Hi all,
I needed original Build.prop, Boot and stock recovery from my RUU package. I successfully extracted the zip file from .exe file. But I found many zip files (about 25 zip files) in the rom.zip and I couldn't extract any of those 25 zip files. Is there any way to un-zip those files to get stock files to use later?

Wondering if all zip files (apps, obviously) are flashable. Suppose I download an app in a Zip file and I flash it using CWM, does it get flashed and turn into a system file? I have also noticed that there a images in a few zips I've downloaded and extracted (using androzip). What happens to these images when i flash the zip?
Seriously confused.
Apps and .zips are two different things.
You cant install apps through flashing(Except if someone has made a flashable .zip)
Also apps are not in .zip/.rar format they are in .apk and can be installed through your file manager
Thats why we have a FAQ thread stuck in the section... pls ask questions there..
i have decompressed a rom to modify a file in it, and i have compressed the folder again but while intalling it in recovery i get bad zip file.
Is there something i should do while compressing the folder in order to make it work in recovery?
okay i tried searching for this but could not find anything,
i have tried and opened a gapps zip package on my mac while using the extract option, then when i compress it again and flash it an error pops up on twrp. Is there a way to properly zip it up again? sorry if this sounds ridiculous but i just want to learn how to do this on my mac...any help is greatly appreciated....

If you extracted it and a gapps folder appeared. Then you should not zip/compress the gapps folder because doing so will make the structure like this:
gapps.zip --> gapps folder --> files
So actually you have to compress/zip the files inside the gapps so the newly zipped folder will contain the files directly and keep the original structure which is:
gapps.zip --> files
I hope that is clear
As an alternative solution, just download the zipped gapps again and flash it without extracting and compressing it
I read somewhere that Google has changed the system used for the standard update zip file.
Therefore you have to convert some .dat files to .img files and .img files to a standard readable folder.
This I understand, however how do I reverse the process above to get back to the .dat file and get a lolipop compatible flashable zip?
Hi,
I want to create a flashable zip file for the G4, so I wanted to know if I need to extracted the boot/modem partition (for the Genesis G4 rom) with jest extracting the .kdz file and then just removing the .bin extension?
I'm pretty new to creating zip files so i just wanted to be sure that removing the extension from the bin file is the correct way to get the boot/modem files.
thnx ahead
