You mean a backup from twrp? If so, after you've restored your stock setup and get twrp installed, just restore your twrp data partition backup

I'm not rooted so no twrp. in settings you have system/backup. It was set to on so my sms, phone, app data were all backup up. How do I restore? When I choose restore from cloud I only see my samsung galaxy s8 +, not my pixel phone.
It should've been an option when setting up your phone.

Took this screenshot from a "How to backup/restore" guide.

So you're saying at this step you only had one backup phone appear?

Nope, my pixel was not on the list. My s8+ that I had was on it plus my kids 2 tablets.
My only other guess is did you have two or more Gmail accounts logged in? The backup might've synced to one of those instead. I've never had issues with restoring backups and I do it once a year just to clear things up.

Adb shell
Bmgr list sets
Then you should see a list of backups
Bmgr restore 838292837278

Use the backup number instead of the one I posted... You can do it from a root terminal on the device directly as well

Today I had to backup my unlocked Razr M (XT905) using TWRP, wipe and then restore. I can confirm that it all worked.
I did have some issues with backing up to the external sdcard tho.

External SD really isn't well supported on the RAZR.. even in the os itself it doesn't really use it.
However that aside twrp works well on the Aussie hardware.

Thanks cellzealot.
Tried flashing it using "fastboot flash recovery twrp-recovery-scorpion_mini.img" in fastboot mode but still got stock recovery? My bootloader is unlocked.
Help? My phone's gone crazy and kept rebooting itself randomly.
Hmm...not sure what to say. That is the image I have on my dev XT907 and should work fine on XT905 with OEM unlock.
Have you tried the one originally posted here by P3Droid?
Either should work although the updated one has better support for JB.

Thanks cellzealot. It turned out, I forgot to get adb working on my computer but after I fixed that, TWRP flashed fine.

I'm thinking that's what it is, which seems odd to me. I've never heard of an app doing something like this. I'm glad I back up my phone enough but I'm sad to have to forfeit some features of cyanogen

Why not backup your cyanogen and flash one of your older touch wiz backups. If it still doesn't work then you can always go back to your cyanogen backup and you won't need to re setup everything.

I just backed up cyan today, I just can't remember if I have a stock back up, (I switched between CWM and TWRP). So I'm trying to find a stock ROM that has WiFi calling.
I'm pretty sure all touch wiz roms we have so far in these forums have wifi calling.

Dear all,
I have a question about my Phone (HTC ONE M8).
I wanna reset this, cause I encrypted that and now I have many trouble.
So my question is, how to backup the settings, like the Homescreen or the folders in the Stock Appdrawer I have created. Somone said, that this can be done via TitaniumBackup by backing up the "[DESKTOP] HTC Sense"(Thread I found that answer: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=667386). But I'm not able to find this in TB.
Pls. so. has a solution for my problem/question ??
Thank you in advance for a helpful answer.

Do you mean HTC backup ?
I tried mybackup pro for several times and always if I wanna restore the Android Home there is only a naked screen. And yes I restored the apps with TB previously.

Thanks, I'll try it here in about an hour and see if it works. Can it cause a brick or boot loop if its incompatible or will it just say it failed to root with no harm to my phone?
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I'm not certain as I know very little about the 2E variant of the phone so its still doing it at ur own risk.
Rooting compared to everything else such as bootloader unlocking or xposed installation is fairly safe in comparison though. All you essentially are doing though is adding a few files and sideloading SuperSU as far as I'm aware.

I can't seem to get the drivers insatlled.
I downloaded the zip from Asus website, but it's not an .exe file, so I'm stumped on how to install the drivers.
When I launch that root method, it says ADB Server out of date, killing...Daemon started successfully but it doesn't go any further than that.
I'm on Windows 10.
For the drivers, I believe I have the default Google ones installed and that worked fine for me. Don't remember where I got the tutorial from or how I did it anymore.
As for the ADB server try this link. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979.

That's the one I'm using, and that's when it said the ADB server was out of date, and then it says Daemon started on port 5047...Daemon started successfully...
and then it doesn't do anything after that. There's gotta be something missing.
Now this is what I'm getting
