[Q] Installed Cyanogenmod. Google Now access?

I installed TWRP and Cyanogenmod after I s-off'd my phone. Is there anyway I can enable swipe up for google now, like the stock rom? It's kind of annoying not having persistent access anymore.

No it's either a double tap or long press of the home key (not 100% sure), you cannot set it for the vertical swipe.

I miss that feature too. If they had it for both the home button and back button I can swipe up home screen Google now, hold for menu, double tap for recent apps, and for the back button, swipe up for kill app, hold for search, and I'll leave double tap alone so I can still go back fast. oh it would be sweeet

I know you can set gestures on Nova Launcher if that's an option for you.

That's only while on the home screen, though.
I set it so that holding the button launches voice search, but it doesn't give me access to my cards and stuff. They could partially solve this by allowing us to put app shortcuts in the quick settings panel, I suppose.

Hopefully, ROMs will soon add the swipe feature.

Try configuring the long press action to 'Search assistant' instead of voice search. That will show your cards.

I was trying to figure this out, too. I installed Swipe Home Button:

and made the swipe up action open Google Now. Swipe up from HTC logo, open google now. Seems to be working well.

Knock to Lock

Hey guys, loving this phone so far. Was wondering if there was an alternative to the double tap to lock feature if not using the stock lg g3 launcher. I am too accustomed to using nova and that is the only thing i can't get it to do anymore. ( I also like how i can use the "ok google" hotword from any screen while using nova) I can still use knock code and the double tap to turn on the screen, but i cant do it to lock the phone. Any suggestions? I have seen apps were i can tap the icon to lock and what not, just wondering if there is anything like the official lg feature where you can tap any open area on the home screen to lock the device. thanks!

If you stick to the stock launcher, a double tap locks the screen. Don't know any other launchers with that feature yet...
Edit: I got it to work in apex. Changed the behavior of a gesture and tired it to shortcuts--> activities--> soft lock
(Soft Lock) is an app I downloaded from the play store to test this.
I set it to double finger swipe up but you can set it to double tap too.

Thanks, i knew about this feature as well, i guess i could just keep using this.

Double tap to open google search

I have reverted back to stock rom but a useful feature that I miss was that I double tapped the desktop and it would open up google search.
Any ideas how to enable this on stock rom?

I don't know about double tap but if you swipe up on the miui launcher it should open Google search

Get a launcher with gestures. Then you can set that up yourself. I use Nova launcher which does this...

How to fix app drawer opening when swiping for recents?

Can anyone help me with this issue? I'm trying to use a custom launcher on my device (currently Hyperion, but tried others) How do I fix the app drawer opening when swiping for recents from the home screen, using gesture navigation? Like when I'm on the home page and swipe up and hold to open recents menu, it keeps opening the launcher app drawer.

I'm using Nova and I'm having the same problem. I do think there used to be an app made by Jawomo to customize gestures..hopefully someone has a workaround for this as its frustrating

Tried using a third party launcher and had the same issue. I think it's a one ui issue. Even when using good lock I tried switching the recent style and every time I swipe up to go home it brings up recents instead of going home

I'm using lawnchair2 and i had the same issue.
I fixed it by disabling swipe up gesture action on the dock

Try using the 3 location Samsung gestures instead of the Android 10 one. It's way smoother and doesn't have hiccups with 3rd party launchers. You can also get rid of the indicators so you have a completely clean screen, no bar at all on the bottom.
This coupled with onehandedgestures from good lock is way better than stock gestures imo.

Strange ,
i have Nova launcher Prime and have no such issues .!!
My swipe up from bottom ( middle ) opens Recents ..every time .
i think it could be wrong combo of settings ..or something like that ,you have configured it ?
My setup is ,I'm using Device /Settings /Navigation bar option "Swipe from sides and bottom "
My Nova Launcher Prime settings "Gestures " Re the swipe up action is set on" None"
Further my Nova /settings / Gestures ,Home button is set to "Default page ".
So i have no conflict in gestures .
( Samsung navigation , swipe up conflicting with Nova swipe up gestures ????)
I use pinch in gesture to open App drawer .
I also use Samsungs Good lock module, Tasks Changer ,which actually gives me an "animated icon "when i swipe up and hold for Recents .

Question How to use Nova launcher as default launcher? Please Read

Hello here are my current issues:
1. Settings the launcher to Nova in the settings will only work with button navigations.
- Using gesture navigation take you to nubia launcher if you use the home gesture on any app/screen
2. Even if you use the button navigations, whilst in Nova,
when going into recent app button, no matter if you clear or press back, you will be returned to nubia launcher
Using the CN model flashed with global ROM.
I want to use Nova launcher with gestures and have heard some in the thread mentioning they have this working.
Can someone lend me a hand please?

Don't know if you're still having this issue or not but how I somehow got it to work is going into the settings, app info, hit the 3 dots in the upper right and select Default App Settings. Tap on Desktop and change it to Nova Launcher. Sometimes though, when I exit a couple of particular apps, it resorts back to the Nubia Launcher. So what I did was keep the icon for Nova Launcher on the main desktop of the Nubia Launcher. This only happens rarely but still a pain when it does.

anyone know is this bug fix on 4.23 update?
