Guide me to choose ROM for My Tab S SM-T800 - Galaxy Tab S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

HEllo everyone,
Please help me choose a ROM for my tab S. Model SM-T800. running Android 6.0.1 completely stock. I do not think it is rooted. and I do not have custom recovery installed as well.
Why do I want to go for custom ROM?
The stock system is still running very stable but there is a lot samsung apps that runs and take up a lot space.
I want microSD enabled that allows me to install app on it.
Even though the tab is running very stable but I feel it is slowing down.
I dont play games.
I would appreciate if someone guides me in right direction.
Thank you.

N7 just arrived. First steps?

Hey folks,
my Nexus 7 just arrived and I am wondering what the first steps should look like.
I am not completely unfamiliar with Android, as I owned a Samsung Galaxy a few years ago, but since then I didn't really have had any more contact with it.
What I'd like is to install a nice custom rom, which is simple yet good looking and has a good battery runtime, etc.
As far as I know the Google stock Android is rather smooth so it could also be a modified original rom. I'm not sure about de-odex vs. odexed. What would be preferable?
Can you suggest the best ROM for that purposes? Ideally it should have a readme on how to install
Also do I need to unlock bootloaders or root the phone in advance or does the custom rom does all that for me?
Thanks in advance and best regards,
daZza

WiFi, 2013 Version.
To start with I just installed the Google USB Drivers and that Android SDK ADT Package thingy (all-in-one with Eclipse, etc.). Hope that's right xD
Edit: wugfreshs' tool seems to be the way to go. However, I am still unclear on whether or not to update my N7 with the newest update? I just got a message that there are updates available...
Edit2: Well, seems easy enough to use. Driver Test was successful, so I'll just go ahead and unlock/root it. Would appreciate ROM suggestions though
If you don't want me be messing with it I'd say stock rooted is the way to go.
Odex files help apps load faster I believe, and Roms are de-odexed to allow customizations such as icons and theming.
I really recommend sticking with a stock rooted ROM. Android is so polished theses days I don't see the need to mess with a good thing.

It's basically Stock but with minor improvements (pre-rooted, init.d support, slimmed down etc.)
Well if I was you the first thing I would do is update my stock rom then the next thing I would do is root the tablet with the Nexus root toolkit toolkit provided by WuGFresh.
Use the root toolkit to install the USB drivers then to unlock the bootloader there to root your Nexus 7 tablet
After your tablet is rooted load up the Google Play Store and download the app multi rom manager this app will allow you to to install Multi rom which will allow you to install multiple roms on your Nexus 7 tablet and it will also install TWRP recovery manager for you as well.
When you have multirom installed you can add a second third or fourth rom without ever touching or harming your stock ROM. As for a custom ROM I just flashed CyanogenMod 11 on my Nexus 7 2013 model Flo WiFi only tablet. Just download the latest nightly to get Android 4.4.1 or you can go with 10.2 for a "stable" ROM but the nightly is working great.
When you flash CyanogenMod don't forget to flash Google apps the GApps zip file.
As for adding ROMs with multirom you can do a YouTube search for the exact steps...bit it is quite easy. CyanogenMod or CM rather is the Cadillac of Android Roms and looks/runs great.
As for others I would probably recommend AOKP I have heard good things about it...
Many people like Paranoid Android. I tried it but did not care for it. I did not care for the rom not being rooted, but that is just my opinion.
You can't go wrong with CyanogenMod ROM.
Hope it helps and congrats on getting your N7.

Thanks for all the help.

[Q] help me choose a ROM

I'm pretty new to all of this and still a bit tentative. I have searched quite a bit and learned a lot but I still generally feel overwhelmed when I try to read threads specific to certain ROMS.
I recently got a Tab 3.7 (SM-T210R) and have managed to root it and install PhilzTouch.
I also installed RocketTab Lite which was good but I realise what I want is all the Samsung stuff gone, so it feels more like a simple android device.
So, I'm trying to figure out what ROM would suit me best.
Also, it is only 8GB and even with almost no apps (or media) it seems to be almost a third full. So far I haven't got Link2SD to work. Will another ROM allow me to move apps to the SD like I could in my phone?
Thanks for any advice anyone can give.

Thanks. Can you flash a Kit Kat ROM on a tab that has jellybean, or do you have to upgrade first?
Also, that says it is for a Tab 3.10, would it work with the Tab 3.7?

CAGrom is made only for the Tab 3 10. You can find roms for the 7 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-3/development-7
I don't know anything about the roms for that device. though, XDA generally prohibits suggestions as it is all about experiencing and experimenting finding the right fit that you want. I suggest looking at the roms at the link above and see if any might interest you there. good luck.

Looking for clean KK ROM suggestions.

So I just rooted and installed TWRP on my Tab Pro 8.4. Now I would like to install a clean KK, de-bloated and deoxed stock ROM or anything close to it. I see a few of them in the ROM section but it seems they have been either abandoned by the developer or just simply not ready for mass consumption. I use this tablet for work so I can't really afford to experiment endlessly, so I was hopping you guys can suggest a good working ROM or point me in the right direction. Thanks for any help.

[HELP] Samsung Galaxy Pro SM-P900

Hey guys, I am a complete noob when it comes to this. Last time I installed any recovery or flashed a ROM was on my Nexus 4, years ago. I have found my Samsung Galaxy Pro (10.1") SM-P900 lying around and this thing is still on Android Version 5.0.2.
I'd like to install a recovery, root, and flash a ROM, or an upgraded software version. I'm sorry if that doesnt make sense but I just want this device to start running faster and I'd like to slowly get back to flashing ROMs on it depending on my liking.
Could you guys kindly link me to other threads that deal with my exact problem? Or please let me know here what I can or at least where I can start? Any thread I look for already has people on advanced steps or they're using a different device. ANY help is appreciated. Thank you so much.
Well, you should start here. Lots of reading though!

SM-T520 Looking For A Basic Rom Android 5.0 or Higher

Hi, I have been away from modding and roms for quite a while, and to be honest I have forgotten most of what I knew about it all. I have a T520 and it is currently rooted and running a Android 4 rom. I want to use it to view my Eufy Cams but in order for that app to work it needs to be on Android 5.0 or higher. I am looking for a simple setup and a stable and basic rom if possible. I literally use this tablet for nothing else, so the most important thing is being able to use that app. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.
Look at this, its doing a great job for most of the sm-t520 users here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...7-1-xsm-t520-unofficial-lineage-14-1-t3538770
Its Android 7.1.1
