I need help entering recovery mode on a Tesla style Head unit. The issue is the unit has no physical button and it stuck on the android logo. I tried using an external keyboard and hold down “ALT, PRNTScrn, E” I was able to access the recovery mode with the message “No command” I have no selection screen. Are there any other keyboard combination I can use?

Not that I know of. The only trouble shoot procedure I got from the seller was to put the firmware on a thumb drive and see if it’d but it didn’t

Hello everyone,
I installed the Tesla style Unit in my 2016 mustang. It turns on, The steering wheel controls works and everything looks like its working when the car is not running. But when I start the car, in 10 seconds or so I see that the rpms and speed are stuck, and the steering wheel control is not working anymore. Also, like after 5 mins or so the system goes black and I have to turn off and turn back on the car to be able to restart it. Does anyone know what could be the problem? thanks.
This is the unit info:
MCU_Ver: 860B_ZHONGM_E05-2.9
FrameworkVer: rkpx3-eng6.0.1KTU84Q
OSVer: 3.0.36+ Mon Mar 26 15:13:26 CST 2018
Nandflash: 26.36G/27.67G
RAM: 643M/2G
Just a bump.
The screen you saw that said "no command" is in fact the recovery.
On newer Android phones there's multiple steps to enter the recovery, and you only did the first step.
Power device off.
Volume down and power to boot to recovery.
Recovery screen comes up as "no command"
Quickly hold power and tap volume up (or volume down, it differs)
The no command screen goes away and it allows you to access the rest of the recovery
i'm in a pickle and hope you guys could help us.
we bought the phoenix android radio for our 2018 F150. they told us to update the CANBUS, we did that, right after it went 100%, the screen blacked out and didn't turn back on. tried to hold the RST button for 20 seconds, nothing happens. tried removing the car battery and holding the RST button, still nothing.
is there any way to reinstall the CAN update via recovery?
any idea how to fix this?

You only need a hard Reset , shut down your phone , hold volum down and power , make a hard reset and you good to go
thumbs up...
its working now, loving ICS, but hate the 80 character limit in sms, is there a workaround for that ???
You can use gosms to get around the limit!but you also need to set the correct SMS center number.
Ahhhh..... with GOSms the limit increases to 147 characters... above 147 characters the sms sending fails...

Here you can download the engineer version of ICS, works perfectly with ROOT & CWM. After flashing this you can flash any latest ICS and root it.

Can't hook back to the network after lost signal
I flashed the official ICS successfully and installed the latest firmware update to it too, but every time I lose signal (elevator, tunnel, etc.), the phone can't hook back up to the network, so I stay out of reach until I notice it and turn the 3G/4G toggle in the notificaiton bar on/off once, then it hooks back up to the network. Any ideas?

thanks, bro, I typed 5457 # * 6200 # in the keypad, and the phone was set on the "Global + LTE" option by dedault, so I changed it to Auto GSM/WCDMA, since my provider doesn't yet have an LTE network up and running, and now all is well It seems that it has just been searching for an LTE network first, and when it couldn't find it, just hung and stayed out of service...

So far, yes. All their buzz (what little of it there is) is about the update for the Be Pro (which they also haven't released.).
Which is sad, because this is a rock solid phone; my only complaint after 2.5 months is the lack of the promised update, which was supposed to happen 1.5 months ago..

You can update a phone with an app if you want:
http://stackoverflow.com/questions/25587474/how-can-i-flash-zip-in-recovery-from-an-app-in-android
They just have to want to do it. We should ask ule.
BTW, I'd ask for a better camera management in a kk updated rom: the sensor is not bad at all
The ROM With FOTA menu enabled is located here:
http://www.android-hilfe.de/ulefone-forum/667345-ulefone-one-fw-update-anleitung.html
To fix satellites I followed this guide:
0) Enter Engineering menu dialing these numbers *#*#3646633#*#*
1) Select Engineering mode for MTK
2) Select YGPS -> Information -> and tap on 'AGPS restart'
3) Exit YGPS and select LocationBasedService.
4) Select AGPS -> Enable A-GPS
5) Select GPS
6) Select FULL
7) Tap on Ref Position and see if some location datas are present: enter your current position (Lat,Long) if it's empty. Select ok.
8) Let the GPS start by tapping on GPS (OFF). It will become 'ON' and will procede with fixing the position
9) Tap on GPS (ON), it will become OFF
10) Select HOT instead of FULL
11) Enter Ref Position and tap 'Apply Last Position'.
12) Reboot
13) Install GPS Status & Toolbox and see if it fixes satellites easily

