I've noticed that, when using a custom rom, the Moto Camera 2 app loses some of it's functions.
You can no longer use the color pick mode, Portrait mode and similar extra functionality.
Any way to recover those functions? Maybe a Third party App?

Anyone got the Camera Zoom FX app to correctly tie into the hardware button to replace the stock camera app? I bought it last night on a whim, and it has a few advantages over stock, but i couldn't get the button to change apps. I even tried freezing the stock app and creating a Tasker profile and it didnt work.
I can't seem to find the grid option in manual mode and superior auto. Does the stock app actually have a grid option? Or do I still have to use third party apps?
Hi friends;
HTC M8 has dual camera.
Normally after we take photo we can make background blur effect with internal photo editor.
Is there any camera app that can take portait mode photos by using these dual cameras?
I mean that background will be blur in portrait mode without using photo editor.(bokeh effect )
Thank you very much.

All background blur effects on smartphones are software based, whether the user realizes it or not. The dual cameras just gather enough information for the software to do it's tricks.
"Real" bokeh is only possible with longer focal lengths than possible on phone cameras (1" or more).
Whether there is a camera app that will apply background blur (with software tricks) with no active editing on your part, and using dual camera on this device, I don't know of any.
- There are 3rd party apps that will do portrait mode, but I haven't used them. And they won't utilize the dual camera.
- The Pixel photo app was ported to other device, but not compatible with the M8 (requires Snapdragon 820). Also does not utilize dual camera to blur the background.

Thank you very much for your reply.
I just bought my Zenfone 5z a few days ago and I'm satisfied with its performance. The software can use more clean-up but this version of ZenUI is a lot better than the previous ones. But one thing tho, the system UI is primarily white, especially the nav bar. It looks really ugly especially that I always have my apps on night mode whenever possible. And of course, seeing the pull-down menu in dark mode will always be a delight. It used to be possible with themes but this new ZenUI only changes the icons and wallpapers and leaves out the quick settings.
Second is that the camera app is always on full brightness. I can always use the modded GCam but the native camera app always yields bettee photo quality based on my test, the only thing that annoys me is that it's so bright when I use it. Is it possible to have a modded version of the native cam app where we can turn off down the brightness?
Thank you for taking your time in reading this. More suggestions and comments is welcome since there aren't a lot of discussions about this phone yet.

Which google camera are you using?
I am trying to set my camera up as a temporary streaming option by mirroring my phone screen on my PC with the camera app. The obvious issue being all of the UI on the camera preview screen. I have tried some of the streaming apps, but they don't have all of the features of the stock camera app (like utilizing the wide-angle lens). Does anyone know if I am missing anything? Or is it just impossible?
