Atoto A6 Fast Boot Not Working - MTCB Android Head Units Q&A

I love the A6 unit that I have but last week it lost the fast boot feature. At key off it shuts down and loses some settings and the time. I pulled the dash and the yellow wire has power when the key is off. I had installed the new firmware several weeks ago so it's been updated. Any suggestions? I emailed them but have not heard back.

I'm having basically the same issue. When the car has been turned off 80% of the time the head unit does a complete boot up. Sometimes it does it if the car is turned off and immediately turned back on. I also have lost settings suck as time. Everything else works perfectly and I haven't had any other issues as of yet. Had it for about a week now.

Just make sure the yellow wire has constant power even when the key is off. They made me jump through a bunch a hoops to get any action. I had to submit several videos and then they sent me a power adapter that plugged into a wall outlet to bypass the truck wiring and I had to video that also. They finally agreed to replace the radio with me sending the old one back first. I ended up keeping it and they gave me 20% off a Pro unit with the gestures. The day after I bought it they dropped the price on it 20.00. If I had it to do over again I'd just trade it for another and save the money. I doubt I'll be able to sell this old one with the problem it has. Let me know how it goes with them. It was probably a month of emails back and forth before I had a remedy.

I'm pretty sure I connected the yellow wire to the constant power correctly because it will work fine and boot instantly when I turn the car on but sometimes it won't. It's a bit frustrating but if that's the only issue I really have then so be it. Over all it's a decent head unit in my opinion. I guess that's just aftermarket BS when you install yourself.

Hello yall, well I bought atoto A6 and each time it was booting long, like the first time. So it the problem with the wires that goes with the mmc.

so the yellow and red wires are messed up. Or at least look for the right position of all wires. On the picture they are messed up so if U have wire same way than u need to switch em betwin and it will bot up crazy fast

Can you explain a little bit more about the process?
I have the same problem when I switch off the car, do I have to invert the yellow and red cable in the connector?

My iso harness had red and yellow swapped wrong. I had to use big paper clip to swap cables on the iso plug. Now it works like it should. Yellow is battery and also fatter cable. Red one is thinner. Google: iso harness pinout for reference.

Car battery needs replacement
I noticed that i lost my fast boot. But when i change my car battery everything turns fine.

Yeah, sorry I probably should have been more specific but I dont know the exact name for them. haha
It's like the dock "travel" charger for just the battery, not the battery connected to the phone.
I havent been able to find something decent (crappy charging, made in china).
Ok a little update for those interested.
I ended up buying some cheap (REALLY cheap) charger off ebay not expecting too much but just experimenting.
The charger itself looks something like this:

The 2 metal prongs connect to + and -; the charger is able to read which is the + and which is the - no matter how you set the battery in there. The bottom part that pushes the battery toward the prong is extendable or you can flip it 180 if you have a really small battery.
-Flashing red and blue light means charging
-Dull red light while plugged in means fully charged
-Dull red light while not plugged in but with battery set up means the pins are set up correctly on the terminals
NOTE: do not take batter off/put battery on while the charger is plugged in. It can ruin the battery.
The exact one i bought:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/270908124203?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
(no problems with the seller, they actually sent me a few free ones due to a misunderstanding)
Now for the review and my experience.
Pros:
-Fits any battery, interchangeability of pins (differentiating + and -) means you can fit any battery really
-Has a side USB port so you can charge a battery and plug in your USB cord to the phone and charge it at the same time
-Voltage input is 110-220V so (with an adapter) you can theoretically (will test this summer) plug this charge straight into an european plug or north american plug.
-No problems so far with over charging; Charger stops charging the battery when it is full
-Has a light to tell you when the battery is done charging and when you have the pins connected correctly to the battery
-Compact; Small and plug folds up into unit.
-Charges a fully dead battery quickly.
Cons:
-No instructions when I first received this product (i know what you're thinking, how hard could it be to just charge a battery but I was reluctant to rely on the self detecting terminal feature)
-While charging, the light on the unit (the one i posted/bough) flashes red and blue like cop lights and is very bright so it might be a problem if you are plugging it in overnight in a bedroom. Also this is a normal function of the charger but i thought it was malfunctioning so they sent a new unit but then figured out its normal.
-Looks cheap
-Dont know how long it will last for (really cheap so buying another one isnt a problem)
-Noticed that after i pull a battery off the charger and use it the phone states it is at 99% (undercharged) although if i try to bump charge a fully charged battery it wont charge more. This could be a problem with my battery/phone/etc.
-Nothing else really
So final verdict on this product:
Its a great, affordable charger; works great if you are traveling and need to charge an extra battery. Will fit the Incredible 2 extended batteries and technically virtually any battery. Its pretty easy to use once you know what the color lights mean and how to set a battery up.