Ulefone Be One Problem
Hello
I had some problem with loading ROM on my Ulefone Be One(because of drivers). When I was doing that i had to restart my phone several times. Now when I finally made it i turn on my phone and all what I get is brighter screen. I waited for about 30/40 seconds and just swipe up the screen with my finger and i heard the sound of unlocking(so that probably means that everything is OK with ROM).
Any suggestions what to do now?
I ended spending a fair amount of time chasing down a working root method, in the interest of saving time for anyone else who is looking I wanted to post the steps I took.
1.) Settings > Factory Settings > Enter Password: *#hct#root#
2.) Install Kingo Root: https://root-apk.kingoapp.com/kingoroot-download.htm
3.) Install SuperSU
3.) Install SuperSU Me: https://sites.google.com/site/androidxdacom/file/supersu-me-v6.7.apk?attredirects=0
Device will reboot, you'll want to update the SSU binary, and you'll be good to go.

I have the double din 7 inch in my wrx, finding a proper trim kit that fit around the unit for me was tricky.. as they are a few mm bigger side to side and up an down that standard double dins. But was able to finally find one that was seamless for the wrx. Personally love mine. The pioneers and alpine are getting better but still think my joying is superior.. that's just my opinions.

I've got an MTCD in the mail and am trying to figure out the best way to take control over it.
That part about "kingo root" is scary as all hell. Who knows what its doing! And despite replacing it later on with "supersu" (which is not much less frightening, since it too is closed source), that is no guarantee that you are removing all remnants of it.
I suggest that this is not a good process to follow.
From what I understand, the recovery on these devices does NOT enforce signed updates. That means that the proper way to install something like this, is to inject it directly into an update. Just skip the exploit step altogether.
/////CANCEL QUESTION: One question I have though; what does the factory settings password actually do?//////
Answer: This turns on root. The silly things comes WITH ROOT ALREADY AVAILABLE!
Its actually better to NOT install any kind of root (kingoroot or supersu), since its already there, just blocked from the android side. This is more secure than leaving the device open to potential exploit, and gives you an avenue to go in and mess with things.
I
I am attempting this method and followed your instructions. I got a message that said adb root and I installed king root and my device rebooted. Super SU says my device is not rooted and Super-Sume gets stuck at "Preparing environment please wait..."
Can I get help?
Anyone know if it is possible to install TWRP? Anyone tried?
Well mine worked fine, then supersu app disappeared and reboot, now I'm stuck with bootloop and can't get into recovery!! Help! RK3188 800*480 MTCD.

Hi guys, I was able to fix my HU which was completely munted by following this thread.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...lopment/rom-malaysk-roms-mtcd-device-t3385309
I used the SD tool to create a boot card, then got the error which is shown in the thread then followed the next page which tells you to use the SD card and a USB thumb drive with the update file on it.
When the error shows up you eject the SD card and the system goes to recovery. Use the install from USB and clear all function and it does its thing.
The joying screen showed up for some time (about 5-10mins) but after booted to system and I'm in business again.
Don't follow my instructions here this is just a brief explanation of what I did, use the link above and try all steps and follow carefully.
Attached photo of the error screen I had in recovery FYI.
Please note this was after I used root method of factory settings code, king root and super su and I did have root access/ the binaries updated etc etc, so don't be scared to try as you can recover your system.
Also the firmware I used was the latest 5.1.1 from Joying website.
My unit is: RK3188 (800*480) MTCD which shipped in December 2016 with android 5.1.1.

anyone?
An FYI,
I just got an Eonon GA 2155 w/ Android 5.1.1.
I tried other rooting methods without any success.
I used Kingoroot and it worked great. Compared to my Galaxy phones, a pie of cake.
Thanks to the OP
joying 5.1.1
I don't see a factory settings menu! Did they hide it or are my glasses in need of an upgrade.

