Hey guys, I'm wondering if any of you have the same problem as I do. Currently, I'm having a keyboard problem where if I press enter too quickly after my last keystroke, the keyboard would visually become stuck on my screen until I either press home, or select another input area to type again. I've had this problem from the beginning when I bought this phone (Dec, 2017) and it's becoming an annoyance since I type pretty fast. Does anyone else have this issue? For the record, I'm on the unlocked Pixel 2 XL latest Oreo 8.1 build.
Steps that I've taken to try and fix this problem:
1. Deleted cache/data from GBoard app data.
2. Rebooted device.
3. Downloaded other keyboards from app store like Swiftkey (still same issue)
I've recorded a sample of my screen for you guys to see. My last resort is doing a factory reset, but I really don't want to (lots of data on my phone) unless it's 100% guaranteed to fix the issue. Any tips/suggestions is appreciated!
Unable to replicate that. Is it only with that browser?

Hello everyone. I've read a few different forums that show some G3 owners complaining about lag. My previous phone was the NOTE 2. I didn't notice any lag on the G3 UNTIL I tried using OK Google. On the Note2 it was instant. After a reboot it's normal. So I updated to the newest version of Google Search and still there is a 2-3 second delay before the mic becomes active. I did the Google Everywhere to activate OK Google on all screens and it still isn't any better.UNLESS after a reboot. Is anyone else experiencing this delay? It's only been since Friday for me so if it's only me I'll reset to factory and start fresh.
FYI Stock, no root, on Dalvik never changed, I think, lol.
Hey guys!
So just as the subject reads, the phone from time to time can't connect to my camera and I just get a black screen. Switching between the front and back when this happens triggers the error message and tells me to send a diagnostic report to Google. One of the things I tried was to force close the camera process and still nothing. Only fix is to reboot the phone, but eventually in a day or two the camera will crash again.
Just to rule out any kind of corruption, I wiped the phone to factory settings via recovery and the phone still behaves like this. One of the apps I noticed does not play well with the phone is snapchat (current beta). The app is super laggy and wondering if this could cause the camera overall to eventually crash. Any ideas or thoughts are welcome!
Overall I'm kind if disappointed with the performance of the phone over several days. Upon reboot its quick and over a day or two the phone gets pretty sluggish, even locking up at times for a few seconds without being able to do anything. Sometimes exiting an app and going to the main screen takes a solid 5 to 10 seconds.
Yeah the camera app is very, very bugging. Really hoping there'll be an update that fixes the problems with that and 3rd party cameras.

I though I was the only one, the camera takes forever to open and bogs the whole system down, I just the l got the security updates and no camera bugs were addressed

Actually that's exactly the way my Nexus 4 behaved, which was the main reason I had to replace it now. Hope 5X won't do that, or I'd be pretty pissed off. I thought it was a hardware issue, but now according to what you write I suspect this might relate to some application installed.
I'll add myself to the list. Sometimes It doesn't even make picture, just get stuck and does nothing for a while, then for whatever reason it start shooting a sequence of pointless picture. Many times it take 2 pics in a row, like a not asked, not wanted crappy pointless multishot
Camera was completely fine for me until I got an OTA update 2 days ago and now its completely dog ****. Freezes for a while when I open the app, and crashes if I turn the phone to landscape.
I just rooted my phone and camera stopped working. Reset to default did nothing.
I'm on B29K. Do I need to downgrade?

How exactly did you root? And if you flashed a modified boot.img, which one fid you flash? Also, what does "reset to default" mean? Does this mean that you flashed the factory image for MMB29K?

Starting today, my camera opens to a blank black screen when I launch the app. If I reboot the phone, I can successfully launch the camera app and take photos. However, if I attempt to use the camera built into Android Messages, Facebook, and even the bar code scanner app I have installed, the issue starts again. I have tried uninstalling the updates to the camera app, clearing data, and I even did a factory restore. I booted up into safe mode, then duplicated the issue there as well (this eliminates 3rd party apps as the cause). Some other threads I have read say to toggle Bluetooth or turn on airplane mode. Nothing fixes the problem.
I hopped in chat with Google Support and they had me follow this guide (which didn't fix anything). They requested the factory reset. After the factory reset, they required me to gather a bug report to send to them. I requested a replacement device, but the support technician declined and said this issue isn't something that can get a replacement device. I am very irritated I spent so much money on this device and it is already (two and a half weeks later) starting to not work.
Has anyone else on the Pixel 3 XL had this issue? Any other recommendations to fix it?
try flash-all.bat from googles factory images. could be a corrupt persist partition
I don't have an unlocked bootloader. That's required for that, right? Would I need an unlocked bootloader to flash the image?

