Hey y'all. I've got a new S9 (first galaxy for me) and I'm wondering, what are the complete effects of bootloader unlocking on these?
What will stop working, what functionality will be lost?
Thanks in advance

These don't break unless you trip KNOX, purely unlocking the BL does not trip KNOX

What's your point only unlock?!
Only reason to unlock the bootloader is for root...

Or via testpoint using S1tool, but too risky and complicated (imo) (?)

Hi,
I hope its not a stupid question, but the locked knox bootloader apeared for the first time in Note 3, so assuming that the theories that root/custom roms trip/burn an eFuse are real:
Any chance that when Knox Bootloader is tripped to 0x1 its not an eFuse (on Note 2), and easily hacked?
Thank you...

Hello, its been long time since I was in this flashing/tunning devices World, last device i messed with was an N7000 and Galaxy nexus...
Long story short, I have a virgin I747 running ICS, it is unlocked but not rooted
It has stock bootloader and everything
All i want to do is upgrade it to at least 4.3... Mind anyone point me in the step by step direction? Want to do this safely but the Ammount of info is overwhelming
Dont want to risk the device and I want it to be at the end 4.3 stock touchwiz non rooted and unlocked
Thanks in advance for your help

err on the side of kindness
Virgin in Canada is the i747m, not i747. Check in About to confirm which baseband and model you have before flashing anything.
Mine is i747 not m

For the i747, you can flash the stock i747 4.1.1 firmware from sammobile.com using Odin. Then, run OTA updates until you get to 4.3 or 4.4.2.
What country is the phone being used in?
In Venezuela.. But by doing that wouldn't I lose the unlocked?

Once carrier unlocked, the phone will remain unlocked even if you change bootloaders and ROMs.
Ok so I just download the sammobile firmware and flash via odin and thats it
Got it thanks all

to answer it, yes, you can.. its very simple too.. theres many threads on this, just look around
Don't bother with that now, the unlocked (U1) phone just got the June update and FM Radio.
