Hello,
I have an issue since open beta 11. When I do a fastboot oem lock, my phone boot only in bootloader mode or recovery mode. If I unlock the bootloader I can boot on beta 11.
The problem appears since the beta 11. I Installed the beta 10 with a locked bootloader after installing the recovery.img without issue, and if I upgrade it to beta 11 I encountered the same issue I can't boot with a locked bootloader. I have to unlock it.
Any idea ?

I think you need to do this steps:
1. Unlock bootloader
2. Install TWRP
3 wipe everything and format data
4 install stock recovery by flashing recovery.img in twrp.
5. Reboot to stock recovery
6. Choose ADB sideload in stock recovery
7. Flash OB10 by Adb sideload.
7.1. Reboot to stock recovery one more time and install OB11-OB14 by flashing it by adb sideload.
8. Reboot to fastboot from recovery
9. Lock bootloader
10. Reboot to stock recovery
11. Wipe everything.
12. Reboot to system.
I hope this can help you.
And remember: "All you are doing, you are doing on your own risk !!!"
P.S. also you can solve this problem by using unbrick tool. For me it was the best way to solve all my problems with my OP5T.

Hi,
I have LG G4 H815 on Marshmellow. I have unlocked the boot loader but i want to find out how to root the phone.
So far, I have tried the two method below without much luck.
1: ) http://www.technobuzz.net/install-twrp-recovery-on-lg-g4/
2: ) http://www.androidrootguide.com/2015/06/how-to-install-twrp-recovery-and-root-lg-g4-h815.html
Infact the problem is after trying option 2, The phone gets stuck in bootloop and just does not want to start.
To resolve this issue, i started the phone in download mode & then using LG Bridge, Used update error recovery option to restore the phone in booting again.
Any help / guidance to get the phone rooted will be much appreciated.
Regards
Iru
You said you have unlocked bootloader, so you can simply do same thing as me:
1. Download which ever kernel you want to use, I used simpleGX
2. From the zip package copy the boot.img
3. Reboot to fastboot by and flash the boot image (fastboot flash boot yourbootimghere.img)
4. Reboot the phone to the bootloader again.
5. Flash latest TWRP image (fastboot flash recovery yourrecoveryimghere.img)
6. Reboot the phone
7. Reboot to recovery
8. Flash SuperSU if not included in your kernel.
9. All done, enjoy root

Here's the deal. I unlocked the bootloader of my OnePlus 3, flashed TWRP Recovery with "Tool All In One" through my pc. Then I was able to root my phone, I did it and then, flashed the Open Beta 9 through TWRP.
Now the problem I have now is that I'm unable to flash TWRP from my computer and I don't know why. It doesn't display any error or anything else. But when I boot into recovery mode, it is not TWRP, it's the stock one. Help me out. I want root and Xposed lol!
fastboot flash recovery TWRP.img
into recovery Vol Plus and Power
flash SU
beta9 is Nougat so xposed is not working yet.

You need adb and Fastboot.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979&page=95
On The Fastboot PATH
Same directory, Put twrp.img
Shift and Right Mouse.Open cmd and type
fastboot flash recovery "twrp file name.img"
You can get TWRP.
I recommend TWRP .28
After you can flash any Rom and Kernel , SU etc...
You need modified TWRP Recovery to Run Open Beta 9, official TWRP won't work
Here's the link for Modified TWRP

Thank you guys so much, I successfully flashed TWRP on my phone. First time, it didn't want to boot but when I rebooted it id did
... Well, update: Booted into system and when y tried to boot into recovery, this time unplugged from the pc, booted with stock recovery -_-
... Update of the update haha: I downloaded the root zip and then I flashed the TWRP, Installed root zip and made a backup of the whole system and now, the TWRP recovery is installed permanently. Thank you if you guys followed my thread.
Hello everyone,
This morning, I wanted to recover OxygenOS on my Oneplus3. I'm currently running Cyanogenmod 13.
I used the following guide: "[GUIDE] How to Unroot your OnePlus 3 / 3T and go back completely to stock" (Since I'm a newb, I can't post the link. But Google will get you there)
I booted into fastboot, issued the fastboot flash recovery recovery_op3.img and fastboot oem lock commands from my Linux termina, and rebooted in recovery mode.
In recovery mode, I then erased the cache and all that, selected the "Upgrade android from USB" and issued the adb sideload ota.zip command. This is where my problems began.
After running the command, I got the error "error: protocol fault (no status)". I tried to look this error up, but couldn't find useful information.
I started to panic a bit, fearing that my phone would be bricked. However, after booting back into fastboot mode, unlocking OEM, and rebooting, my phone would boot back into Cyanogenmod 13 (A clean install).
So now I don't have a bricked phone. However, I really would like to go back to OxygenOS, so my question is whether anyone knows how to solve my problem.
Summary:
Running Linux (Debian 8) on my PC;
Running Cyanogenmod13 on my Phone;
Want to recover OxygenOS, but adb sideload gave me "error: protocol fault (no status)";
Tried running the adb sideload command as root, however that did not work;
Can still use the Cyanogenmod13.
I've seen that error once before. I had to disconnect the phone, kill the ADB process, reconnect the phone and restart ADB to get it to work.
That worked for me. Hope that helps.
Sent from my OnePlus 3 using XDA Labs

