Other devices pair with no problem. my previous xiaomi note5 connected easily .
I tried any possible tricks and still Mazda is invisible to the Mi a2

I just resolved this using the following steps (these are the raw troubleshooting steps, not sure which one worked)
- Open the hood and remove the positive cable of the battery (red one) and leave it off for approx. 30 minutes.
- Reconnect the cable to the battery and start the car, that will reset the system.
- Connect another device to your Mazda Bluetooth first.
- Just in case, do a network reset on your Mi A2 Lite (Settings -> Search for reset -> select the network reset option)
- Connect a headphone or a similar device via Bluetooth to your Mi A2 Lite and leave it paired and connected.
- Go back to your Mazda, try to pair again and wait until the count down hits 130 sec left, your phone will find your Mazda Bluetooth by then.
I'm not sure which step(s) resolved the issue but following the above steps will reset both your ECU on your vehicle and your phone's network configuration back to default.
Hopefully that works for anyone else who has this issue as well, since it worked for me.
- Aria

Mine pairs just fine but the ringtone doesn't play on the car just some old nokia ringtone tried the development settings but nothing.

Mines not wanting to pair either ?

I turn it on and it finally found my Mazda. It was definitely a difficult device to sync but since it's on I been able to find most of my bluetooth device (headphones) easier then prior when I can only find other phones. So it was finding mainly devices :\

Tried it again today as you suggested without names. actually the car bluetooth was with a sign of headphones device and when i tried to pair it immediately the two devices recognized each other.
Thanks a lot for all suggestions!

Oops, retracted, didn't see the bottom solution and will try that before I whinge
Fixed: enable developer setting -> Show Bluetooth devices without names
Worked for me., Mazda 3 (2015/2016?)
Thanks.

If Development settings are not shown they will appear after pressing 7x Build Number. Then development settings and activation as describes above.
Afterwards pairing issue was solved.

Hello,
How to do it ? - show bluetooth device without names ? So instead the name of device there should be a serial number of phone bluetooth ?
Thanks for help.

Problem pairing with a smartwatch

Hi,
I recently purchased a Huawei Honor Band Zero smartwatch and pairing it with the P8000 is a pain in the ass. I may have tried around 100 times (no exaggeration) and I managed to get it just once. But then, once I got too far from the phone while wearing the watch and it disconnected, I haven't been able to pair the two again.
I've tried with my previous phone, a Xiaomi Redmi 1S, and they pair every time in seconds. Then I can send data from the watch to the phone, and setup the watch from the phone.
I asked @BlueFlame4, author of the visi0nary kernel, whether this could be solved at the kernel level (along with other bluetooth related issues, such as music skipping over BT) and he thinks that maybe the BT stack is messed up, but the solution could be hard to achieve.
Well, today I've been trying again and have discovered a difference between the Redmi 1S and the P8000. When I turn on BT on the Redmi 1S, the watch appears as both a known and paired device. If I tap the device's settings button I can see an input device profile I can activate or not on the phone, such as BT headsets showing audio and voice profiles or options to share phone contacts. Well, on the P8000, I see no box to set up the watch as an input profile. But I remember seeing it the only time the watch paired correctly with the phone.
How can this be possible? Any way (the phone is rooted, so I can do almost anything) to get it working like it does with the Redmi 1S?
Thanks.

disable bluetooth a2dp hardware offload?

I have searched here and the Google, with no joy.
I was browsing DEVELOPER OPTIONS and ran across a setting, that I do not know if ON or OFF is best.
SETTINGS > DEVELOPER OPTIONS > NETWORKING > DISABLE BLUETOOTH A2DP HARDWARE OFFLOAD
I am unsure which was default and could not find the benefits of either selection.
Any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

According to this article the default is off, but it does not say what the purpose of the toggle is.

Thanks! At least this confirms what I thought.
I think I inadvertently turned it on, while scrolling. I believe that's why I noticed it, in the first place, because the switch was blue and obvious.
Did you ever figure out what the purpose of the toggle is?
I looked at this a while ago https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78362981&postcount=10
Different manufacturers/Models of phones have it disabled or it resets when the phone starts. This could be to do with them implementing their own audio processor (DAC/Chip/etc) for processing the audio. It has no effect when changed according to anyone that's bothered to trying it.
Thanks for the update.
It will affect gapless playback on GPM (dont know about other services) with Bluetooth headphones ( dont know why)
enabling this feature helped me fix a low volume problem on a Bluedio T6 bluetooth headphones.
I want to know exactly what this is too. I only know that it makes music track transitions on GPM gappless. I found that suggestion on Reddit when I was trying to listen to Dark Side of the Moon and the damn gaps kept ruining my chill.
I'm using a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 running Derpfest (android 9 pie) rom.I toggled it off and it asked me to restart my phone. So I did and now it's greyed out.Plus I noticed a slight difference in audio quality while using my BT earphones.Any way of turning it back on or I'll have to live with the consequences?
Yeah at the bottom of dev settings you can reset all to default.

