LG G4 H815 Device ID - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone know the difference between the LG device ID and the Android ID? Any idea which partition it might be stored in? Would other variants such as H810 H811 H812 etc have a device ID as well?
Thanks alot

Code:
fastboot oem device-id
Btw you do realise you are effectively trying to reverse engineer hashing - and there is a reason why hashing is a trusted method of verification

The Android device ID is generated on the first Boot and can be easily changed as its stored in the data Partition once generated. This ID is used for example when you buy something in the Google Play Store. .
the fastboot device ID is coming from the internal flash memory of your device and is absolutely unique for every device and there is no (easy) way to modify it. If that is even possible because maybe it's just generated by the CPU.
You can't even see where it is stored as long as you do not use a box which is able to direct Flash (usually this requires soldiering or special cables as well).
It's like the PBL which is the primary Bootloader and you are not able to see / modify that as well. If you could do so you'd be able to flash your own certificates and signed Bootloader stack and can just switch off Secure Boot or enable Unlock in fastboot.

You haven't exactly been descriptive about the error.
Anyway, there is little to no chance this will work - @steadfasterX spent a year working on UsU and I believe he said he already gave this a go

If I remember correctly the output is blank. I will double check and let you know. Either the command doesn't work or my device doesn't have a device ID (maybe only EU H815's have them)

No. And before you start using it ensure you understand that this can easily brick your device, convert your device and blow fuses. I can just highly recommend to stop here.

Every device has it. But the fastboot is different on every model and even firmware.
The fastboot on a h812 does not need to show it because it can't be unlocked that way. That's all.

Does a blown fuse instantly mean hard brick? Also, if the h812 fastboot commands aren't complete, how can I view my device ID? is there any other way?
Thanks for all your support and advice.

Blowing fuses means not hard brick. It means several things behave different without any way to revert as it's a physical one-way process.
One well known fuse is ARB. Read about that in the antirollback post linked in my signature.
Another is happening when using qfil which afterwards only allow special firehose programmers ( and we have only 2 which not are able to handle the latest ones ) and there are also many fuses unknown as there is no official or leaked documentation about it.

PS: the thanks button is there for a reason..

If only I can somehow get an H811 KDZ onto it...
Maybe if I flash H810 KDZ and then the H811 KDZ?

Not iff the unlock tool is by ASUS... Their tool ends your IMEI or some phone identifier to the update servers negating any warranty you think you have after re-locking... If you used unofficial unlock then no identifier has been placed against your account, theoretically, there's nothing to suggest they can't detect unlocked bootloader with a little piece of programming added into their updates...

Hi Snort, yes, i tried this, i tried uninstall and reinstall all drivers, tried to format one notebook of mine, tried the xFSTK mehotd but ALL things and with different pcs AND cables, any pc recognize my cellphone, but it stills charge. That´s why or something is PRETTY screwed or i got a hardware issue.

do you know how re-lock the bootloader ? I don't found other procedure than this.
I have unlock with not official asus tool
I've tried the steps listed @ asus-zenfone (Google search for link)
This still doesn't work..While it helps you get back to stock (Steps are also listed here @ XDA), I believe the Asus servers keep track of your serial or IMEI. At this point, you'll need to manually update the OTAs software with ADB sideload. Luckily for us, Asus posts these on their support site for the phone.
Unfortunately this is bad if you're trying to sell your phone, but I knew what I was getting into unlocking it. No regrets.

Need aboot image from an unlocked bootloader and a non unlocked bootloader

Hi. As the title says. Please I need someone (any version) that had same version (LP) and had root first and pulled aboot without unlocking bootloader and after that an image of the same device, on same version with the unlocked bootloader.
Also this helps:
If you unlocked. send me your unlock key and in a private message your device id and IMEI.

looks like he is looking for something around to help the locked devices to get unlocked unofficially
i hope anyone will help
Yeah, probably run a diff between locked/unlocked to see if any light can be shed for those who can't officially unlock
That is true I want to analize the partitions and to see if I can find any hash rule for making the unlock.bin. That s why i asked imei and device id in private. Do not worry all your info will be confidential.

Help with LG G4 Model Number

Hi,
I am confused regarding my LG G4 model number.
Because Under About Phone -> Hardware Info it shows LG-H815.
But when I connect it to pc & using adb devices, adb lists it as LGLS991e484402e.
Also LS991 0423 is printed on back of the phone near camera & speaker.
But under the battery the sticker with IMEI displays LG-H815 !
What is the model number ?
I need to find it in order to update it.
Are you checking for compatibility with a rom? If so, H815 is the number you're looking for.

Don't worry about the LS991 number. H815 is the version of your phone, the G4 international.