They moved it to car settings and removed the ability to root through factory settings. (password for factory settings is 3368) there is no * or # button. Can someone please find a work around?!?!

i tried hooking up an USB keyboard to be able to type in the missing characters, but no success.
Lineage OS Splash screen for Mi A1 a.k.a. tissot
Unlocked bootloader required for installation!
Not tried on other phone models, neither I suggest you to...
Splash screen is the content (images) on the screen that appears before bootanimation (the phone start-up animation).
As you know, once we unlock our phone's bootloader, we get an ugly message reading 'Bootloader has been unlocked, device could not be verified...' every time the phone starts/restarts:

So, I created this splash screen replacement to hide that annoying warning. Also, I do most of the tinkering with custom ROMs on my Mi A1 at night, and restarting with a white screen on full brightness kind of makes my eyes bleed, so every possible screen is now with black background. Refer images:
The critical error screen, and fastboot screen are kept stock, as those were black already:
Pre-requisites:
Unlocked bootloader
A PC with adb drivers
A backup of stock Splash-screen (Refer Below)
New splash file to flash (Refer below)
Installation steps:
Reboot to fastboot/bootloader mode or start the phone by pressing [Vol down] + [Power].
Connect the phone to PC and paste the splash file to folder containing the adb files.
While in the adb folder, press [Shift]+[Right Click] and select 'Open Powershell Window Here'/'Open Command Prompt Window Here'
Enter command 'fastboot devices'. This will return the list of devices connected. This is to ensure that your device has been connected properly.
Enter command 'fastboot flash splash <spash image name>.img', where <spash image name> is to be replaced with the name of image you are flashing. Once the command finishes executing, power on the phone, and Voila!
Confirmed to be working on Pie based Roms(Personally Tested)

I have attached the stock splash file in pre-requisite steps, in case you run into an error or don't like the new splash or want to visit service center, and want to revert.

No, I mean screenshot for the "lineage splashscreen"
Has anyone else tested this splash image?
This is it as a flashable zip. Thank me later.
Is it possible to make a black version of the stock Xiaomi splash animation like in the OP? Tired of seeing the warning screen as well but I'm currently on PE so the LOS one doesn't really fit.

I installed the StockDark splash screen and when i rebooted the phone the image apeared laggy (like a TV without signal, with green lines all over the screen), tried it again and it happened aswell, so I installed the LineageDark one and works great.
Thank you, hope you can fix it
Can someone please provide a flashable zip file for Stock Black ?

In this one both the fastboot screen and splash screen are just noisy image with lines over and over (as explained by posts above). Used the lineage black one for now. That one works with no problem.

Really sorry man, to you and to all others who flashed the buggy image. The thing is I have reverted my Mi A1 to fully stock, and have bought OnePlus 7 as my primary device.
Nevertheless, I will be posting an updated and fixed dark stock image tonight or tomorrow night. Please check if it solves the problem.

In your video you show a Dasaita head unit which is an MTCD/E unit, and you used an update file for a different type of head unit

Yes i know, i dont know who has ride me there...
I was a stupid young (46) Boy and have drink to mutch beer ;-)
But now i can only use the Mask Mode to ReInstall it and for that i need the install.IMG file OR ??
I believe your max 10 has a hdmi output on the back? You can use that for another screen to see what you are doing to install the proper update.
People are too quick to update for no reason, and they often get into trouble as a result. NEVER do system updates unless there is a SPECIFIC NEED.
I have try this before but with no input on the TV.
I think this HMDI is only for a Video player.
1- download a firmware for px6 .img
2- install it with usb method (purple usb)
3- download the latest firmware 202101 (update.zip) and put it on a usb stick
4- enter recovery and install it
5- do a wipe and restart
...
if this does not work, the only method is to take the coreboard and repeat the whole procedure on a radio with a resolution of 1024x600

