the 3d "go back to stock G4"
I've download "portugal vodafone v10b"
It'real 10b, not 10c as some called 10b
Normal flash with lg support tool
And the vodafone 10b was in my g4
Automatically i find OTA update for v10c, 330mb
After the update with ota
The problem mirror link it's solved
So, you have mirror link problem after kdz file v10d?
Or problem after OTA update v10d?

But i solved mirrorlink in this way
Go here in the Forum at the section for G4:
G4 General- [Guide] LG G4 Stock Firmware (Go Back to Stock) KDZ & TOT Method by hyelton
In the middle of the post there's:" KDZ Firmware Files; HERE"
Click HERE
A link will open with some kdz files for G4
Download kdz before v10d
Important, your g4 is brand or no brand?
You have choose the right kdz for your G4
If you have H815 europe, try d.load these kdz file:
Europe General H81510B_00.kdz 1697378KB Jul 06 2015 04:43:29 PM
Or kdz files of your provider, if there's in list
As most of v10b kdz, it's not v10b, but v10c
Good for you 'cause you have v10d
Run lg flash tool 2014
Put kdz file
Select CSE flash
Leave all the others fields as they are
If Cse flash don't work, do normal flash
At the restart, you'll find v10c
And 99% find the Ota update for v10d
Before the Ota update do a hard reset
At the restart, run the Ota update v10d
And see if mirrorlink works
If not, with lg bridge run "fix update error"
Don't do with lg bridge the software update, this will put mirrorlink error
If you have windows 10, maybe Cse flash will not work
No prob, normal flash work back to v10b-c

Yes I comfirm my g4 is h815 unbrand.
I found the kdz v10d for France it's my actual version.
I'm ok with the process : lg flash tool.. question if I use normal flash it's necessary to make hard reset or not.

The point is to go in downgrade, v10b or C
If you keep kdz file v10d, i think the problem remains
Your G4 is no brand, so in the link if kdz files try d.load the file kdz i've posted above
With flash tool try normal flash
So you have v10c, then accept the Ota v10d
And see if mirrorlink is solved
If not, do hard reset
Then with Lg bridge do fix errors update
I'm italian but i live in France like You
In this time is almost impossible download flash tool and drivers
Many french sites in these days have put in web around 50 virus

Well mirrorlink is hard to solve
I've done the steps to solve m.link by my idea
Can't found nothing on web
I don't know if you have patience to make again all the steps
You said you update with Lg bridge after downgrade v10c
Only my opinion, this is the mistake while I'd m.link problem
I said in my previous post:"don't do with lg bridge the software update, this will put mirrorlink error"
If you want to retry
Downgrade v10c, wirh cse flash, then wait the OTA update, not update with lg bridge
The best way is downgrade v10b, like i did for vodafone
But v10b no brand kdz is hard to find
It depends what problems create m.link at your g4
If it's only the message at start, it's not bad problem
In my case, many icons of app on screen disappears
I hope is not your case
Just value the problem, only a message, it's not so bad
As you said, with a new update the problem should be solved

It's my guess, but i think mirrorlink problem will persist for those, who has unlocked bootloader and ignored LG warning that some apps, based on DRM will stop working

I'd unlocked my vodafone bootloader
And so here mirrorlink problem
It's strange that i've solved with downgrade and Ota update, but not @jellysteve case
Mirrorlink is useful if you have a modern car that fit with
If like me, i have a modern car not compatible
The error message m.link can be ignored
I must fix 'cause many icons of apps disappeared at start
But it seems icons problem, happened only for my G4!
Then, with windows 10 i can't do cse flash
So i go back to Win 7, and cse flash works

I started to face this problem, but my H815 fully stock, no unlocking, no rooting. And I wish it to stay that way for now... So the only solution for me is wait for LG to fix that?

Weird thing, I uninstalled quick circle apps, quick remote and quickify, and the problem seems to be gone

no, I'm not rooted, bootloader locked. I started having this issue when I started experimenting with various apps for quick circle case.

Hello, maybe my solution will help for you too. Ive got h815, locked bootloader with low effort root.
Ive installed super manager app with root permissions. In the app go for the system folder, when you trying to enter switch system folder to r/w (the app automaticly asks it). Go to the priv-app search LgCover folder and rename the app inside of it with .bak extension. Reboot the phone.
After that repeat the process but you should remove .bak from the end of the app's name (back to the original) and reboot again. Mine started to work without any issues. I guess that will work with the mirrorlink app. Location of the app: system/app/MirrorLinkServer folder. You should do the same thing with it

LG G3 Got Stuck on Frimeware Update Screen

It had lollipop before. I've never rooted it. I was trying to update it to Marshmallow by LG PC suite. LG pc suite stopped working and phone got stuck at %17 of updaitng. Power button didn't work. I had to remove the battery. I opend it is on Frimware update screen at %0. How can I save it ??
I looked it up but couldn't find anything or understand anything

I snooped the LG Bridge link for the USS998, changed my user agent to Google Spider and was able to download it to my PC -- while LG Bridge was still downloading the update for my phone.
However, that link does not work automatically like yours does. When I pasted it back into any browser it now gives me dead connection. I DO have the file and I uploaded it to mirror. Just curious why YOUR LG Bridge link works and mine only worked one time?

