MIUI 10 public beta problem? - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
I am on latest global stable MIUI 9 (9. 5.17.0) and cannot for the life of me install the global beta 8.7.5. My bootloader is locked (have to wait 360h), I tried either fastboot ROM with miflash (xbl error) and phone updater (error: can't go from stable to beta like that). So am I stuck until I get the bootloader unlocked or what? Can anyone help me install the MIUI 10 beta with a locked bootloader?
thanks!

I flash the beta rom via updater
It work but it deletes all of my data

locked bootloader. download zip place in download folder. go to
settings/about phone/system update/ click on 3 dots in upper right hand side. select choose update package and select browse download folder. and select rom.zip itll verify and update and itll erase all data so save important data.
it takes like more then 10 minutes to boot into OS.

actually I am on 9.5.17.0
could that be the cause?
it seems strange, but I find no other explanation for other users being able to update and I'm not

I don't think so because I was in 9.5.17 and I updated to beta. Download again the zip and flash it by updater app

nothing works, I've tried them all. Says that you can only install global beta if on developer rom, which is very strange. It doesn't pass verification, it just won't. Looks like xiaomi really is *hitting the bed with all these bootloader shenanigans and now this.

Stay on stable...

Went from MIUI 9.5 stable to miui 10 beta by flashing with XiaoMiTool on locked bootloader. Worked like a charm but deleted user data.

Public beta rom has been suspended for redmi note 5 thats why you are getting error.. if you visit miui download page thry have removed global beta rom for Redmi note 5/pro
So once the link is up you can flash it using updater app or wait for friday they will release new beta update

This is because mi deleted the rom from their surver as a new beta update will be released today so you just have to wait and download the newest version

I always had two mi accounts, one each for my note 4 and note 5 pro. So I wouldn't have to wait for the cool down. In developer settings, in unlock status, associate your device with your new account. then login to mi unlock tool with the new account and unlock the boot loader.. you can switch back to your old account later on. No 360h waiting period..

I've had the exact same issue! Did you use Xiaomitool in the past to switch between china/global without unlocking BL? That caused this **** for me.
You need to fastboot flash MIUI 9 using miflash, after that this "region" issue wil be resolved. If you don't have the fastboot rom hit me up on Telegram or send me a PM and I can send it to you.

Stucked in Fastboot mode

Hi Guys,
I am stucked at fastboot mode afterb trying to flash back to China Rom,how to get out of it?
Thanks in advance.
Mi max 3 anti roll back, you mus flash last version to unbrick your device
1. This is not the right section for this question.
2. if you came from 8.8.23 China Beta you have Anti-rollback, which means that to move to china stable you would have to wait for the next china release and flash it from the updater app and not from fastboot. I know its annoying but its safe. If you are stuck in fastboot try flashing latest 8.8.23 China Beta from mi flasher
3. if you came from 8.8.9 China Beta, Try flashing 8.8.9 again
This happened me too today. My phone arrived with the fake global rom 9.6.4. I was flashing official Chinese rom v9.6.11.0 and got a message saying flash successful, however a window also popped up saying MiFlash stopped working and my phone was stuck on the fastboot screen then.
If you find a solution to this problem I would appreciate it and vice versa.

1- flash and boot to twrp
2- format data then wipe (system and cashes)
3- flash xiaomi.eu 8.8.9 or any release before that and reboot
4- use mi flashtool to flash any stable before 9.6.12 or beta before 8.8.17 and choose wipe all and lock in mi flashtool ( this is very important to unlock it your self later with official permission)
Goodluck

yes, most of the unlocked phones from retailers are unlocked without official authorization and that is the main reason for ADB/fast boot fails in some cases , I have MM1, MM2 and now MM3 and I know this by experience.

hi, you enlighten me so much. can i ask more? now what rom do u use in mi max 3? and why?
So to rectify, I tried to flash the official China ROM V.9.6.11 again. It did not flash properly again the 2nd time.
I then asked it to "flash and lock". Official China ROM flashed now and operating on my phone.
My plan is now to apply to have the phone OFFICIALLY unlocked, as it was obviously unofficially unlocked to put the fake Global ROM on it by the vendor, which caused a problem being stuck in Fastboot.
I do not mind waiting the 2 weeks, and once unlocked I will either put the Xiaomi.EU rom on it, or hopefully the official Global ROM will be released by that time.