mine did the same thing just a few days ago only issue I"ve ever had with the phone...I actually ordered this same one off of amazon about 10 mins before I saw this, lol. Glad it works well

Phone won't turn on :(

I've been experiencing some problems with charging and I read in out of the threads that I could use a bit of electrical contact cleaner and it would work. And now my screen protector is ruined and my phone won't fully turn on. It boots up, vibrates then it turns off. What do I do I'm freaking out right now. I'm going to put it rice to see if that works at all Anybody know what I should do I'm really scared right now.
Exactly what did you use? Link to the product.
Yea a little more detail on what you used would be very helpful.
Jesus I feel like the biggest idiot of life. You guy don't realize how F*cking stupid I am. After being in a complete rush I used the wrong type of cleaner. So After I soaked it in rice and took it out I actually used a proper Electrical Contact cleaner and and now everything is fine. But I am now certain that the cable is done because it wasn't charging or showing that it was plugged in so I used my friend's Blackberry cable and everything is fine. I'm so relieved right now.

Lol glad to hear that its fixed.... we all make mistakes
Thanks, the only problem I'm still back to is that it won't charge, which is what was happening before. I am not sure whether it is the charger itself or the micro-usb charging port (Which I could replace). Phone thinks it's charging with the lightning bolt in the top right, but it won't charge...if I go to battery in the settings it says discharging but in the charts it that it was charging all this time.

I'm trying that right now. If it doesn't charge does that mean that the charging port is dead or could it mean that the battery is dead aswell?

Tbh I don't know but this is a educated guess.... seeing that it shows that its charging on the phone means that its receiving the charge. A good test would be to take out the battery and plug your phone into the charger. If it works that means that the port is OK and you'll need a new battery. If not then its the port. Hope this helps.

What do you mean by if it works, as in if the phone boots up and works normally when plugged in?
When you take out the battery and plug it in to the charger it should work normally as its getting power from the plug.

What on earth is this crap?
Well that's odd..... idk
Meh whatever, I smelled and it was just the smell of the wrong cleaner I used, luckily it was just on the plastic parts so I'm safe, I disassembled the rest and found the charging port. I'm ordering a new one for $10 shipped from NJ and not from HK so I should get it soon. Thanks for your help btw. I really appreciate it. :good:
Good luck bud
Update: I just replaced charging port literally just now and it still won't charge. It still says "Charging" but it's not charging. In the Settings it says discharging.
Could it be the battery? I'm thinking of buying a new one and seeing if that works.
Updated Update: The 6% that had remained on my battery before I took my phone apart to repair it is now gone leaving the battery with 0% charge. But, I believe I may have found the problem! If the phone is unplugged from my charger and I try to turn it on it won't turn on at all. But if I plug it into my charger it will boot up past vibrate to the Nexus logo (The X) and then it dies out. I think that the problem is in the charger that has a input voltage drop so it's not charging enough to keep it going. I'm going to use my friend's Samsung Charger (From his Galaxy S II) to see if that will solve the problem.

How do I use the Moto 360? Is it usable in any way?

This may sound like a stupid question but I bought this watch a day ago and I still can't find a way to use it. It's ridiculous.
At first it won't power on as per instruction provided in the package. So I let it charge and it powered on automatically only to start discharging while charging. Then it turned off because it discharged on the charged... Somehow I managed to charge it by manually powering off the watch every few minutes.
So then I paired it with the phone and 15 mins later it got unpaired. I found out I can't pair it again - I must reset. Eventually it paired again, however it kept discharging while on the charging station. I turned airplane mode on, then I turn it off and eventually it charged. Then I immediately initiated the the firmware update to download and somehow I was able to update. So now it charges and discharges fine.
I've never in my life have seen any device be so hard to setup and get going - and I'm an engineer - I can only imagine how normal users keep returning those because they are not usable.
Sorry for the long post but back to my stupid question. How do you guys use this watch. It is totally unusable.
1) I can't use any apps. I'd say "Ok google, show me my steps.". The app will load I'll swipe to see the next screen and in less then 2-3 sec the screen turns off.
2)I tried "Ok goolge send an em..." and the screen turns off. I tried again "Ok google send an email". It asks to whom and while I speak the name - the screen turns off.
Why is ti turning off while I'm in the middle of answering a questions? I tried and tried - I was unable to use anything.
I tried the navigation while driving - very bad idea - I almost crashed my car. It will show me the direction like- go left on whatever and then turns off immediately. I look at the watch again - but no more directions - it don't care that I want direction...
I'd appreciate some tips from users that had the watch for a longer time.

