Hello All,
I just read an article, Lineage OS 16 will be available for HTC 10, and I guess it will be Official Lineage OS 16.
Link of the article is below,
https://www.google.com/amp/s/alldroidtips.com/lineage-os-16/amp/
Regards
That would be awesome, but unlikely to happen assuming that there is no 15 or 15.1 for HTC 10

Do some reading there in the LOS threads you would have seen some posts that there are indeed devs working on 16 for the 10.......
any post with the title "Lineage OS xx: Supported Devices, Release Date & Features" is usually total BS, they base their guesses on whether or not the device got the previous version of LOS.
Also, unless LOS 16 could work on O firmware, you would have radio issues.

Explain that please ? Why would it have radio issues.....is this an assumption ? Have you read the comment from fagyi that all the basics will work except tweaks and customizations, i myself consider the radio under basics. I think you guys need to read more instead of making assumptions.
Just because the radio issue is present between the Nougat and Oreo firmware doesn't mean it also exist in the higher firmwares from oreo and above. The issue didn't exist with the marshmallow and nougat firmware so i have the idea you base your opinion on your own lack of Intel ?
Cheers

yes when you install a rom with incompatible firmware requirement it seems to **** up the radio and home button. i would assume that the same case would also apply if you install a Pie rom on O/N firmware UNLESS the Pie rom supports the O/N firmware.

Yes but up to this point it's only between Nougat and Oreo so i would not assume this for other firmwares. Have you been reading in the LOS threads by now, it holds valuable information. Please read well.

Anyways, except radio issues (if such present), fagyi faced with woofer issue, soooo....
It's interesting how people talk about BS in such an easy way...we have no official LOS 15.x but someone guess we will have official v16 and also makes separate thread to advertise his own blog

Long story short, I'm looking for the most stable and refined custom ROM for the MZP. I'm currently using Alberto97's AOSP 8.1 and while everything is working fine, it isn't really that refined. As it is ported from what I guess is the Google Pixel, the OS thinks that the device is a Google Pixel. For example, when I set up the device, it shows the banner "Finish setting up your Pixel". Also, when I register my fingerprint to unlock the device, the setup shows to use the index finger and touch the sensor located on the rear of the device (like the Pixel's). Charging with the phone powered off is also bugged, as it shows nothing but "Charging ??/100". I know these may seem like small things, but I'm a person with extreme attention to detail (almost borderline OCD) and things like these just bug the hell out of me, even though it isn't the devs fault at all (mad respect to Alberto).
Basically, I want a custom ROM that is MADE for the device, not ported. If you guys get what I mean. Polished is the word, I guess.
Seeing as LineageOS 14.1 is officially supported, do these cosmetic flaws exist? Can any LOS users confirm this? I apologize for bugging this sub with my stupid questions, I just want to settle with my phone once and for all.
Thank you to all for your help!

Hi there,
None of the cosmetic flaws you said exist on the official LineageOS 14.1 ROM. I'm using it for several months now and it is certainly the most polished ROM created for this device.
By the way, I've tested weeks ago Alberto97's AOSP 8.1 and it was a weak experience. It wasn't optimized as I expected, some of the animations were jerky and I noticed multiple bugs.
I definitely recommend using LineageOS 14.1 ROM if you want a good experience. Also, I recommend using 7.1 ROMs instead of 8.0's/8.1's. They are way more stable and optimized.
If you have any question, feel free to ask.

Oh yeah, that's bad.
You should post a message regarding this issue on the Official Lineage 14.1 topic to make the developper aware. I think that's not hard to make the bootloader compatible, it should be some parameters to change

I contacted the maintainer and he said it's not as simple as that, as there may be incompatibilities with a bootloader from a different Android version. We're messaging each other for the past few days and he sent me a test build. The flash succeeded, though we are unable to make it boot up.

I asked him yesterday but he said that it's against rules to ask for ETAs (even when I only asked him if it would come out, I didn't ask when :/)
Read the thread, one user already posted his email address here, though don't even try to ask him stuff like that again as surely he will link that to me.

I have sideloaded the Oreo OTA on stock firmware.

