i do wipes in twrp
then install rom.zip
flash lazyflasher
boot into system
boot into recovery flash superSU all fine but phone its not rooted.
i do not want to use magisk what is happening.?
I believe the developer roms are pre rooted (at least they used to be)
Go to settings/permissions
There should be a option to enable root
Forgive me if i am wrong because i haven't used miui 10 yet

all is in the title can we install custom rom on it ? or i need to downgrade ?
Um ... What?
Your question doesn't make sense.
Open Beta 8 is a ROM. You don't install ROM "on" another ROM ... You can overwrite it though (in this case you won't have OB8 any more).

May be take a look at Multirom thread. That's what you may be looking. AFAIK
No i mean like do we need to downgrade to MM for having the possibility to install custom rom beacause if we downgrade without the help of oneplus support or something like that it might brick the devices

The only thing you need is an unlocked bootloader with the correct version of a custom recovery (ie. TWRP) to install custom (and stock) ROMs. You may want to take a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/oneplus-3-how-to-unlock-bootloader-t3398733 for more information.

Thx but its not this i already know how to install custom rom and everything its just i dont know if we can install custom rom on OP8 beacause of bootloader who have change beacause oneplus said to not downgrade to MM without their help so if i install cm 13 or cm 14 i dont know if it will work and not brick my op3 ( even if we can recover it )
It's not the bootloader, it's the f2fs /data that can be problematic if you downgrade.

And this issue can be resolved by following http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/guide-downgrade-to-mm-flashing-ob8-t3511161.
I believe most people will recommend that you go back to an MM ROM before flashing anything else as @simcax has mentioned the issue with the data partition.
Thanks for taking time respond to me and for your answer !
Now i have redmi note 5 global version 4GB/64GB running Miui 10.2 , I will unlock bootloader now and then install a custom rom. I have read alot about anti rollback and still cannot understand it and am afraid to brick my phone. My questions are :
What is the suitable twrp to install after unlocking bootloader?
Will i face rollback problems?
What after imstalling twrp?
Xan i choose any custom rom in threads to try it then try flashimg another rom?
Please help me
First request the bootloader unlock because sometime it can take upto a month (720 hours) for new accounts. After unlock install the Redwolf Twrp recovery because it's the best and than install any custom rom but don't ever go back to any MIUI version below 9.5.19 otherwise you will endup bricking your phone for downgrading from ARB4 to ARB3. Custom roms works fine no issues with ARB

You can go back to any MIUI version it's ok as long as you install ARB4 versions of MIUI 9 or 10 and they start from 9.5.19+ so never ever go for any version below that.
So i just unlock bootloader, install redwolf twrp, then install any custom rom?
You mean that rollback problems happen only when going back to miui rom? I mean if i changed from a custom rom to another, will i have any rollback problems?
Second thing, how to root?

Rollback will not apply to custom ROMs but avoid flash any arb3 firmware file
Flash magisk to gain root access

laos and aosp theres no antirollback only in miui base roms. like miui official.. miui pro.. read the threads cause there are roms that are base on miui but dont touch ARB.. example is masik..
for root flash magisk or in orangefox recovery there magisk already incorporated in twrp..
So should I install orangefox TWRP or redwolf TWRP or what?
Please orangefox or redwolf?

I have a OnePlus 5T locked and unrooted phone having OxygenOS 5.1.7 installed. I am new to rooting and related kinds of stuff. Can someone help me to give some instructions to install Magisk in my device? I know the below steps, but at the same time, I am having some questions in my mind.
1. Unlock bootloader - I saw some commands here to unlock bootloader - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74504347&postcount=4 - looks like these are outdated, last updated on Dec 2017. Are those work today also?
2. Install TWRP recovery - I heard that, OxygenOS 5.1.7 is having Project Treble supported. Can I use the same TWRP recovery mentioned in the above link?
3. Root using Magisk or SuperSU. What is the difference? What is systemless root? Anyway, I need to install Magisk Manager finally - Please suggest a way.
4. And the last one, How do I unroot my device if something goes wrong? Or is that possible?
5. I don't want to install any custom ROMs, I am fine with OOS.

1. Yes the unlock commands remain the same till date.
2. Use the latest bluspark twrp which has the treble support, link mentioned is fine and if you need the direct link, its here
3. Use the latest Magisk as SU is a dead project now.
4. Whenever you want to unroot just dirty remove/uninstall all the mods, dirty flash the latest stock rom > Factory reset in recovery and lock the bootloader. I did a post here for the 6T and it should work the same way on 5T.
5. You can stay rooted on OOS no need of custom roms any more :good:
Let me know if you want to know anything else, Thanks.
PS: Thread moved to Q&A Section

1. Yes, but your phone will download the whole firmware at each update instead of the ota.
2. Yes
3. Yep you can.
4. Yes of course, but some apps will detect root. So you will have to use Magisk Hide (inside the Magisk Manager) to hide root from these apps.
Note : I didn't use OOS anymore but it seems to me that OOS overwrites root everytime you update, so keep in mind that you will have to reflash it everytime

1- Yes, but you will recieve full sized zip (1.5+)GB automatically in rooted OOS. Incremental small sized ota won't work in case of root, and don't bother with it.
The downside of updating full whole zip is that you will loose root & twrp recovery after the update. So keep in mind, you will re-install both of them later.
2- I haven't tried beta, but i am sure yes
3- any switch between those requires clean flash in TWRP (wiping dalvik cache, cache, data, vendor and system). So, make sure to have backup in safe place.
4- yes, as long as you passed the safety net in Magisk. Magisk has a feature to hide root on certain apps of your choice, so you can use banking apps later
All my magisk installed whether in oos stable or custom roms, passed the safety net out of the box. So I haven't faced issues there.
I'm sorry if this was asked before, but I've been searching for a few hours now and I couldn't find a good solution.
Basically, I installed twrp and magisk on my "Redmi Note 5 A.I Global Version" a few weeks ago, and I recentely sold my whyred, just now I remembered that it has twrp on it, the guy that bought the phone doesn't mind but I don't want him to have any issues with the phone.
The phone is in MIUI 10 10.0.4, it's working great with no boot loops or anything, I just want to remove the costum recovery and relock the bootloader while being certain that the method I will use won't cause him any problems.
Can I just install miui 10 rom on twrp and it will remove twrp? And then relock with mi flash unlock?
Thank you.

Got the Mi 11 5G NE recently and I'm wanting to install LineageOS on it as per the installation guide: https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/lisa/install
However it says I must be on Android 12 and unfortunately I've already updated the phone to the latest Android 13 MIUI.
Just wondering if there's a reliable place to find the Android 12 stock firmware

MIUI Downloader will point you to the official ROMs
MIUI Downloader - Apps on Google Play
MIUI upgrade app for Mi users.
play.google.com
However, you would need to avoid downgrade protection (it can be done, you will have to download the Fastboot type ROM, unpack tgz, find a bat script inside that does not relock BL, edit the script to remove downgrade protection and use it then to flash manually via Fastboot - not by using MIFlash)
Btw, for any flashing you must first unlock the Bootloader (either for downgrading MIUI and/or for installing the custom ROM)

Ah nvm it went through.
Can/should I re-lock the bootloader after either rooting or installing LineageOS? might just stick with rooted stock, haven't decided yet
