Have you tried flashing a rom or rooting, because something like that doesn't normally happen.

Sorry if this has been posted before but i cannot find it any where.
OK so i just got a brand new s3 and when i try to turn on wifi, it just turns off automatically. Ive tried turning off wifi sleep mode options and did a factory data reset and still didnt work. I would install a custom ROM and see if that fixes it but its not my phone. Any help would be really appreciate it and Thank you.

This seems obvious but did you set up your wifi in settings with password and connect first?
I can't even do that. I just hit the button and it just turns itself back off.

At first I thought it has something to do with JB roms but I tried going back to stock as well. Wifi will not turn on! Even bluetooth sometimes doesn't turn on. Send phone in for repair?
Ok, so wifi is working now but bluetooth is not? It's like one will work but not the other!
Hi
I got a used galaxy S3 for cheap, but wifi was not working on it. Turns out it was the antenna cable inside the phone, so I replaced that part, but it still didnt work. I downgraded the software from 4.1.1 to 4.0.4 (via ODIN), and wifi worked, so I left the phone alone for a few hours. Then I started using the phone and downloaded a few apps then all of a sudden wifi stopped working, and the phone won't connect anymore. Tried rebooting, reflashing, going to *#0011# and turned off wifi power saving mode, but still didnt work. WHen I enable wifi or bluetooth, the I/O switch gets greyed out and it just says "Turning On..." . Anyone know what the issue is? Could it be a hardware problem (wouldnt think so because it worked for a bit).
thanks!
No one has experienced this problem on their phones?

I'm experiencing similar trouble with my s3 the wifi never turns on. I've only started having this issue since I got a factory reset done because of some other trouble and now I'm sick with this new issue.
Did you find anyway to fix it yet. 923
Anyone know a fix or heard of a fix? I have to restart my phone anytime i want to connect to a bluetooth device I have paired. The devices will connect but there is no sound unless I power cycle the phone first.
I can't be the only one. Anyone have or specifically NOT HAVE this issue?

You aren't the only one...I have the same issue. It's not necessary to restart the phone. You can turn airplane mode and then revert normal!

Cool, I'll give that a try.
Have you tried resetting the phone? I would be tempted to return the phone but ugh...with my luck i'd get one with even worse blue screen lol.
My Bluetooth disconnects whenever the screen turns off. This has been happening since the Oreo update. I have used Xperia Companion Software Repair, but it doesn't help. Network reset does help for a few hours but the issue always comes back. Anyone else have this problem, and did you find a solution?

Edit: I found that turning off wifi and wifi scanning fixes the issue.