I already asked him if it was in the works and he said don't ask for ETAs. I asked him again today and told him I wasn't asking for a date, just a confirmation if LOS 15 is in the works. We'll see what he says.
EDIT: So it counts as an ETA then. He said we'll just see it come out (so I guess it is in the works). But I wouldn't worry that much, the dev works really fast.
and yeah, I like a ROM that was made for the MZP as well. As much as I like Alberto's ROM, a ROM built from scratch > a port (though LOS 14.1 is Alberto's work as well). It's a pity he quit development of it.

Install instructions
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/bacon/install
Upgrade from official Lineage OS 14.1 possible but as usual clean install is better. Good time to wipe that phone clean.
Please update TWRP to the latest. If you have this device and don't know how to install please follow above procedure.
If you have device encryption enabled, consider removing as its a bit touch and go. As usual always have a full backup and separate copy of your data/pictures.
And the caveat you are responsible for what you do with your device applies and no one else is responsible for your action. People may be able to help if you ask kindly.
Official channel released finally on the 18th of July 2018.
Super effort by Devs specially jrior001, so please donate if you can.
PS I am just making this thread as there is none and it was released atleast 6 days ago and in no way taking any credit for the ROM or the work done by DEVS.

Kernel
Is anybody working on the included Kernel?
The background of my question is that I am experiencing spontaneous reboots when physically leaving a Wi-Fi connection, particularly my home Wi-Fi.
This defect was present in LineageOS 14.1 as well. There I could solve the problem completely by installing the latest Franco Kernel. However, in LineageOS 15.1 the Franco Kernel leads to very frequent soft reboots, like 5 in one hour, so I am now back on the stock kernel.
The only workaround I know is to disable Wi-Fi before leaving a Wi-Fi area, then re-enabling it.
Before other users jump in and state that they don't have this defect, not everybody has it. It is not clear under which conditions the defect shows up. It may depend on certain apps being present. But obviously it is not the apps' fault, as the fact proves that the Franco Kernel resolved it in LineageOS 14.1. Not to mention that no app has the right to reboot the system.

For Performance you only need to Know Some Kernel settings.

Hi Friends
I have been using crDroid 7.1.2 on Zuk Z2 plus for last 1 year almost. Tried a few ROMs at that time and settled with crDroid. Did not get much time after that due to hectic work schedules.
Now, I am planning to upgrade to a stable Oreo Rom. AEX and Jaguar seem most popular, but I would experiment with few others like crDroid as well.
However, I have few concerns and doubts where I would request your guidance and help. I did some research myself and went through lot of threads but still some questions remain:
1) I face two irritating issues on my phone. Not sure if it is a device issue or ROM or baseband issue:
a) While on speaker on a call, the person on the other side cannot hear me clearly. My voice is extremely distorted.
b) Same happens on call recordings even without being on speaker. My voice is totally distorted in all call recordings.
So, someone suggested me to update baseband by flashing ZUI 1.9 and subsequent versions. My current baseband is 1.76 Indian. Multiple doubts on how to go about doing this safely and efficiently:
a) Do I need to flash complete Chinese ZUI ROMs in this sequence? 1.9 -> 3.5 -> 4.0? Does the 4.0 ZUI support VoLTE?
b) How to flash these, QPST, TWRP, QFIL - See different options mentioned in different threads.
c) Also, saw some directly flashable baseband zips without the need to flash ZUIs or to flash baseband 1.70 chinese first.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/le...oreo-firmwarebaseband-twrp-flashable-t3776254
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-zuk-z2/how-to/baseband-radiomodem-z2-plus-twrp-t3749988
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75584934&postcount=9
Which is the latest and most stable baseband version. I understood that the baseband version number doesn't change but there are updates on each version of ZUI.
How to fallback to 1.76 Indian baseband in case something goes wrong.
Please suggest what is the best and safest approach. Not much awareness of usage of QPST, QFIL etc. Used TWRP before for flashing ROMs. Do not want to end up bricking my device.
2) If I flash these Chinese ZUI ROMs, I guess the bootloader will be relocked? I have the unlock_bootloader.img which I originally used to unlock the bootloader. Guess, that can be reused to unlock it again. Just wanted to confirm, no other complications here?
3) About Treble and Non Treble TWRPs and ROMs, which one is preferable? After flashing the Chinese ZUIs or directly flashing latest Basebands depending on outcome of point 1, I believe I will have to flash the latest TWRP (Treble / Non Treble). Also, accordingly I believe I will need to change the partition name: Factory2Vendor ?
4) Which ROM and Kernel combination would you suggest. Priorities are No bugs, good Battery life, VoLTE, Less heating, Smooth UI and customizations like in AEX / crDroid / RR etc. Gaming is not priority.
Also, in my current crDroid Nougat, although Magisk Hide, hides the root from most apps but some apps like Google Tez, Microsoft Intune Company portal etc detect the root and does not allow usage. I need to have my official mailbox setup via Microsoft Company portal and Outlook. Which is not allowed on crDroid Nougat with Magisk but works fine on my Moto G running on Lineage OS 7.1.2 (Unrooted).
5) Finally, anything else which I might be missing or not considering? Please suggest me high level steps for the above. Specially for point 1.
Kindly help.