How are you planning on updating? Flashing a rom from xda-developers? If you're not sure, I'd recommend something like imperium rom, which is based on stock and has much the same behavior but is rooted with more options. Just make sure to download the one for H815. Of course, you'll need to have an unlocked bootloader and custom recovery before you can do this. Do you have custom recovery already?

Is there any way to install custom recovery without Download mode (& of course without root !) ? Because there is one more problem ! I cant get into download mode. If I use Vol up+ & insert usb cable then I get "Secure boot error 1014" & if i use adb reboot-bootloader or reboot bootloader phone restarts normally. Also fastboot mode is not working. Fastboot devices either do nothing or waiting for device ! USB debugging & OEM unlock is on.

Yes I have searched for that & some related errors. But almost all of them says that it is because of locked bootloader & to unlock the bootloader I need to enter fastboot mode (Not working as of now) also I have tried many drivers mentioned in the posts (LG universal, LG WHQL etc), LG Bridge, LG PC suit, LG flash tool, LG mobile support tool etc & Also tried the same things on Windows 7.
I don't really know much about fastboot problems, you'll have to look elsewhere for help. Sounds like that's your next step, though. Look for people who can help you get fastboot/download mode working.

[F500L] LG G4 Bootloader or Fastboot not opening, I want to Unlock Bootloader

I am having LG G4, I don't know what's the actual model of my phone.
In the about setting of the phone, it is showing model H815, In LG Bridge it is showing LGF500L, On the phone box there is no model written and after removing the battery it is showing H811 model. Can somebody tell me which is the correct model of my phone?
Now I flashed the LGF500L tot using LG flash tool and updated my phone to nougat using LG Bridge. Now In about phone, the model has been changed from H815 to F500L
I want to unlock the bootloader and want to install the TWRP for custom ROM. The problem is I can't boot/reboot into bootloader/fastboot mode.
I have tried the hardware key combination and "adb reboot bootloader" but didn't get success, Every time the phone just restarts.
Is there any solution?
Also, the root permission has gone after updations.
So, in short I have 2 Questions/problems, please help me if you know any answer. I will be highly thankful to you
Ques 1: What is the actual model of my phone? (Edit: Solved, see reply #4)
Ques 2: How to open bootloader or fastboot mode so that I can unlock it?

try to use an USB 2.0 port if u currently using a 3.0 one.. sounds still strange to me but I saw that error related to the usb port somewhere.

I did that and yeah it entered this mode but it's not valid bootloader/fastboot mode. It's some service mode to update firmware. Anyway it's not visible in pc as a normal fastboot and I cannot proceed further with unlocking bootloader...
Edit: it's download mode... So as I said it's not fastboot mode.
Anyone can help?

Only way to boot twrp later is to use fastboot with ADB, recovery with buttons doesn't work.
if the device wont boot a rom use adb to get back in recovery.
if you use bank apps, install magisk before installing rom, do not get SU

Only problem is that the info linked to above applies to ONE G4 variant only - the H815 international model. The rest of us are SOL. The bootloader on US carrier G4 - AT&T, T-Mo, VzW, etc (most later firmware revisions for G3 as well) models has been nailed down. The only exception is a G4 with ARB <= 2 can be hacked with UsU in order to root it and install a custom recovery.

Tmo is very easy
Go to dev options and enable adb
Then run "adb reboot bootloader"
Once there, run "fastboot oem unlock" and voila, you have an officially unlocked bootloader with no restrictions related to UsU
Please be aware the above will factory reset your device

Do you know anyone who has done it with H81120o or later? I've seen posts for two yrs about doing it that way, but I don't remember reading about it being done on 20o or later.

Why v20o
Remember, this has nothing to do with UsU and therefore ARB etc doesn't matter
Edit: ps there are loads of H811 users in my Lineage thread and the other ROMs too

Got it. Guess that it makes sense. ARB prevents rolling back to earlier release than 20o, I'm ok. Will try the BL unlock today then.

I actually managed to get my LG V20 F800L into same situation after messing up my rooting process.
First i was stuck at logo and factory reset did nothing. Bootloader was working then.
Then i downloaded new firmware through "Download Mode", and after that i lost access to bootloader.
I know the phone model is different, but process seems to be very similar for all LG devices.
Trying to troubleshoot that atm, if i'll have results i'll post them here.
P.S. I know original poster long left (probably after throwing phone into a grinder), but maybe for someone with same problem as us in the future the info will be useful.

Ok, now i have to reply to my own post, since i believe i understand now something important:
LG phones usually dont have bootloader open to access. Until you use some exploits to do so.
I did not know that at the time of writing that reply.

Do you have more details about this? I seem to be in a similar situation than you and I'm struggling to make it work.