It's an output. Not in input. I have used it before for another touchscreen

I have try it again, but without luck.
The TV goes from NO SIGNAL to a Black Screen.
It looks like the HDMI Out is only a Mirror of the internal Display.
I have now Install a Android 9 Recovery this WAY.
And if i now click 4 time short and 1 times long - 1 short - 1 long the RST Button the Soft-Buttons are flashing.
It looks like i am in the Recovery. But i dont knowwhat i am pushing.
Can anyone give me a Picture of the Andorid 9 Recovery Menu ?
And please a second Picture if you pressed Apply system and MCU Update. That i know what i must push.
EDIT: Found out, that the lights only flashing if i have a update.img on USB OR SD Card in the device.
The recovery menu is the same.
One click to go down to update system or 2 clicks down to update MCU, then a LONG click to select/enter
Make sure you have your sd card or usb in and ready to go

Are you Sure ?
Anyone knows what i Click if the Softbuttons are Flashing ?
If it is right what Bob_Sanders says, it must be the Wipe Data/Factory Reset.
Have it BACK ;-)
The hint is to install the
DMCU.ext for 1280x720 units: View attachment dmcu-1280x720.zip
Found here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...pdates-for-dasita-px6-1280x720-max10.4173669/
Can someony give me a hint what i must make next ?
I have try to install the 8,.1 image.img (thats the only i found).
But it doesend work, if try to install it over the Recovery System (Pic last Post) i only geht /dev/... not exist.
or no directory
I have Flash on the SoC the 8.1 update.img.
But what must i do with the SD-Card ?
EDIT:
I have put the Recovery 10 Img on the SOC.
- Starting without SD-Card doesend work. Under 1 second i get the 10. NAvigation Multimedia" Picture Black Screen without Backlight. Nothing else happents, the Device only consume 0,1 Amp.
- Starting with a blank SD-Card Format in Fat32 is the same like the first point.
- Starting with a SD-Card format with the SD-Card Tool and the Recovery 10 img as SD-Boot works. I came into the Recovery 10 Menu. But i cant install there a update, everytime i get the error that the /dev/ not exists.
- Put an USB Stick with the Recovery on it on the purple USB doesend work. Same like the first point.
Any Ideas ?
I have it running again.
My problem was that I only have one SD card that works. The other ones I used did not show any errors, but do not work in the PX6 for installation/updates.
Only apparently I still have a hardware brig.
The first logo with the 10 comes absolutely clean, but after that the graphics rather reminds me of a Comodore VC20. Even the font in the recovery is not properly displayed as already seen in the pictures above.
Attached are two videos of how it currently looks:
I have now ordered as a first measure times the cable between motherboard and screen new, that should arrive tomorrow. Otherwise, I would only think of the SOM as a source of error OR?
After figuring out the the dmcu.ext is basically a text file and the only thing in it is screen:x x being a number. The number representing a resolution in relation to what MCU and OS. The default of 1280x720 is 12 on all of the dmcu.ext I could download. I read in most people changing it to 18 depending on which MCU you have installed is what i read. I also was not doing a factory reset erase all before I did an install. So I did the factory reset and the dmcu.ext with screen 12. nothing happened. I did it again with 18 nothing. The 3rd factory reset with screen:0 and on all of these I was using MTCE_HA_V3.62 for dmcu.img. When this one rebooted it had a black screen. I plugged a monitor to the hdmi output and I could see through the monitor just fime but I had to touch my head unit screen where I think it should be according to the monitor so I factory reset again with screen:13 in the dmcu.ext and when the head unit rebooted after installing it was the correct resolution..
Good you got it working again.
For the record....
I don't do updates at all anymore. It seems there is more of a risk to damage than any good that can come.

Same here.
If it works to my satisfaction, I have no need to update.
