As title says, I am looking for an app or root mod to be able to get one handed mode on the Razer phone. Any thoughts?
I want to say there is a magisk module for that, but it has been a while since I have used Magisk. I haven't rooted this device yet. If not doesn't the XDA app do that as well? Or was that just a one handed app for browsing XDA?

My friend broke her G1 and got the Slide to replace it, she doesn't like the texting application. I'm sure theres a way to get rid of that or just preferably install stock android on the thing. I don't yet have any experience with Android (I will be getting the Droid X in a week) so I would love a bit of hand holding here.
As far as I understand it would would involve rooting the device and then installing a rom of normal android? Is this correct?
I would love if someone could actually walk me through the process or any tips, keep me in mind that once I do this for her she needs to be able to just use it forever after that. I don't wanna flash her phone and it ends up crashing a week late or something.
So can I be pointed in the right directions?
You would have to Root the Phone to Remove Built in Apps. BUT, Since this IS Android you are not bound to use the Default Messaging App. You can download some very good and Feature Rich Messaging apps from the Market. 2 Free ones that come to mind are Handcent (which I used to use before I got my Slide) and ChompSMS. You just have to uncheck the Recieved Notification box in the HTC one and you should be ok from there.
Before going through the trouble of rooting, has she tried any of the available messaging apps from the market yet?

Yea, per your suggestions I told her to just try installing another to see if she likes it.
I'm looking to possibly get a Galaxy Note 8.0 down the road for a custom dash install for my car. I was wondering if there was a possibility to get the Xposed Multiwindow Mod from the Galaxy Note II to work on this device.

It works fine. Please do not comment if you are unsure of things, because you can start a huge row for developers.
I am running it right now on my tablet, and it runs great.
It works perfectly for me!

Really? Can you run Spotify and navigation side by side?
I was able to get it working also.
Folks should be aware that it is very difficult to use the CWR tools to get rid of it again at this time, though you can do it manually via ADB.
Also that Odin recovery does not wipe out installed apps, which I did not know and am happy about. (I tried changing dpi using a different one of the Xposed modules; it did not work and my phone bootlooped. I had the uninstall around, but was not able to install it via CWR.)
The multiwindow one works nicely. There's also an app in the play store that works for enabling multiwindow view for many more apps.
I don't use Spotify so I don't know about that one in particular.
Out of curiosity what is the diff with this and multi window mgr. Be gentle i am using mwm but int in the diff.

I don't know, MWM just didn't Work for me.

It's very similar to multiwindow manager, honestly. MWM is a little funky in that the app itself doesn't know that the Note 8 exists yet. I think I told it I was using a note II and it let me add whatever I wanted to multiwindow mode.
The one thing I have not tested yet with the new way of adding multiwindow functionality to the device is the camera. With MWM running, if multiwindow mode is enabled the camera locks up the device.

I haven't tried the camera yet while using it but I don't take many pix with a tablet. For MWM to work you have to disable the patch it mentions when you launch it first. Other than that it works with all my apps. I also love multi touch gestures app.Update just used the camera with no issues. First time I tried it. Pretty good image for a tablet.
I'm using the Xposed method and while the camera doesn't fc there is apparently no shutter button. In fact I'm typing this from one window with the camera in the other.

And I have to admit that this is far from my go-to camera - but occasionally I'll launch the app accidentally or on purpose, and it'd be nice to not have it hink out on me.
The fix for me has been to disable multiwindow mode in the system preference, and that may well work for the Xposed mwindow modification as well.
Xposed is a framework with developer interest from the companion Samsung devices and it may allow for other things to arrive fairly quickly on the device, before a full rom is ready.
This is awesome; I'm definitely going to be getting one of these for my dash install later this year
Hello.
I'm rather new to the scene, so please forgive me if this is not the place to post about this.
I am using an LG g3 with Android 5.0 rooted and I am the owner of a Gear 2.
Unfortunately, I am unable to install any new apps on my watch (thanks Tizen) even though I managed to get the Samsung Gear manager to work just fine.
Is there any way to get a working version of the app store to install?
I have read a few posts where people where achieving mixed successes by editing their build props, but seeing as I am rather reluctant to kill my phone I thought I'd throw in the towel and ask for some advice before doing something silly.
Thanks in advance.