You must relock and unlock with official mi permission to avoid fastboot flashing issues.
Where I can download the official rom to use mui flash?
Where i can find an explanation to use mui flash? Cause after lock the boot loader the phone is in bootloop...

in step (1) flash official twrp ( I used minimal adb v1.4.3), step (3) is to have correct firmware and avoid mi flasher fail and boot loop ( many guys try flashing directly from fake rom to China but ended up with bootloops)

Alright, so I am on China stable 9.6.11 with TWRP (not Xiaomi original recovery). When I flashed my latest ROM, I chose "clean all and lock (bootloader)" per your instructions and I applied for offical bootloader unlocking by downloading Xiaomi flash unlocking. I still have 500+ hours, but I was told when my bootloader is unlocked eventually, my user data will be erased again.
So will it be a better idea to flash global stable ROM first or wait for the official bootloader unlocking then flash global stable ROM?
Question: I have China Stable 9.6.12.0 on mine Max3. If I want to install the Global Version should I have to wait for Global Version equal version (9.6.12.0) or later? Os there any suggestion to flash the incoming Global 9.6.7.0 on mine (ARB suposed to be implemented in mine version)?

I ve seen this and i downloaded the offical miui 10 stable and tried to update through phone manual update and it extract it and asked to confirm to install it and i canceled it till i have no doubt.
Q: Could Developer version 'upgrade' to Stable version?
A: The answer is yes. But you can't use the OTA method to update, and can only flash the full ROM. As developer version is actually advanced than stable version, there will be data conflict between the two versions. Therefore, please wipe all user data in Recovery mode before flashing the ROM.
Please confirm
Have to turn on sounds manually on messaging app settings it isn't on from default. Stable global rom has this issue.

If possible then how to revert back from MIUI 10 Pie to MIUI 10 Oreo

Hi all
My note 5 pro is Global ver, 6gb/64gb. I was on Oreo last ver, just before few days I received notification for Pie, so without a 2nd thought I downloaded and installed that. The Pie ver is stable 10.3.1.0 PEIMIXM and now regretting why I did that. The battery drain is horrible, it drains like crazy, on Oreo my battery used to last at least 2 to 2.5 days whereas this one just dies in 1 day, the usage is less then the previous usage in Oreo.
Now the question is how can I revert back to Oreo from this Pie, if at all possible.
The phone does not have TWRP but the bootloader is Unlocked.
Any help is appreciated.

its been awhile since i have flashed anything on a phone. last time i did it was on my note 4...anyways, i also want to do this since my battery doesn't last long and dual apps for Pokemon Go, isn't working like i had it before.
my bootloader is locked. I know i have to unlock it via MUI website and write the reason i wan to unlock it. how long does it take for them to unlock it?
what should i write to them?
does unlocking the bootloader mean its rooted or do i have to have a custom rom?
also, im confused on what model my phone is. i checked my model name: its M1803E7SH
i checked online and it says that its the redmi note 5 as well as the redmi note 5 pro..so im wondering if this method will work on my phone. pleaaaase help

You dont have to write any reason to unlock bootloader.
visit en.miui.com/unlock page login with your mi account and proceed with unlocking procedure, you may need to wait 360 hours before unlocking bootloader (depending on your mi account activity)
your's is Redmi Note 5/Pro model name WHYRED. you can download Redmi Note 5 Pro ROM package and flash it on your mobile

Question need help! flashing global 12 beta to eu stable

EDIT: use downgrade apk to 11 and go to EU12 now, will report have any issue later.
updated : EU a12 run smooth on my device (full wipe)
Hi, I'm using china phone and flash to global 12 beta, now i want to upgrade to eu stable version, i already download the eu rom and put on root directory, but i can't find the "local upgrade" inside update menu.
so i try to boot to fastboot mode and flash the zip file, after boot in to recovery mode, the "advance" option replace with "reboot" which not same as photo i saw over internet, so total 3 option there "wipe" "reboot" and "power off".
the question is how to flash the global 12 beta to eu stable rom in the best way. thx!

You can download the local upgrade apk from this post to install updates. I haven't tried updating to stable yet though.
Just updated to 12.0.0.0 stable a bit ago. Was a huge pain in the ass. Rooted and have service. T-mobile user.

How was it a pain in the ass? Did you have to wipe?