Blank camera screen when camera opened from from another app
I have the same issue with my pixel 3 xl. Blank camera when it's opened with messages app, fb, WhatsApp, Instagram, fb messages. Called Google support and they had me clear cache, uninstall cam updates restart phone and in the end factory reset but it didn't fix it. They can't identify if it's a software issue. They even had me boot up in safe mode and had screen sharing session.
After multiple calls and hours of troubleshooting, Google will be replacing my phone. Hopefully the new phone don't have this problem.
No luck for me, unfortunately. I unlocked the bootloader and flashed the factory image. The issue persisted after the flash. I contact Google Support again and they continue to tell me the issue is going to be resolved by engineering and they will not replace the defective device. Total bummer for such an expensive brick.
On support contact #3, Google has decided to replace the device for me. Just FYI, in case anyone else has this problem with their phone. I asked for a manager during contact #2 and didn't hear anything back for 24 hours. The person I got on #3 was very nice and assisted in the replacement order.
Had the same issue with 2 of my pixel 2 xl phones. First one was sent away for 2 weeks and then replaced. replacement one lasted a couple months before it had the same issues, I demanded a RMA from google so i could get it swapped in store. The second phone that was replaced lasted a day, it had a weird bright screen flash when locking, unlocking, hanging up from a call etc. That was also RMA and returned and replaced in store.
Hope my 3 doesn't have these issues.
camera hardware is crashing when used by any app other than the "Camera" app
I have the same issues during one week. What I find is the playground and any app other than the "Camera" app attempts to access the camera hardware, the camera itself becomes unresponsive.* After that, the camera cannot be accessed by any application, including the "Camera" app. There Google support told me the engineers will fix that problem. But I'm not sure if that's a hardware issue or software issues.
I'm wondering if this is a November update issue - anyone try flashing back to first release?
Similar issue here, on November, will try to flash november again and test.
Edit:
and..... did not fix a thing. Looks like it is hardware related or if there is a hardware rev in a specific part that is not coded properly.
I can assure you that it is not an issue with November patch or any patch. I have this issue and I am still running with the stock September security patch that came with the phone. I was hoping that updating to the latest patch would fix the issue, but now I'm beginning to think that won't resolve the problem.

I'm the new one ?
Same problem here ?
Hello
I am using my Google Poxel 3a XL for 2 weeks without anyproblem until a few days ago the keyboard started to bring up more slowly after I unlock the screen. I have to wait for a few seconds until I can access the typing box. I changed the keyboard app to other than Gboard and it still persisted. No modification of the phone I put in. If anyone experienced or have any solution with this please share yours.
Thanks in advance.
I am facing random freezing and reeboting issue with my pixel 6. It happens more than 7/8 times a day. Very annoying and Google is not responding to this issue. There are many similar complains like this in Google forum and there is no proper reply from Google. December update didn't fix the issue. Is it hardware issue or software? Help please.
Tried a factory reset? Are you rooted? Are you able to unlock the bootloader? If so, try flashing the full firmware image or Official Google Android Flash Tool.
If none of that helps, I'd exchange it with Google for a new replacement. Good luck!

My one freezes randomly and not specifically for any reason or for any apps.
Do you have the december update installed? Try to disable all your Accessibility Services from the settings.
[Update: A fix is coming] Google Pixel 6 owners are facing an annoying screen freezing issue
If you own a Pixel 6 or Pixel 6 Pro and are affected by the screen freezing bug, there’s a temporary workaround to resolve the issue.

Random rebooting seems to be a "common" Pixel 6 problem. Most were only able to fix it by getting a new device from Google, some were able to fix it with a factory reset.
Strangely enough, I had the same problems on my first Pixel 6 - then I got a replacement model, got the backup from my old phone (p4 xl) going (again) and never had any reboot problems. Then a couple days ago I rooted my Pixel 3 and transfered my files over from my main Pixel 6 Pro and got the same reboot problem on my Pixel 3 now (~about every 10 minutes of active usage). I found out that it's probably connected to the fingerprint scanner, since about every third time that I use the FP on my P3, the phone reboots. I'll probably try a factory reset on my P3, since I know that the phone worked without issue before. It was probably an unwise idea to get a backup from my P6 going, but then again, F*** Google for not giving us a decent file transfer system. If the only way to get a functioning product is to get a replacement or start with a clean slate, that's a joke in 2021.
That tells me that it's a software issue, but since it's hard to pinpoint/replicate and at least with some P6 Pro users even a factory reset was not able to help, you might have to get a replacement model.

Even vibration?
I wondered that as well. I also turn off animations. The phone switches screens faster and the fingerprint scanner works better sans animations.
May be a coincidence but.....
I have never had this problem until today.
I usually have animations off. Set them to 0.5 today and my phone froze twice.
I've turned animations off again.
(I also have accessibility services off and have not changed that)
