Does any else has an issue with the G7 where the volume is so low that you can hardly hear it even though it's on full volume. Videos YouTube etc. So you restart the phone and volume is then back to normal. ???? Not happening all the time but is definatly an issue.

Yes, I also had a similar issue with my new LG G7. The problem is the sound comes from earpiece instead of the speakers. Not sure why. A restart fixes the issue but it happens again.
Were you able to fix it or is it still happening ?
Same problem
If I use any pair of head sets I almost can't hear the volume I'm about to return yhis over priced phone. My lg g4 was better. I even tried a volume booster that works great on all my other phones but does nothing on this phone.

I've noticed that sometimes the max volume of the ringer isn't what is normally the max volume.
I think there is something on the phone that is altering the volume, then when you exit that app, the phone thinks that the lower volume is now the maximum volume.
For example,
I boot the phone and volume is ok.
I run the FM radio, and lower the volume.
I then turn off the radio, and return the phone to max volume.
The max volume is now nowhere near where it used to be, and doesn't go back to normal until I do a reboot of the phone.
I'm not suggesting it is the radio doing this, its just an example, I need to try all my apps to see what might be doing it.
Anyone else experienced this? Maybe its an easy fix, or am doing something wrong myself.
Edited to add:
This is something to do with the radio. Phone on max volume, plugged in the headphones and launched the radio. Lowered the volume using the rocker. Unplugged the headphones and went back to the home screen. Tried increasing the volume and already as max, but much lower than it was before launching the radio.
I had a similar experience last week, the volume on the notifications was so low I could barely hear it sitting at my desk with the phone in front of me. But I rebooted and never saw the issue again. I do use the radio, so maybe it's related.
i to have knoticed this, ive turned the volume down for something then its also turned the ringtone volume down
I mailed support about it.
Also managed to crash the phone just by maxing out the ringer, plugging in the headphones, then lowering the ringer. The volume adjustment window just stayed on screen and didnt respond to pressing the rocker, even though I could see the sound profile widget changing in the background to vibrate and silent when i reached those points. Removing the headphones didnt do anything, with headphone icon still showing in notifcations bar.
Tried to reboot, but wouldn't even respond to that. Had to remove battery.
I have also experienced this issue. Being one of those who had the DHD from 18th October, I have noticed that the audio volume does indeed get affected when using the FM radio or the HTC Music app. Also Vplayer app caused this issue as well as actually 'crashing' my audio all together - sometimes after using Vplayer I had no audio at all unil I restarted.
I now solely use Car Tunes app for my audio and have had no problems at all. Also using Quick settings with everything turned up to Max I think the audio isnt too bad. Previously I thought there was a serious issue with audio, but Im starting to think it maybe just down to specific apps - I now use CoPilot also and have to turn the volume down as it so loud (in another thread I noted that SatNav was unusable because of not being able to hear anything)
Got a response from HTC, although it reads like a default 'do a hard reset' reply, which I'm not happy about doing.
What the hell is this problem now? Will problems about DHD not end one day?
I've had this problem once.. and come to think of it, it happened when I just got the phone, and I did use fm radio just to play around with it.. not another bug surely?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Also got this issue. Dont even need to lower the volume during radio playing. Just on/off radio and the main volume is "set" low. Quotes because the volume control didnt changed...
Reboot is working but its not the best solution :/
I'm having a similar problem.
Yesterday i putted my volume to zero while i was eating with my mom.
After increased it to max, the sound while typing an sms is very low.
Rebooting doesn't help, all volume settings are set to max, but the sms sound while typing is lower then it was before.
The tricks in this topic also couldn't solve the problem.
Sorry for my bad English
I know of this issue. Dolby/srs has been enabled on your phone. It should disable when you unplug your headphones but for done reason it doesn't always disable. It can be disabled manually but can't for the life of me remember the menu path for this.
Sent from my Desire HD by magic.
i got the same problem today, had to put rockplayer into mute (lowest media volume) but then somehow (after several hours till i noticed) , notifications (sms, emails) went mute too
anyone found a solution to this yet ? cos this is annoying tbh
Why don't you use tasker to automatically set the volume to max after exiting said music applications? Should work as a short term fix anyway.
This issue happened with me as well. I set the volume to max when playing angry birds but noticed it was nowhere near as loud as i remember it being before. Rebooted the phone and fixed. This is a strange issue. I wonder when HTC will roll out a fix.
Hi All,
I had kind of a similar problem, i noticed that the keypad tones was very low and the screen lock 'click' was almost silent. However, sound settings were at Max.
I downloaded Quick Settings from Android Market and found that System Volume was at 2 of 7. I increased this to 7 of 7 and all is ok now.
Maybe this will work for some.