Request some inputs please. Planning to do this today, so kindly help
I didn't read the whole post as it is really long.
But I understood it is about baseband.
You can flash the baseband and other firmwares from zui 4 without any problem via twrp itself.
But as far as I know 1.76 also works pretty well.

Thanks and Sorry for the long post. Not only about baseband, but I want to upgrade to an Oreo Rom.
Someone suggested to change the baseband as well as I am facing following two issues:
1) If I put the phone on speaker while on a call, the person on other side cannot hear me clearly. Extremely distorted voice.
2) My voice is very distorted in all call recordings.
So, I thought I would try updating the baseband by ZUI chinese flash incrementally.
Kindly check my main post and suggest the steps.
Also, if the chinese baseband doesn't works well, how can I come back to 1.76?
But as you suggested the latest baseband can be directly flashed using TWRP, shall I flash this:

Keep the same baseband and update to oreo.
Arrow os 8.1 might get updated tomorrow try it.
Have you done the factory to vendor zip flashing process?

No. Not yet. Still on Nougat old custom rom from last year. If I have to flash ZUI then Factory to Vendor has to be done later I believe? That's why waiting to get more advises from this thread before deciding the course of action
This is my current setup.
This rom used to give excellent battery life and deep sleep earlier but now loses lot of battery overnight. Always awake

Don't flash zui.
Follow this guide
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-zuk-z2/how-to/z2plus-treble-roms-flashing-reverting-t3778287
Then you can install both treble and non-treble roms.
If you want to go back to zui then you can qfil without any issue.
Cheers

Never quote OP.
Hello Everyone
Since I haven't flashed any custom ROM on my device in a while (I didn't like Pie much), and I am pretty bored with OOS 5.0.8 now, I would like to roll back to Nougat OOS 4.5.1 build. I've heard from multiple sources that Nougat has much better battery life and usual UI is more fluid that Oreo ROMs. Also, a user has intrigued me by saying that games in general perform much better than oreo builds.
So, I would like to give it a shot. But, I've found out so far that it isn't as easy as flashing the OOS build on top of 5.0.8. Many websites claim that I need to flash some special nougat build that will downgrade me to nougat and then I can flash OOS 4.5.1.
So, if anyone has rolled back from 5.0.8 or 5.0.7 to Nougat before, can you please guide me through the process?

That's the guide I also have gone through which advised to download the special build. Now the issue is that special build link is not working anymore. That's why I can't proceed with that one

Yeah sorry i was the one who posted that there. I did some digging on google yesterday and found that. The thing is, now i just need to have assurance from someone who did it on 5.0.8
That guide is old af and the original poster don't even have a oneplus 3 to test it.
OP changed few things with latest firmware and i hope it won't mess with my partitions if i flash the special build. This is my primary phone so, want to be sure before I do this procedure

Why don't u backup your existing data elsewhere and try flashing the nougat build because I am sure there will be quite a few of them who might have rolled back to Nougat.

You still didn't read my last post properly. I have no issues if it formats my data partition. I'm concerned about the other partitions. I don't want to corrupt my partition table because of downgrading to a lower and older firmware. That's all my concern is.
Was on Omni 8.1 > then Leaked OOS 9.0 build > Official LOS16 > then downgraded to special Nougat build > and now on OOS 4.5.1 with latest Magisk build & Tolyan's last Gcam 5 (1.015 final fix version) release.
No issues with partitions or modems/firmware.
Only back up your data and internal memory as they will be wiped out.
