The only issue I see here is that by installing the base ROM it gives you a vendor partition to play with. If you're coming from a cleanly flashed device, the vendor partition just doesn't show up in OrangeFox.
This method can work, provided there's some tutorial on how to create a vendor partition.

Hi, this is the first time try treble project. So if i flashed cardinal aosp rom , so i don't need to flash vendor.imj again right? Then all i need is to format data left the vendor partition untouch is it?
i have issue:
there's an internal problem with your device. contact your manufacturer for details
and after click Ok, it's reboot to recovery, can you help me please
the install on this is basically the same as mine ?
hope you continue my work flawless...
A bit of advice:
don't forget to flash gcam api2 for gcam to work properly... ???
careful with your instructions don't try to change a lot, and don't forget that vendor only method needs to be done after a treble base rom as been flashed at least one time on your phone, and dotos vendor break VoLTE, change bright levels and lead to some bugs as you can read on my thread, some users got problems with that vendor...
Let users choose best kernel, and if possible put link to threads instead of download links, because in threads users can see if things got updated...
Good luck...

The other thread is for a base rom install using cardinal OS, this tutorial is for a vendor only install which works better.
Considering you created the DotOS treble vendor image i find it disturbing you don't understand this!
Instead of being counter-productive why don't you make us a proper android pie port instead of us having to figure out all this buggy crap that doesn't work properly?

I have One Plus 3, I want to check about 10 roms.
I don't want to flash each rom on my device, is there any other way to see the exact rom features?
Screenshots are not good enough...
Can I install custom rom on some emulator?
The answer to all of your question is no. You cannot install a ROM to an emulator, and to see all the features you only need to try.
And one note, this is the wrong section to ask this, so before anyone rains you hatred for so, you may want to get this moved elsewhere

As already suggested, use multirom. You do have to download and flash on your device, but all roms are kept separate and you can test every feature directly.

I'm a bit afraid of multi rom - heard it's a bit dangerous (it can brick the phone).
Is anything shared between the roms (app data?)?

The roms have access to the contents of /sdcard. /system and /data are kept separate.
As for bricking, there is always the possibility. Fortunately, it's relatively easy to recover from both hard and soft bricks on the op3. Keep a backup of your important files just in case.
So far, any issues I've had on a rom have been specific to that rom - it's been convenient to be able to just boot into another working rom without a second thought.
Edit 2: This thread is about @MSF Jarvis 's port of the OOS camera app for custom roms, which can be found here:
https://github.com/MSF-Jarvis/op5cam/commits/master
I'll leave it like this until the ownership of the thread is transferred to him.

Original post:
Hey guys,
Yesterday I asked Funk Wizard when OP will release an OOS camera fully compatible with custom roms.
He replied with a zip as attachment and said I could try it in the meantime, but I don't have a op5 yet.
Apparently, the caught the zip in the wild.
If I'm not allowed to distribute this please delete this thread!
EDIT: removed zip, adding link to developers github
This was made by harsh
Doesn't improve quality and might not work with all custom ROMs.
Can someone try it on official lineage os please?

Lol I understand the love for fame and that beautifully tempting thanks meter but please, don't do this. The ZIP is mine and open source since August 2 at https://github.com/MSF-Jarvis/op5cam/commits/master (thanks for showing up though, reminded me to push the v0.4 changes). Pretty sure Funk Wizard didn't pass off the ZIP as his though. You can keep the thread but add the GitHub link to the OP.
Also, I had been sending the ZIPs to other OnePlus 5 developers to test around which is probably how he came across it. Not exactly wild.

Sorry for posting it, I googled the zip and only Funk wizards thread came up. I would never have posted this if I knew this was already out.
And really, I don't care about fame or thanks. It's just that I am willing to buy this device but not until the camera quality on custom roms is the same as on OOS

Thanks! Flashed this over my existing setup (running Dirty Unicorns) and couldn't get it to run. The app exits as soon as it is launched, and the only thing that worked for me was the front camera. Attempting to run the back camera in any way (pro-mode, video, photo, etc.) closes the app.
Just an update for anyone who wants to try, of course, nothing else.

Missing Portrait Mode
It seems to work well in the official build of LineageOS, but it seems to be missing portrait mode and therefore the bokeh effect.

I think the earlier ROM was removed because the op posted the ROM in his own name as if it was made by him.
This time it seems to hyperlink to the original source of the ROM.

Considerations on the rom: its pretty stable, i flashed unofficial oreo opengapps and magisk 13.3 (i dont like 14.0) and only the camera doesnt work. However u should install some kernel manager and be sure to set all governors on interactive. The original launcher and some stock apps are vanilla android so they're very old but its pretty easy to install pixel launcher etc.
Btw i used the device with wifi only so i cant report on calls and so on since this is not my main device.

Fingerprint works too, bluetooth is unstable.

You should never flash rom of a different device......it may hard brick ur device....it may wipe out all ur drivers....it would be so hard to bring it back to life

If you have a X722 >>>>>> DO NOT INSTALL THIS ROM!!!!
I hope you don't take this post personally, I am only wanting to warn people about the dangers of using this Rom, and not trying to insult you.
First this Rom is not really newer.
I just compared the files of the two ROMs ( side by side ) and it mostly has the exact same files with the same dates and sizes.
But this one has more bloatware, and a different kernel ( the wrong one) simply compiled at a later date.
Its using the S1 Coolpad kernel and that is dangerous for some users.
I would not trust the link to the Flyme website either:
I used that one for two days and although it had all of the correct radio files from stock EUI, it still had too many FC's and the overheating was so bad I thought the phone was bricked at one point.
I am sure that you don't want people to brick their phones!?
* Why not just install something stable and guaranteed to work.
Reminder based on the Coolpad S1 kernel.
I would strongly Advise that anyone with a X722 to not bother unless you want a guaranteed brick.
The only positive aspect that I can see is that this Rom is It has alot of sounds, that is not a joke.
It has 40 ringtones
40 Alarm sounds
30 Notification sounds
30 misc ui sounds
Seriously, these links need to be taken down.

I just had a question for you guys..
Is there going to be a TWRP for OP 7T or not? I want to root my OP 7T so much yet I don't know how to do it or what version to use.. yes I'm a noob at this.. All I know is that with TWRP it's gonna be a lot more easier..
So.. does anyone know if there's gonna be a TWRP for the OP 7T?
Thanks!!
They are giving full focus for Android 100 soon, so yeah probably. When? Not sure.
Sent from my OnePlus7TPro using XDA Labs
From what I have read there working on it but android 10 in 7t is so different it will take time to make one that works, it does not work the same as android 9 does. The root methods out there do work, my 7t came with a version of Q I could not find any patched boot images for but was still able to root it using one of the methods listed in the forums. Its not at all like using TWRP. I first went to fastbootd then booted to a modded TWRP that was useful only to use as a way to access the factory boot image and run ADB commands and pull it from the device to my PC then back to my internal storage .. Reboot from there (which will seem like your going to brick your device since the TWRP will say there is no OS installed, but there is,, it boots fine) onxce back up I used magisk manager to patch that extracted boot image and then reboot back to fastbootd push it back onto the device then reboot and its rooted. Without TWRP to flash (as the modded only give ADB access) you use magisk to flash mods and if you want a custom kernel you use a kernel manager that can backup and flash the new kernel. I was able to put bluespark kernel as well and xXx mod, james DSP works fine also. Waiting for TWRP to mess with Viper4android.
