Camera Bug With Instagram and Snapchat - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi,
I have bought this device 2 days ago and it is very good, but I have a problem when it comes to the camera, let me explain.
When i take a picture with the camera app, the "preview" of that photo in the screen looks very bad, but after taking the photo it processes it and takes a good photo.
The problem is that when I try to take an instagram stories video, the video slows very much and the fps drop in the video. Also when i'm taking a photo with an instagram filter, it looks like the "preview" of a photo in the stock camera app, and it really looks with so bad quality, like it is a 3 megapixel camera, that also happens to me in snapchat, the quality is very poor taking a photo, and it seems like it doesn't process the image.
I don't know it that will be fixed enabling camera2 api (but i want to keep my warranty) or it is a major bug with instagram and snapchat. (I have also thought it might be a bug witrh the 18:9 ratio, but idk). Help me.
Currently using Miui stock rom in version 9.5.19.0

Instagram photo quality?

I know instagram crops photos, but the quality is also pretty shocking - Uploading without filters or any touchups within instagram itself.
I'm trying to play around with either taking the photo with the One X camera app first and then uploading, or ticking advanced camera options in instagram and doing it within the app - Does anyone know if this makes a difference?
Besides that any other tips or is it simply going to suck always?

Google Camera mod with HDR+

Anyone else give the modded camera a try. I just installed it & I didn't experience any issues. I'll test it some more tomorrow though

Im using Mod rom viper 10 5.1.1
Im realise that latest HTC camera for HDR+ seems like have compress picture to reduce noise in the picture same like google camera apps,
I also try modded google camera apps and the result was almost the same (noise reducing)
which version u installed guys?U have weird noise pattern in low light?
Yeah, super noisy for me too, stock cam takes way better pics.
Are you all on stock or AOSP
I've tried this on both stock and PureFusion, there's always a noise pattern but it's most noticeable in low light pics. The noise starts about 1/4 of the screen away from the home button and continues to the edge of the picture facing the selfie cam. It's only our phone that has this issue so it'll likely never be corrected.
This is somewhat disappointing, as I was hoping this would help camera quality on AOSP roms. I loved LOS, but I couldn't take a good picture to save my life. The stock sense ROM camera really makes use of that camera sensor, as it should. Still kind of bugs me the Google Camera doesn't make better use of the sensor, since it uses the same camera sensor as the 5X/6P (10 has OIS, where the 5x/6p does not), and those phones take great pictures. I know there's more to it than just "your phone has *x* sensor, so we can take some great pics". It's just a little annoying, is all.

Is there a way to fix dark video on modded gcams for Oreo roms?

Hello, i've been using arnova's modded gcams for a while, and noticed that video recording is extremelly dark, and sometimes get black screen flashes on it, not even close to photo's quality.
The only camera that seems to be doing an extremelly good job with videos is the oneplus modded one, but it lacks a lot of features.
Actually the image quality of the modded Gcam is shocking when enabling hwhdr on debugging and setting hdr to high, video doesn't stand a chance. As it doesn't happen only on one app, I believe it is a system or a camera2api configuration that the oneplus camera and the default camera ignores (I am running Pixel Experience, feb latest build, but it's a thing on every Oreo's ROM).
Is there anyone that knows about the topic any way or idea to debug it -be it from the camera source files or from the c2a settings-? It would be insane to have also the video ia for stabilization of the Gcam and maybe it can compare or be better than the OnePlus Camera.
Open to suggestions !
They is another problem with the modded gcam, when we select 60fps option camcorder the screen flickers while focusing and thats been recorded
There's nothing to do to check flickering, dark video and fix colours on preview? images looking a bit color-dead before obturation on some cameras, seems that only aplications that overrides those settings are working good. (modded gcams are dark and flickers on video, apps like instagram that doesnt obture gets a bit of lack of colours since preview doesnt do a bit of hwhdr to have an more accurate end result to obturation and also nicer looks on instagram photos). Seems to be a problem with the phone configuration since the camera can record well on other devices, and the op camera can record well on ours. Not like there are no ways around now, we can use both cameras and take the images with stock camera before uploading them but in long term it would be a nice improvement on social networks direct uploading, easier to take videos and photos on a single application (also to have gcam benefits as it is video stabilization). Sorry if I didn't explain myself properly, im not so good at english. Also, I didnt develop directly for android/camera but if someone with a bit of idea gives me the hand I can check out the settings. I don't have so much free time to learn now but as a developer with a couple of tips on the topic maybe I can find a way around to check those settings. Or if an experienced developer with time and will to do it I can help out maybe. I believe it's worth to give it a look

snapchat camera fix

The camera on Snapchat is super zoomed in compared to normal. I searched on Google, and it seems to be because Snapchat uses video (instead of photo) camera and takes a screenshot of the viewfinder.
Is there a fix for this that we can implement? I don't mind rooting/Magisk/Xposed. I checked the working Magisk modules thread here, but found nothing related to Snapchat.
Thank you!
The problem is, that Snapchat is using the fullscreen viewfinder (I think its 19.5 : 9) and in the camera app it 4:3.... thats the problem and sadly there are currrently (ever since) no fixes

Question Bad quality when taking a photo in instagram

Hi! i dont know if is my phone that is broken or me, i dont know. When you open the instagram camera, the quality is ok, but when you do a photo, it loses a lot of quality, like if it wad blurry. Can someone help me?
The real reason Snapchat photos taken on Android phones look terrible
Android phones often have similar or better cameras than iPhones. But on Snapchat, it’s not even close. Here's why.

It says snapchat but it's actually true for instagram and whatsapp as well

try update Instagram to latest version
I don't know exactly why that happens.. maybe it's a compatibility issue.
But the solution to that is: you have to take the pictures with your standard camera app, then upload it to Instagram. This way you will preserve your picture quality. ♥

idk if its new to you but taking pictures from third party apps (whatsapp, office, facebook etc...) always end up crappier than the camera app
Its actually because these apps compress image thats why, No worry.
