after connecting my moto z play to pc using cable i cant access the media folder of whatsapp as it appears as an unrecognised file any help please
In media protocol sometimes files are not visible. Try restart you phone and then access them from pc. If this doesn't work you can always copy this folder to sd card and after that use microsd card reader.
Do you have TWRP?

Hello.
I have mp3s in a folder on a 4GB SD card ... during the day i use resco audio recorder to play them.... for some reason I have been getting files (256k in size) that show up as a box in FILE EXPLORER or RESCO EXPLORER (they have no properties; creation date, name, etc) I cannot delete them.... any suggestions?
thank you for your time
just try first to do a soft-reset on your device, then try to delet it, if it doesn't work, u can simply erase it using active sync via your pc desktop....
doesnt work...
I tried taking the SD out and using windows xp {FAILED}
I tried active sync as you suggested {FAILED}
I tried from within using File Explorer, and Resco {FAILED}
and yes I tried soft resetting.
Thanks for your help.
Any other ideas?
qu1nn
anyone?
i think the next thing u should try is using an external USB memory card reader for desktop pc, it will be detected as mass storage, you can try delete it using windows explorer.. hope this will help.. anyone has another suggestion?
Hi, first off, I have used the search button to find a solution and have not been able to find one. I have a T mobile Dash and a SanDisk 8BG micro SD. I flashed the device with the 080314 rom and I am able to see the large SD. At first I was able to drag mp3s to the SD through file explorer and they copied to the SD. Now when I try to drag a file I get a circle with a diagonal line indicating that the drag n drop is not allowed. I cannot drag a file to any location of the device not just the SD. Any help would be appreciated.

First of all, are you using ActiveSync (for Windows XP) or Windows Mobile Device Center (for Windows Vista)? I'm only familiar with ActiveSync... On ActiveSync you should make sure that your USB connection is not disabled. Go to File -> Connections -> then click the appropriate button to enable USB connectivity. Hope this helps.
Hey Rip, I am using ActiveSync 4.5 in XP. I found that if I use the Shortcut that ActiveSync created on the desktop I can copy the files. I will let you know if the problem returns. Thanks for the fast reply.

thanx dude.how about apk file from the pc using usb?
Astro File Manager from the marketplace is an application that allows you to access information on your sd card. If you download an apk to your computer you simply transfer the file to your phone's micro sd card via usb then you open Astro File Manager. Once there all the contents of your Sd card are displayed and you can simply tap on the apk your transferred and hit install.

if you would rather do a large batch install
try android commander, i think you can find it in the g1 forums

another option is eoeinstaller from the market.

Moto G5 XT1676
LineageOS 15.1 / Magisk 16.0
PC: win7 x64 pro
i connect my phone per usb to pc and select transfer files
in the explorer moto g5 i can select and i can navigate through all my folders(internal and sd card)
e.g. titanium backup folder on the internal storage i want to copy the backup files to my win 7 pc
i select 470 files press copy and select a folder on my win7 and paste... but no files would be transfered.. no message pops up, and nothing is transfered
i tried same with pictures to trasfer them.. can select them(they are all in the folder on internal storage) copy them and want to paste them in a folder but paste process just wont start without error message
same happens when i try to copy files from th external sd card....
problems seems to hunt me down on every step i do ~_~
If doing a media rescan doesn't help I suggest you take a logcat whilst trying to copy files and give it to the rom developer
Use this app to media rescan - you may get several force closes whilst doing it - just click reopen app or something like that - also make sure there is no USB connected whilst you scan
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.house.noranuko.mediarescanner
As a work around you can try enabling adb debugging & then using adb to pull the folders
Or
Boot to recovery & try copying the files whilst in recovery (my official twrp fully supports MTP but I don't know about the 64bit version)
in short, fixed the transfer problem by installing "MyPhoneExplorer"
App+Software for PC