This happened to me too. To fix this, in the developer settings menu, toggle Developer Options off then without leaving that screen, toggle it back on again. Scroll down and you should be able to toggle that setting off.

When disabling it you have to restart your phone and of the feature is working it will remain off and your headphones will work
google voice stopped to work when i turned on this option.
most of you are toggling an option without knowing what it does.
Shouldn't be better understanding exactly what it's for ?

Bluetooth issue after Android Pie upgrading for Mi A2 Lite

My MI A2 Lite was upgraded from Android 9 and a problem arose. Previously, any incoming call to the phone was automatically transferred to the connected bluetooth device (headphones or speakers in the car). With Android 9, the call is transferred only manually after an additional button is pressed on the phone, which is dangerous while driving. Tell me how to restore automatic transfer of calls to a connected bluetooth device. Thanks.
The issue you're having isn't strictly Pie related as I'm always striving to reroute calls from BT car audio to phone just because my radio is closer to my legs than head
Did you reset your phone after upgrading from Oreo to Pie? It resolves lots of issues.

Yes, i've checked, looks fine. Just instead of your "media audio" i have checked "Profile A2DP" in my phone menu.
Have you tried forget button and pair again?

I tried to pair again with and without A2DP button - result the same.
Unpair, forget, restart, pair, don't test it, restart, check if it's fine.
If not, I think you didn't do reset after upgrading.

Do you think that maybe the car’s speakers and headphones don’t support the A2DP format of the bluetooth? How to enter the developer options in the menu to change the format of bluetooth?
I try your suggestions later today.

I tried your recommendations. The bell rang in the headphones and a connection occurred for 1-2 seconds only. After that, the signal was dropped on the phone and was not heard in the headphones. Car speakers work in a similar way.
Android Pie was installed over 2 months ago. The phone repeatedly rebooted, as there were problems with Fitness applications (problems were resolved with the help of a modified fitbit version).
It seems to me that the Bluetooth profile A2DP does not match the settings of the headphones and car's speakers. How to fix it? Any other ideas?

You wrote it happens in Pie, in Oreo was fine. You can't get phone calls working on A2DP from the phone's side (one-way connection), however my radio shows A2DP connection but as I said earlier, phone calls were always answered through BT so no problems with that.
You can't change BT options in dev. It's there but it isn't persistent. You tap on sth else and it goes back to default values right away.
---------- Post added at 11:56 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:50 PM ----------
Resetting the device after upgrading (changing OS) isn't necessary of course but recommended because of handling things differently. And if your calls work through BT after the additional button is pressed then it seems like a system issue or you changed sth else. Try this: https://btbusiness.custhelp.com/app...s-to-fix-problems-with-call-diversion/c/5130/
Thanks for the answer. I can now describe the situation more precisely. The issue equally concerns the connection with the phone of both bluetooth devices: stereo headphones and car’s speakers.
1. The incoming call is transmitted to the car’s speakers (or headphones), it connects for 2-3 seconds and the call is dropped on the phone back.
2. To continue the conversation through bluetooth, you must once again press a key on the phone with a choice of bluetooth device.
3. The music is normally broadcast for 8-10 minutes, then it stops and you need to start the music play again to continue.
4. I think the problem is in the phone, because for Android 8.1 everything worked well. The upgrade for Android 9.0 was made at the end of December and problems started with all bluetooth devices (Fitbit watch, headphones and car’s speakers). Subsequently, Fitbit released a new version of the program for the Pie and the problem disappeared.
I have repeatedly rebooted the devices, including restoring the factory settings (for Wi-Fi, bluetooth and mobile Internet), but the issue persists.
I checked, the Android upgrade to the Pie was January 26, 2019. Maybe since then they have released fresh system updates, solving bluetooth bugs?
I had a lot of issues related with bluetooth after the pie update, had to factory reset the phone, now everything works properly

Great for you! I did reset Wi-Fi, mobil Internet and Bluetooth, but no success. Did you reset the data full? Did reserve copy help to return application data back?
That's why I asked about the reset in the first place. Resetting some functions (WiFi, BT) solve issues you gain using the OS but they won't work with issues after the upgrade.
Tap the blue button in the settings > backup and reset all via recovery.
Sent from my Redmi 4X using Tapatalk
Factory reset means you wipe all the data in your phone to start like it was brand new and out of the box, of course you will loose everything if you don't have a backup. Go to settings>system>advanced> reset > factory reset. I didn't have backup because if you don't change the default options when you are setting up your device, Google makes backups of almost everything including contacts, app data, pictures if you use Google photos.
Finally, after a factory reset, the bluetooth works fine in the car and in the headphones. Thanks to all.