The fact that you are unable to charge it as expected tells me that you have a defective device. Get it exchanged now. Don't bother trying to figure out why you can't set it up or use an app etc.
Yeah. I should have read the other threads before posting. I'm going to return it to BestBuy for a refund today.
I wonder if I should claim it's defective or that I simply can't understand how to use it and don't want/like it anymore?
I you just bought it, tell them it don't work and exchange for a new one. Otherwise, you're just causing problems for somebody else if they shelf it for resale again. There's a reason they have exchange/refund policies.
Sent from my SM-N900W8 using Tapatalk
Yep - returned it as broken
I didn't get a replacement - I'm afraid it'll have the same issues. Feels like it was a software bug so I'm not taking more chances. Perhaps it doesn't work well with Android 5.1 yet.
I'll wait for a newer model.
What phone were you using?
Mine lasts for days and days, I have found that some watchfaces can take a chunk out of my battery.
But if its not turning on and you have reset it the exchange it or get a refund. I can't live without mine, so useful and handy. Besides it looks good ?
I do not think you know what you're talking about OP. But I do agree your device had to be defective, which does suck.
It's broken, I doubt the other replacements will do the same thing

Yes, I got a tempered glass protector at bestbuy when I bought the watch. No idea what brand it was. Hard to center because youre putting a circle inside a circle.

HTC One M8 (Google Play Edition). It just updated to Android 5.1;
I ended up buying the Moto 360 again. Got it from T-Mobile like 30 mins ago.
Yet again the watch wont start out of the box.
Charging it - I hope this one doesn't discharge while on the charger. We'll see...
EDIT: Yes this one works very well. The old one probably had some sensor broken.

I had the same thing happen (the not turning on/charging thing) when I got mine. There will also, apparently, come a time when it drains abruptly then not turn on. Then you have to charge it for at least 5 hours, hold the power button down for 30 seconds, release and hold down again. Still, when it's working it's pretty neat.

I managed to fix the charging issue but the device was unusable. It would turn the screen off randomly in the middle of command.
The new one works great. It too had no charge out of the box but it charged to 30% in like 15-20 mins and then turned on by itself.

Zenwatch wont charge - Black screen

So I've had my zenwatch for about a week now and lastnight it was working perfectly fine but this morning I woke up and my screen was black. I placed it on the charging cradle (which normally triggers the screen to turn on) this time nothing happens, the white charging indicator light on the cradle lights up but the screen does not cut on. I've tried holding down the power button, cleaning off the charging prongs, even using the usb of a pc for trickle charging but nothing seems to wake the screen up. Has anyone else ran into a similar problem? Know of a possible solution?
Thanks

If the battery is totally flat it can take a while to show signs of life. Leave it on charge for half an hour and see what happens.
Left it on the chargwr for 8 hrs last night. Still no sign of life. Its so weird i have only had the watch for 1 week and its in perfrct condition. It just wont cut on.
Did you get an answer to this as I'm now in same position
Same thing has now happened to me!
Maybe they have a self destruct ready for Zenwatch 2 release! Will have to get my Moto out of hibernation when I get back home....
I am not sure but I think your watch is dead. One of my friends was using the Zenwatch and he has faced the same kind of problem. He couldn't get back his watch. You can contact with customer service.

