Redmi Note 5 China LTE Bands? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

Hello
I plan on buying a Redmi Note 5, but I usually find the Chinese version 20$ to 30$ cheaper than the global one. I've read that there's no difference between the two except the LTE bands. My carrier uses the B3 and B20 LTE bands, can you guys confirm if the chinese version has these bands? I searched on Gsmarena but I got confused as it's listing a lot of countries there such as Taiwan and Indonesia.
Thanks!

Chinese version doesn't have LTE B4 and B20

So it does have LTE B3 band? Does that mean my 4G will work?

Sure it will work as long as the antenna you're connected to supports that frequency. Basically, you will lose LTE signal in every areas your provider only has B20 antennas. Maybe that's only a few, then again that also may be the most common configuration. You'd need a map of the network to know exactly how bad it'll be. Unless you know for sure, pay the extra bucks and forget about it.

[Q] Zenfone 2 ZE551ML: will crossflashing to WW change radio bands too?

Hello all,
considering a ZE551ML (the 2Gb RAM model) for purchase from a chinese shop. My question is the following. This shop obviously does not sell the WW version. Would flashing the WW version as per http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/help/how-to-upgrade-cn-version-to-ww-t3101556 change the compatible LTE bands of the phone as well?
IOW, is the hardware of all these versions (WW, CN etc) the same and it's the firmware that actually selects which radio bands to work in?
Thx for this question.
I search a solution for the the problem. I can not find a solution. How can change the firmware (moDem) to receive of a CN hardware version of ZE551ML all WW LT frequencies?
I did not R&D the product hence i would not know if china zf2 have all the same parts with ww zf2.
lets say if they are different then the case would be no
CN run on TDD while the rest of the world mostly run on FDD. this is not like software can overwritten, its 50% hardware (filtering (selection of bands)) and 50% software (methodology).
UNLESS CN zf2 comes with FDD function then you CAN cross upgrade firmware it from CN to WW. you should google it if it is true. Or you could ask Asus if they are willing to leak this topic to you.
Well, from what we've said so far, we're mostly speculating here. Perhaps someone has something definitive to share on the subject...
LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 8(900), 28(700) - Taiwan*
LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800)
- Global*
LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 17(700), 20(800)
- US*
LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500)
- China & India
@corrsea: I am aware of these frequencies. The original question holds though: is the difference in bands between these phones on the hardware or only on software?
Someone who has ZE551ML bought in HK (ZE551ML - 6G013WW) knows exactly which LTE bands are supported?
Based in LTE band list provided by Asus, it should be WW (Global) and ,since I am in China and can use China Unicom 4G network, I can not find it matching with WW supported bands.
Thanks!!

I'm pretty sure that simply flashing WW software on a CN phone will have no effect on the band's it can use. I should be receiving mine soon (CN from aliexpress) and will flash the WW firmware at some point. I'm hopeful that bands 1 and 3 are FDD and 1 will be compatible with my Telco, but who knows. Only ASUS can awnser whether the hardware is capable of being enabled for other bands but I'm not holding my breath for that one.
A Taiwanese zf2 would probably have been best for me but I could not access one easily.
This wiki page is a good resource when making these type of decision.

HTC 10 International Version with AT&T (M10H)

Will it work with the LTE bands?
The seller on eBay say's it fully works with AT&T and T-Mobile?
HTC 10h (International version) WILL NOT work on US LTE bands
If you go to this page: htc. com / uk / smartphones / htc-10
scroll to the bottom where the specs are and look under "Network" you will see the differences between the radio bands supported by the International/Asia and the America versions of the phone. The International version DOES NOT support all of the 4G LTE bands used by ATT in the US.
This page shows the LTE bands used in the US by major carriers. phonearena. com / news / Cheat-sheet-which-4G-LTE-bands-do-AT-T-Verizon-T-Mobile-and-Sprint-use-in-the-USA_id77933
LTE band 5 is on both models of the phone, and band 5 is used in some very limited areas of the US, (but not enough to make it worth having a regional only phone at this cost, and the newest LTE uses dual-bands so that technology wouldn't work for you either).
If you live in the US, you absolutely want the US model of this phone if you expect 4G LTE and newer technologies to work for you over a wide area.
Hope this helps someone... I got suckering into ordering an International version off Amazon and it would not work on AT&T 4G LTE in my area (band 2).
Better to order the US version directly from HTC.
Does the opposite work? I mean, does the US version work in Europe or not?
I'm asking because the color I want is only available in the US and I live in Europe.

You should check which LTE bands your European carrier is using. Just google it "What LTE band does [your carrier] use in [your country/city]."
The US version supports all LTE bands except 8 (Saudi Arabia) and 32 (no idea where that's used..). en. wikipedia. org / wiki / List_of_LTE_networks

If you load the US unlocked on the international phone, you will pickup some LTE bands. I seem to be able to pickup 4/12, but not 2 with Tmobile

Hi I'd like to know if the US unlocked version of the HTC 10 (that you can order by the official HTC USA site) works on the Italian networks: band 3(1800MHz), 7(2600MHz), 20(800MHz);
so if I buy this phone and I do it to ship from America I can use it in Italy with any networks problem or restriction.
I'm very interested to know this, thank you.