Hey, thanks for responding.
I forgot to mention that I also tried killing the adb process several times, using the adb kill-server command and by killing the process sending SIGKILL.
Another thing I tried was using another Debian machine, which is my laptop. Still, those things did not solve my issue.
Never relock your boot loader, most bricks are due to relocking.
Flash twrp, flash oxygen os ,boot, enable everything,if you want complete stock, flash stock recovery ,flash oxygen os boot to complete stock os.
Backup youre working rom..
First, you need unlocked bootloader.
1.Flash twrp 3.0.4.1 or twrp-3.1.0 x v.26 blu_spark. Reboot to recovery.
2.Clean flash (wipe data-dalvik-system-cache) Oxygen OS, since you come from a custom rom. Flash SuperSu or Magisk, if you want root. Reflash recovery. Reboot to recovery.
If youre phone does not boot in recovery, press Power till phone vibrates. Press vol. down & choose:
1. Select Bootloader. Flash recovery from PC. Safest way to flash recovery.
or
2.Select recovery. Reflash recovery. Reboot recovery.
After you are sure that you got a working recovery reboot to system.

Since I don't understand everything yet, I will spend this evening looking up everything in detail, before I start giving it another try. Do you perhaps know of a tutorial about this specific situation? I don't want to bother you by questioning everything you stated in your instructions. They seem clear enough to be able to be looked up on Google

By the steps after "if you want complete stock", do you mean that I should keep the bootloader unlocked, and then perform the same steps as in the tutorial that I used?
EDIT:
@ null0seven: I found these steps online as I was looking up some things you said (I don't have much time since I will celebrate eastern with my family today)
Rooted Users or users with ROMs other than OxygenOS having new bootloader (Official CM 13,CM 13 Based ROMs dated later than 04 June 2016,H2OS Marshmallow)
Step 1 :- Download the OxygenOS 3.0.2 full zip from the top of the post.
Step 2 :- Boot into TWRP.Wipe Dalvik,System,Data and Cache.After that,flash OxygenOS 3.0.2.
Step 3 :- [OPTIONAL] Flash SuperSU from here :- https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24459283995297946
Step 4 -> Reboot System.
Of course, this is about an old version of OxygenOS. But it looks the same as you said.
I think this, combined with your instructions, will make it a bit clearer. Still one question: What do you mean exactly by flashing?

Ok. Guys my mandatory 720hrs of waiting will be up in a week. So can anyone guide me regarding flashing twrp on this device in a permanent fashion. I intend to stay on the current miui10.8.20 latest beta as I find it perfectly useable, however I do wanna use gcam ( plz guide on that as well). And one last thing, can I update to any latest official beta available through ota. ( Will it relock my device?) Or will I only lose twrp which I persume I can flash again.
Xiaomi phones have a real typical root method. I am not new to rooting at all but kindly help me through this.
One last thing.. any recommendations for miui based custom ROMs?
My device is the global variant of note 5.
Flashing twrp : put your device in fastboot mode and enter these fastboot commands
fastboot boot twrp.img
Now copy twrp.img to internal storage
From twrp recovery install twrp.img this will permanently flash twrp recovery
Follow google camera mod thread
Yes you can flash OTA update using twrp recovery and it won't lock bootloader
Just flash magisk for rooting

Done this several times, but I didn't use hard buttons, instead i used fastboot boot recovery.img command to reboot to recovery after flashing recovery. I also tried rebooting to recovery from twrp without problem, but after rebooted to system, twrp reverted to stock recovery, everytime.
I didn't have this problem with MIUI 10.3.1.0 with the same TWRP.
edit : I'm using TWRP 0330 btw, and somehow there was no swipe to allow modification confirmation when the phone rebooted to twrp for the 1st time after flashing twrp.
Wonder why.

Tks, but I don't have problem with TWRP 0330, it works fine, including touch screen, the problem is TWRP get replaced by Stock Recovery everytime I boot my my phone to system.
I don't want to root my phone, just like to have TWRP recovery around so I can use it to flash hosts file for ads blocking and some other things.
Someone told me i need to flash lazyflasher...I'm going to do it later ..

No. don´t try to boot to recovery from fastboot after to flash it, don´t flash it through fastboot.
Do the next three steps and see what happens but do it exactly the same or won´t worth the try:
- In fastboot delete recovery partition by typing fastboot erase recovery
- Then reboot to recovery (don´t flash it yet) by typing fastboot boot twrp.img (rename recovery image firstly to twrp)
- Now once in TWRP flash the zip or image to the recovery partition, when you finish go to Reboot options within TWRP and choose recovery to boot to it before to boot up to system. If you boot at this instance to TWRP then the issue have to be solved, reboot normally to system.
Edit: If this way the problem is not solved then after to install TWRP flash Magisk that can prevent it to be overwritten.