Low Volume Bluetooth Wireless Earbuds Problem

Hello there fellow Xiaomi users, I have a problem with my Bluetooth earbuds and it's driving me insane! I hope you can help me out. When I connected my newly purchased bluetooth sony earbuds (the model is WF-XB700) I noticed that the volume was really low, maybe 50% less than it should've been. I was perplexed, but had a couple of quick ways to determine the problem. I connected the earplugs to a Iphone 8 and they worked just fine, 100% of their capacity. Then I connected my Xiaomi Mi 2A lite to some other bluetooth headphones (model Pioneer se-ms7bt) and they also worked as they should've. Then I connected the earbuds to a Xiaomi Mi A3 and to my surprise, I could also detect the Low Volume Issue there too! So, it must be something Android/Xiaomi related.
Then I went on a really energy draining odyssey on google to find a solution. What I did find was, firsty, that it was a known issue and secondly, that the myriad of solutions presented did not help me at all. This is a list of the things I tried, some of which spawned problems too :
1) Disabling absolute volume in developer settings.
2) Tinkering with all the options in the develper option - even the following (I will copy paste in from an other thread , which according to many people has worked :
Enable Developer Options (options -> system -> about phone -> click build number 7 times)
Press back
Go to settings, and search AVRCP.
Click on Bluetooth AVRCP Version and ensure it is on 1.6.
Next, search for Absolute
Select Disable Absolute Volume and turn this toggle on, if it isn't already.
Unpair all Bluetooth devices. Restart your device. Pair the devices again. To the right of each Paired Bluetooth device in the Bluetooth settings page is a gear icon, go into each device and turn off the Phone Calls toggle, leaving only Media audio enabled.
Exit settings, connect to the Bluetooth device, start playing something. Increase the volume using the volume up button and rejoice as the volume goes as loud as you need!!!
3) Putting the volume up in the Sony Headphones app. - So, officially the app doesn't support the WF-XB700. There are two options for detection. The first is a list of the supported devices (mine is not there) and the other is a ,,detect via bluetooth''. Tried the second option but it doesn't work
4) Increasing the volume on the physical buttons on the device. Mine are earbuds and have only one button for on/off
5) Ensuring the eartips are tightly fit in my ear.
6) Making sure the earbud isn't blocked by anything.
7) Resetting the phone
8) Changing the Region - This I actually did not succeed in doing. It turns out that the option to change the region has been removed. If there is a way to do it, please inform me.
9) Trying all the volume booster apps in the store.
10) Restart or enable and disable airplane mode
11) Forgeting and pairing the device again
Could the bluetooth version difference be the problem. Mine is 4.2 and the buds are 5.0. According to google there should't be a difference regarding the sound volume/quality, only range and connection strenght. Please help me, I have wasted more than five hours already and I ran out of options to try. Thanks in advance !
My current software version : Android 10 / Security patch level: October 1,2020 / Baseband version 953_GEN_PACK-1/ Kernel version: 3.18.124-perf-gceec2f0 /
Xiaomi removes Bluetooth codecs intentionally from this phone (and seems like from Mi A3 too). Because Xiaomi dont want to pay 1$ fee for codec. Thats why it works as expected on iPhone. It's all about greediness.
Same codec issue is proper on Miui roms too. This means Redmi 6 Pro has an Bluetooth codec issue too. We can probably say same thing (according to ur first post) for Mi A3 and for its Miui version Xiaomi Mi CC9e.
- Redmi 6 Pro
- Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite
- Xiaomi Mi A3
- Xiaomi Mi CC9e
All of them probably has same issue. I didnt use any flagship of Xiaomi or any other Android phone since Jelly Bean so cant say anything about other brands except Apple. I used an iPhone between those times. iPhones has proper bluetooth codecs. You cant fix it via resetting ur phone or something like that.
SBC is the default codec and none of others will work.
Qualcomm is the owner of these aptX, aptX LL, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive audio codecs. We have an qualcomm chipset on our phone too but xiaomi didnt want to pay for these to earn more money from us. So thats why we are stuck on SBC. Dont buy any android device just by looking its specs from websites. Check out everything in the shop (bluetooth, camera,..etc.) before buy.