Has anyone with the verizon lg g3 experienced problems with phone volume and clarity during calls? When I use speakerphone, there is a bad echoing on the other person's end. When using normal phone speaker, the person on the other end sounds very quiet and sometimes hard to hear. Have tried disabling/enabling the phone privacy option, as well as the voice enhancement option. Phone is rooted so deciding if this is a problem worth unrooting for and getting an exchange (14 day period window ends wednesday the 13th) or if this a common issue a software update could fix. Input appreciated!
I also have had several reports of echo when on speakerphone? Has anyone else had this problem? I've flashed several roms....
I have the same issue - lg3 rooted and on cm13. People tell me they have a hard time hearing me (a lot of echo), and in most sessions volume is too low for me to hear them (in my car, especially). Doesn't appear to be a solution to this...

had this issue. speaker phone basically echos no matter what for me. i have to decrease the volume so the other person doesn't hear me 8 times. friend of mine had a quite microphone issue. Returned the phone to fix it. but if all that's happening is you not being able to hear them. you can use lg volume booster to change the stock volume for calls. actual apps is on the playstore (Volume Booster LG G3 (Root)
I think this is a problem across all g3 cm12 tons for d855 (can't vouch for other variants)
After about 60% volume on Bluetooth which is safe volume comfortable to listen to, however pressing volume up after this level it goes dead silent and fades in to over 100% volume which is deafaningly loud, have to reduce two levels of volume in order to stop the loud fade in.
Same also applies to the speaker, on alarms on 70% volumes it jumps to almost double the loudness, both become very very distorted anyone else getting this problem?
I'd normally do a bit more research but I'm working long hours this week and thought I'd make people aware if they haven't seen it.
Off topic note - what is up with XDA ads! XDA premium isn't loading so using the website, it just redirects without clicking any ads all the time doesn't even open in a new tab have to go back two or three pages, happens on all androidroms official or not
More issues..

I have the same issue when my Android Wear brings volume down on my phone when I speak a voice command.. When the volume come back instead of going back to the volume it was at it just increases volume of the music at a steady rate. Doesnt actually increase the setting volume but happens in the background. Touching volume control stops it and jumps back to the actual volume. Also happens when I use Google now.
If others can confirm it's fully consistent. Happens every time.

I have the same Issue running CM12 on Note 4. Waiting for a fix.
Hello. I'm having serious problems with the speaker on my Nexus 5X (bought it 20-30 days ago), updated to Android Nougat 7.
What happens is that, at random times, the speaker won't work at all. No alarms, notification, music etc. Even the Youtube app won't be able to play any video during that time.
It sometimes fixes itself, randomly. Also, ifi reboot the device, the speaker will start working again.
Is this a hardware or software issue? Any fix?

I have been experiencing the same issue. My speaker usually goes out, but randomly when the battery is low it starts working again. I have tried soundabout and it works only if a headphone is inputted. Some people use Pressy i know, but too much of a hastle. Any new workaround for this issue. This is my second nexus 5x the last one burned out after firmware update, and now just powers on for a few seconds and auto shuts off.
I still think its a great phone, just wish the speaker issue could be resolved. Thought I'd come to the community for like minded
Note: I've also done the alcohol cleaning for the headphone port, and replacing the whole speaker unit with my burned out unit. All failed
What happens when you press the volume buttons during that time?
Sometimes my Media volume is silent until I change the volume, but it has never affected system sounds only Media.

Wonder anyone have the same problem as mine.
My speaker produce crackling sound when in call or when watching youtube.
Actually all apps that produce sound.
However after restart, problem gone.
But will come back after awhile.
*#0*# test speaker, no issues.
So i gather might be software issue.
Anyone have the same problem or remedy?

Did you try lowering the volume to see if it still cracks? Is it on all YouTube videos or just some.

It happens with whatsapp call, samsung music player, anything that project sound. Even with lower volume. After reboot the crackling will go away.
Also notice that it happens more often if battery is in optimized or lower mode. Very weird.
This happend with my device as well, i got a replacement from Samsung.

How old is your unit when you get it changed?
Are they able to finf out the issue?
The sound quality is bad in this phone. I had a s20u with both speakers crackling during phone calls, whatsapp calls, skype calls etc and also when certain youtube videos are played (for example piano tunes) there is buzz/crackle from earpiece speaker. I tested my speakers too from *#0*# but there was no issue then.. the sound was crystal clear from both the speakers. Got it replaced and bought a new s20 ultra but this one have the same issue. Will sell it in next few months and switch back to Apple.

It was just a day old and yes the crackling sound was clearly audible on high volume.