Same problem happen to me... after 2 month of usage (updated to 5.1.1)
Accidentally my watch wont charge anymore until the battery running out
If I put my watch on charging craddle with original travel charger, the white led indicator of craddle turn on but my watch still won't charging and the screen just black... no vibration, no display, no sign of life... try to press power button as long as I can.. doesn't help...
Is this hardware defects or just software problem?
Anyone has solution or fix for this?
It is so weird..
Same issue. didn't charge it for a week and now wont show any signs of life even after leaving it on the charger for days. also tried holding the reset button for minutes.
Hi,
just recently I had the case with ZenWatch from Asus, which was shelved for one year. After connecting to charger screen stayed black and watch was vibrating (short vibration every two seconds).
This is typical fault of COMPLETELY discharged battery. Had such cases with telephones before. By experiment I found the way long time ago. You have to "initiate" or "ignite" battery. In case of telephone batteries take out battery, use old USB cable, clean wires from insulation from one end (opposite to male plug). Use black (-) and red (+) wires as 5 V supply. Identify + an - on battery. Prepare your phone, watch charger for charging. Touch end of + wire to + contact on battery/watch and - to - accordingly for about 20 - 30 seconds. After that quickly put battery to phone or watch to charger and normal charging will start. Be careful not to make any short circuit with wires or wrong terminals.
I made it many times and always successful. In case of Asus Zenwatch proper contacts are these corresponding to first two pins of charging cradle from the side of USB connection - outer one is ground (-) next one is +.
Good luck!
Happened to me recently after washing my watch. Turned out there was a little bit of water inside and after drying it, it powered up and started to charge properly again
I've recently had the same problem. When I connect the charger, the watch vibrates once then does nothing. Screen stays black no matter what I do, and I've left it charging for days now

New battery / USB port = Charges as "USB" only (no Quick Charge) - HELP!

Hi,
My HTC 10's battery wasn't holding a charge for very long and the rear camera needed to be replaced so last night, following instructions online, I opened up the phone, and replaced the LCD screen, the rear housing, the rear camera module, the battery and the USB charging port (which includes microphone and capacitive buttons). I made sure to carefully put everything back together exactly as I took it apart. Every wire, every ribbon, every screw and every piece of tape.
Now that I've got it all back together and buttoned up, I tried charging it. It seems to only recognize chargers as USB (as if it's a computer port) and therefore charges EXTREMELY slow. The battery is OEM HTC and the Charging port also looks OEM, identical to the ones I removed. Anyone know what's going on? I've tried plugging the device into the original HTC QC3 charger and cable as well as an Anker battery pack which also supports QC3.
USB charging speed makes this phone basically unusable now. I use the device constantly throughout the day and it's not going to work like this. Does anyone have any experience taking this phone apart and might have any guesses as to what's going on?
Edit: Here's what a night of being plugged into the official HTC charger + cable looks like. What would have charged the phone fine normally via QC3.

just becuase it looks oem doesnt mean it is.
I had this happen to me with an m7 way back. Charging port was crap and decided on replacing it instead of dealing with the insurance dectuble. Bought the port for 40 bucks and it came with tool all nicely packaged. Replacement was easy but once i tried the port out it kept giving me a usb prompt for connection options and it would only charge at less than 1 amp. Pull the phone apart again and plug in the old port and bam direct fast charging no prompt.
So I opened the phone back up, and swapped back in the original charging port. Still won't quick charge... How can I be sure it's not some software reset that is needed? I'm almost ready to just cave in and go buy a new phone tomorrow...
Any other ideas? I can try reconnecting the original battery and see if that works next. It's just a huge PITA removing the mid-frame from the rear housing every time. I can't test the phone without the rear housing because of the antennas. It just boot loops if you try.
Edit: I plugged it into a PC USB port and it's not detecting that it's a data port at all, and treats it just like it would a wall charger (albeit charging extremely slowly). That leads me to believe it's not the battery at all and the fact that the old port is doing the same thing is concerning. Could I have damaged something? There are 4 plugs that go into that charger board. The main snap down plug, two small cables and another small ribbon cable. All look to be in good solid condition with no visible damage. Hmm.......

I wouldnt trust pc usb ports.
Sounds like it needs to calibrate maybe?. Let it slowcharge until its 100% and reboot.
So I took the phone apart again, took the USB port board off, and wiped it all down with 91% iso including the ribbon connectors, then plugged it all back in. Low and behold, it's working now! Great right? Except in the process of putting the phone back together, I managed to rip off the back button ribbon.... FML
So now that I know the original board is working again, I suspect it had to do with one of the ribbon connectors, specifically the one that's held down by two screws. Maybe it wasn't aligned just right or something.
Tomorrow I'm going to pray to all the non-existent gods and try swapping in the replacement board, cleaning it with iso again, one last time. Hopefully it works.