Does the 10 offer something like Samsung's "Kids Mode" which allows the parent to lock the interface to a limited set of apps and to be able to set a daily time limit on access?

If it doesn't there are several apps on the play store for this feature.
I dont know... But with HTC slimming down sense I dont think it will be there. They have their apps available on the play store so you might be able to get it that way?
It would be nice to be able to port Samsung's Kids Mode. I've been on the s5 for 2 years and going to get the HTC 10, Samsung's Kids Mode is the best I have ever used.
Let's see about ports.... But I think you will find many people will be adverse to porting anything Samsung on to this phone. Time will tell
Why don't you use the own android solution already implemented, guest account? or create one specific for what you want?
Maybe is enough for what you need

True, but it's a great app regardless.

I've never actually used it so I won't be able to tell... I would suggest you get on the s7 or s7 edge forum and ask if someone could provide the APK to test on another HTC model? If it works on an m8 or m9 or a nexus then chances are it will on the 10?
I have it on my own s5, I've never ported an app though. I might give it a shot after I get the 10
HTC had a kid mode app which was on older versions of sense, you might be able to get it from an stock image or ruu
http://www.androidcentral.com/how-make-your-android-phone-child-friendly-kid-mode
That app isn't bad, you can get it in the play store, we have it on our tablets at home.
HTC used the Child-Mode App from Zoodles. At least this is the one that came pre-installed on my HTC One M9. You can easily download it on Google PlayStore

Hi,
I would like to suggest to our moderators or to our app developers if they can tweak the Xperia Keyboard or Google Keyboard to disable the fullscreen feature whenever you are on landscape mode (like playing games, watching movies etc.).
The reason for this request is the fullscreen mode on landscape is quite annoying since it covers the entire screen.
Actually, I found a good solution for this but by using an Xposed module. However, I don't want to root my phone since I just bought it a month ago. I hope someone can help me do this without the need of rooting the phone. Command via ADB shell will do as well if there's a certain command for that.
I'm using Huawei P10 VTR-L29C636B162
Thanks!
Hi,
I don't have anything issue like that with Gboard. Can you post a screenshot for better understanding, what you exactly mean?
And we also need your phone model and firmware version.
I'm on VTR-L29C432B162.
As per your screenshot and with the attached image below, you will see that our keyboard on landscape mode covers the entire screen and this is not helpful when playing games, (like mobile legends). But, if our keyboard has an option to disable fullscreen on landscape, the background will still be visible.
The image that I have attached is screengrabbed from Playstore from the Xposed App/Module called 'Disable Fullscreen Keyboard'. It only mean that this can be done if our phone is rooted. But, my request is if we can also do this even our phone is not rooted and no need to install Xposed app or modules.
I hope our mods can modify Google Keyboard, Swift Keyboard, Swype Keyboard, Xperia Keyboard(ported) disabling the fullscreen feature of the keyboards.
I hope I made it clear.
Up. I hope someone can fix this.
yeah this feature is so annoying, full screen in landscape mode were disabled when i was on kitkat. now its back again on gboard 2017 for nougat and beyond. at least on certain apps or games only
It would be interesting if it's even possible with root...this is so annoying. I switched from iOS and thought Android is a bit further but after more than a year on Huawei I have to say, that many things are far behind a jailbroken iOS.

It is available rooted by the looks as bauer said above.
It drives me mad too. If I'm watching Netflix or something and someone messages I have to guess and hope that what I've written is correct or I have to go back out, write message, go back in, find the movie and start again, quite annoying.
Had email back again saying I should be getting my BL unlock code soon so hopefully this app still works.

This is possible with xposed module called "Disable Fullscreen Keyboard". But Xposed requires Root. So far no way doing this without root access.