I'm very happy to know this, I think there are also no problems with the 4g/LTE networks in Italy; I have a few questions if you want to answer me:
Why did you buy the HTC 10 USA version? (and not the Italian too)
Where did you buy it?
Which color is it?
Thanks for the reply

Are you saying the M10H won't work with T-Mobile LTE? Im prepared to S-OFF and install whatever. The vendor listing has the US LTE freqs listed. Is that innacurate?

m10h will not support 2/4/12 unless you convert to US unlocked. I have m10h and am on US unlocked. I seem to pickup 4/12 in some parts of the country, but have yet to see band 2. I'm also skeptical that I get all of band 4, I'm thinking I only get certain frequencies of Band 4.
So which version should I buy to use on AT&T in California?

Add LTE Band 3 to OP3?

Hi guys, so after a bit of research I found that you can add/enable bands on the OP1 as shown here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/guide-unlock-aditional-bands-qualcomm-t2877031
and Here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=56577252&postcount=455
My question is can I add LTE band 3 to my OP3 A3000?
Mine currently supports:
North America model(A3000)
FDD-LTE: Bands 1/2/4/5/7/12/17/30
The other models support:
Europe / Asia model
FDD-LTE: Bands 1/3/5/7/8/20
TDD-LTE: Bands 38/40
China model
FDD-LTE : Bands 1/3/7
TDD-LTE: Bands 38/39/40/41
If anyone has done this or attempted to do this please let me know
Looking for the same information.
Also been searching for this. Found another thread which says hopefully in the next month or two it will be looked into.

This is what I'd assume as well, but it looks like some have been successful in the past with Oneplus devices. Especially since Oneplus' response to the band omissions seemed a bit vague IMO.
Any updates?
I have a A3000 US model (Does not support LTE band 3)
AND NOW
I have just got a A3000 HK model (For my dad) (support's LTE band 3)
and the "about phone" part is identical apart from the baseband version.
Is there any way to tell them apart. And does this mean I can somehow unlock LTE band 3 on my US version of the OP3?
If there was someway to backup the basband and restore it on on my US OP3 that would also be great!

AFAIK there isn't yet a way, but I would suggest to follow the most active thread on the subject:

Hopefully something will come up..
Can this work on all carriers? Whether in North America or over seeas?
I've got OP3T A3000, tried multiple files and instructions to unlock LTE band 3 on it, no luck so far. Downgraded to Nougat, Oreo, different zip files, qcn files, hex editing stuff, most of these process went error free with still no band 3.

Gold Oneplus 3 in USA on T-Mobile?

Hello forum. Got a question Im hoping someone will know. I am looking at getting the gold Oneplus 3 and will be using it in the US on T-Mobile. Every version I have seen for sale does not list T-Mobiles LTE networks (Frequencies: Band 2 (1900 MHz), Band 4 (1700/2100 MHz)) listed on the T-Mobile site. They all say (4G : LTE band 1(2100), 3(1800), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 20(800), 38(2600), 40(2300)). And some say they are the A3000. So is there anyone that has the gold one here and has been using it in the US on T-Mobile? And if so where did you buy it? What model # is it? Im thinking the only place to actually get the North American gold one is through Oneplus, but its never in stock. Anyway thank you.

Confirm BND-L21 bands?

I am going to buy the 7x, but live in the US and use T-Mobile, but I want the 4GB/64BG version. Frequency Check says that the BND-L21 has LTE Band 4, which is fine, that's all my current phone has.
However, GSMArena and other places do not list band 4 on the BND-L21 version.
Can anyone confirm if the L21 actually has LTE band 4?
Second, if I rebrand the L21 with files from the L24, will it open up the frequencies available on the L24?

I've considered getting either the euro version or the indian variant L22 (on the device its Al-10 variant though), so not sure how the L22 came along. As i'm from neither region, which variant in your opinion would be the better one in terms of speed of ota's, etc? Yes i have read of firmware finder, but i see alot users have struggled with it, any thoughts on why? If i get either variant, and dont get ota's, i will definitely try firmware finder as i have no knowledge of doing it manually.
Thanks again

The easiest for me is to get the indian variant, if im patient (which i am lol) a friend can bring me euro version. The L21 on online selling site is the global version from what i read. The only reason i held back, is honor india said no to for receiving otas (that was before finding out about firmware finder) In Sa, probably vodacom & telkom. The network providers share similar bands, so thats okay to change to others if neccesary.
Are you running the beta version? Yeah i think im going to familiarise myself with the finder app so makes things easier.
