I've done nothing to modify my phone (Root, etc.). However, I have disabled packages, which apparently cannot be re-enabled without root access.
My location services were working even after I disabled my phone's bloat, but about a week ago my GPS just stopped working. I can turn on location services, but apps don't receive my location. Not a single app knows where I am.
Anyone have this problem?

How did you disable the packages and do you know exactly what you disabled? If it was by using an app then there should be a way to re-enable them.

That's using the latest version available on Play? You could uninstall the app then reinstall it plus there's always the reset of your phone. In Package Disable Pro make sure "Hide System packages" isn't on. Also check the apps permissions.

Yeah, I'm afraid it didn't work. Everytime I enable a package it re-enables itself as soon as it leaves the screen when I scroll. I don't want to have to reset my phone, but thats what its looking like...

Have you looked at disabled apps in the phone's settings? If it's also disabled there, PDP may not override it.

My notification light hasn't worked since, automatic call recorder hasn't worked. Also noticed when I uninstall system apps with TiBu they still appear in my app drawer? Also not getting email notifications for Yahoo! app. So far what I've seen.
Unrelated note, am I going insane because I can't find every process/system app in root explorer. I go to usual system/app but all I see is LG,VZM, Google apps. Nothing of detail like usual. ??

The root process replaces the /system partition. I would suspect that a good Factory Reset would help clear up any issues like this. Have you factory reset yet?
I am curious if these issues are apparent in others who rooted (could be issues with the image) or just a fluke.

I don't have any of these issues...
Also of note,I haven't uninstalled anything, only frozen. And only the obvious bloatware (Verizon apps, and dt ignite). I would almost bet it's removing something you didn't have... I would recommend redoing the root process to get a fresh system image, and run a few days without de bloating to verify.
Can you please also post what build you are using? - 11C, 10B, etc?

I'm seeing the same thing. The only thingz that really bug me though are auto call recorder not working (could have used that today) and everytime I uninstall nfl mobile, it reinstall via the play store. Kind of a pain, but not a deal breaker.

Try uninstalling stuff and let me know. I know for a fact it's stuff I have on the phone. I used TiBu, but then still in my app drawer and can't find all those apps like before using Root Explorer (my first G4 phone, maybe layout is diff than Sammy?). I've done the root processes a couple times already.

Didn't know there was an 11C, I'm on 11A
I turned it on, and swiped on either direction across the back to recents, vice versa. But nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong?
Not sure if it matters, but I am using Nova Launcher.
I also have not been able to get it to work. I'm on a Verizon wireless model with the latest July update.

Lastpass is a password management app. It requires permission to the accessibility settings to auto fill passwords. If you don't have Lastpass, it could be another app that's stopping mini view to work. Try going into settings, up on the search box type accessibility. You should be able to find it there and see which app is needing it.
i had the same issue, what i found out was that you have to swipe quickly , try swiping faster
It's not that.
Solution for those running Malwarebytes
FYI: I thought for sure that it was either Greenify, Gravity Screen, or Nova Launcher causing my Mini View not to work. They are all fine with Mini View.
I finally figured out that it is Malwarebytes causing the problem. By having Malwarebytes "On" in Accessability Settings this kills the Mini View for me.
I just did a clean install of Android Pie earlier today on my 2XL, on Project Fi.
I've only setup the basics so far, using stock launcher and a few apps.
The location symbol will not go away. Is there a way to check and see what is using it?
I've disabled location all together and it goes away. Looked at the apps that have location permission, and toggled it off, but the icon stays.
Any ideas?

If the Location symbol is showing all the time and you can't find what is triggering it, you might have to save your pics and music, etc.,
then do a factory reset. I have installed Pie on several P2XL devices, and none have the Location symbol showing all the time. Must be
a battery hog if it's on all the time.

It looks like the Project Fi icon is still up in your notifications. Have you finished setting it up to completion? I can't remember for sure but I think my location icon was up until I finished setting up Fi and the Fi icon was off the screen.
I am facing the same issue with project fi installed on my 2xl.
Com.google.android.gms is wakelocking like a banshee and its driving me crazy. I have location history on, but always leave location off unless using it. Og pixel xl stock P. Ideas?
Well by the icon it has something to do with Google play services no ?
Mine is much worse. Google play services draining my battery. And this happens only when I'm connected to mobile data..no issues on wifi. It used to happen on Oreo and still happens on pie. I tried safe mode too. So definitely no other apps are causing it. I tried other ways like disabling location history, location, turned off double tap to wake and all other gestures, turned off adaptive brightness, turned off web and app activity in Google account settings, turned off auto sync, denied Google play services permission to modify system settings, etc. No I don't know what else is left to try. This is so annoying....
Mine all have "sms" something or other in the alarm title. I have location turned off, why is it trying to ping location? Any idea?!

I feel it's related to Google account because this is happening in safe mode too so it's definitely not a 3rd party app causing this drain. It would be great if someone could help us find a way to figure out the cause.
There's a Magisk module for adding Google play services to the list of apps that are put to sleep when not in use. I would try that.

Not for a system service like that running wild. You can use Greenify for non system applications (if not rooted), but you'd have to root in order to take care of this issue. You could always try doing the laundry list: wiping app data/cache, force stopping it, or even starting fresh and wiping the phone. However that would take longer than it would to root the device.

I have tried wiping data/cache, tried formatting many times on Oreo and pie as well. Looks like the only option is to root. Will banking apps/Google pay work on a rooted phone?

With Magisk it will, it is a very easy app to navigate , and rooting w/ Magisk only takes a few steps. Boot into TWRP via fastboot ( there are TWRP.img files , that's what you'd want here ) flash Magisk, reboot to system.
Looks like it's not just me...my friend who is using a pixel 2 xl is also having play services battery drain.
Any fix for this?
I can't sign into a few apps. When I enter my login info to Amazon Shopping & Prime Video and tap the login button, they both keep saying it can't connect. PayPal derps out and closes entirely once I sign in and just as it displays the two-factor authorization part. I've double checked MagiskHide and cleared app data for all three apps as well as Google Play Services. I'm using the latest Magisk canary and SafetyNet passes.
Another, seemingly unrelated issue that only started after I rooted, is that my fingerprints are no longer recognized. I've deleted all of them and re-registered my fingerprints, but they still always fail to work. Any ideas?
Never had a problem with Amazon, PayPal or even Google Pay with root.
I had the same issue with Amazon after root. I'm assuming you're using AdAway? That was my problem. Go into AdAway > Preferences > Root based ad blocking > uncheck enable web server. I never used it and it was disabled on my 8T, so I disabled it on the 9Pro

Same, I'm using both Amazon and GPay regularly, and I've used Paypal since rooting. Are there any maigsk modules or other root apps that could be interfering? Maybe try disabling all of those temporarily.

I fixed mine by just adding *amazon* to the whitelist/Allowed. I'm still using the web server option.
I also have absolutely no problems with Magisk Su using Magisk hide. Google Pay, PayPal and banking apps work without any problems.

Oddly enough, GPay DOES work. I dunno if I mentioned that.
Turns out AdAway was the culprit, but I'm not sure why. Been using it for years and I've never had to add an app's website urls to its whitelist before.
Wish I could figure out why the fingerprints refuse to work, even though the sensor works fine when I add prints to it.

Hm. I am also using AdAway in root mode. No problem so far
What helped me with banking apps was doing the following
Install the app and run it once
Go to magisk and use magisk hide on the app
Go back to the app and force close it then clear cache and data
Reboot to recovery wipe cache and dalvik
Reboot to system and make sure it's still the magisk hide list
Run the app and it should work flawlessly