Change pkg3 to pkg2 on the beginning of the link Found this trick on YouTube. When you do that it shouldn't even need useragent changing.

I was stuck on 10f but with December security patch. Flashed 10v and it had November one... Then thanks to kind reddit user I got link to this 11m which has January patch. Now I don't have to worry about this Spectre/Meltdown vulnerability.

I have just downloaded the H930 update on my phone v11m.
I am rooted and have recovery installed. how can I install the update? When the phone tries to restart it just boots into recovery without installing the update.
Is there a way I CAN update to this?

You cant install this update inside TWRP.
Only with LG Tools.

I only have a linux pc and LG Tools will not run on that OS

I create successfull a twrp zip for 11m.

Follow this guide and you will be able to flash it to your H930. Root will be lost and you're gonna have to root again.

As I previously mentioned, I do not have a windblows machin e or Windows install disk for a virtual machine..

Right now I'm on 10f because of this reason. 10v is not rootable (atm)

I want to downgrade my lg g3 with android 6.0 V30N to root it, but how can i downgrade it? methodes i tried didnot work... LGUP Lg flash methode (last time it worked but not anymore..).

LG Flash Tool 2014
D85530B_00_1217.kdz (V30b)
Kingroot V5 (Root)
You must switch off the device to start the process.
Then press and hold the “Volume Up” and connect the USB cable from phone to PC.
Use the original USB cable. Because, other device’s cable may not be detected in the Computer.
Wait for the driver installation on PC.
Then you will get the download mode screen in your phone.
On PC start LG Flash Tool 2014
Choose D85530B_00_1217.kdz press Normal Flash-start-ok.
When it is compeleted, start your phone and install Kingroot V5 (get Root)

Which G3 are you using? D855 ? Kernel still 3.4.0 ?
Does your "last time it worked" mean that you already installed something (eg TWRP) on the G3 or are you talking about another phone?

Comment: are you on MM or you want to DG to MM ? ( i suppose you want to rollback to earlier MM release, considering you have no custom ROM, you won't have android N or O )

normally.... i do mind my own business however, i recently wanted to enable root and add/flash TWRP ( custom recovery ) on my D855 ( lg g3 on LP ) and hit few quirks with boot unlocking ( amid a patched boot ); searched the internet to resolve "secure boot" error, ending up with finding out at least two posts on XDA, with tutorials, were time consuming and eventually with broken links to the required files. In the end... i followed historical memory ( and my gut Instincts could guide me ) then found a simple APK to "add to" / "install on" my handset and to flash what i wanted ( booting custom recovery. )
to cut the story short... i won't place a guide or tutorial here however i believe all you need is in the links below.... bare in mind HacerPermisivo may be optional ( search XDA and the net to find out what it does and if it suits you ), also SharpeningFix ( should you opt-in for flashing custom recovery too. )
some files linked below may be suitable for D855 only ( You were warned )

Problems updating my G7 ThinQ

Hello, I'm new to this device and I'm just having troubles with it. I bought a branded LG G7 ThinQ and then, back home, I decided to flash stock firmware (no brand apps and so on); no troubles: it works perfectly. The Firmware I flashed was update to May security patch. Later, I found out that a new versione was released and I tried to update via OTA. No updates found. Then, I download LG Bridge on my PC and searched for updates. It found an update and I confirmed the flash, but unfortunately, the update process stops after downloaded the firmware and sideloaded to the device. LG Bridge now gives me an error saying that it can't be updated. What's the problem for you? My system version is V10b-222-01 and the build is OPR1.170623.032. I forgot to say I've already tried to flash the firmware downloaded through LG Bridge with LG UP with no results.

It's completely normal that you can no longer receive updates ota by changing firmware. It's the reason I decided to keep the tim branded firmware on my thinq. As for the lg bridge update, maybe it notices a discrepancy between your build number and/or fingerprint and your system version and so blocks the installation. I'm mostly guessing here, I'm not an expert. You might try going back to your branded firmware and see what happens.

I have the same problem, LG G7 thinq SW Version V10b 222 01. It's the original version, I didn't flash any other firmware.
