Hi,
Why is it that in the new android on the stock rom for the P2 the sound notification is bugged. I just tripped bad because this is the 10th time at least that when I NEED to be accessible that the phone simply keeps silent while it is IN NOT SILENT mode. And when I put the phone in silent mode that messages come through and my phone makes sound (when I am in a meeting).
It is frustrating like ...Mod Edit: profanity removed... hell.
What is a stable custom rom, I am flashing today got enough of this stock rom. I don't care about warranty anymore if there still is any at all.
Seriously but the software on the Lenovo Z1 was at least more stable.
Unbelieveble that they are able to mess up basically the BASIC functionality of the phone

Hey. Little FAQ for you:
Which Custom Rom Android Version is stable enough?
- Nougat (nearly everything), then Oreo.
Custom Roms i can recommend:
- ViperOS by BabluS. : NOUGAT
- Nearly all Roms by Subham (Cardinal AOSP; Android Open Source Illusion Project) : OREO
- AOSP Extended : OREO + NOUGAT
- Firehound : OREO
Things to note:
- There are Camera bugs when changing to Custom Roms: Taking photos is normal, but video recording is buggy. Fail Safe app for video recording: Footej.
- Most Custom Roms already have it fixed, so you can use it as a daily driver all the way.
- In-App Video recording doesn't work , e.g.: in Whatsapp or Telegram; to get it working you have to edit the build.prop file. If you need help regarding that, Pm me.
- To get Fingerprint Gestures on Oreo you have to encrypt your phone. On Nougat, encryption isn't always neccessary, like on ViperOs.
I personally am on ViperOS Nougat.
Pros: Stable Connectivity; Bugless as i can tell, counting out video recording; build in- Black amoled mode- use the built-in theming engine.
Cons: Older Android Version, but that's totally unimportant. One-key doesn't work, on any kinda rom. Maybe in the future it will be useable again.

Hi.
I have this phone since months but I could not figure out which rom to install. I don't want to lose the Sony's camera so RR and CM is not an option. (Tried to flash it from cross-dev thread topics but just killed the rom)
The other problem is that from the stock roms the latest (D5503 14.6.A.1.236) has a prerooted version wich I still use but after a month it started freezing and rebooting and now doing it almost every hour.
I don't want to use previous builds because the latest has the best battery life.
Any idea?

Personally, I start from scratch, (flashtool ftf), then build, (root, busybox, recovery, mods, Xposed, etc.). I always keep a backup of base rooted rom, then make a backup whenever I do any major system changes successfully.
I'm pretty much satisfied with MX ROM. Few quirks here and there, but nothing major. Battery life is better than on stock, put Z5 camera libs, amplify and MobileRadioFix and it's very good. Probably there will be some new update soon.
Thanks for your answer.
I solved it. I use RR (this is my favourite) and the OpenCamera app seems better than the Sony's Camera app
I prefer kitkat. I can make it run for days on end whithout charging. Lollipop and MM just sucks the juice out of the phone. I don't feel either LP nor MM has that much that make it interesting for me to change to either of them.
Picture: mobile used for three days on battery (and yes, I have taken calls on it)

What is LineageOS?
LineageOS, also known as LineageOS Android Distribution and Lineage (/ˈlɪn.i.ɪdʒ/), is a free and open-source operating system for smartphones and tablet computers based on the Android mobile platform. It is the successor to the highly popular custom ROM CyanogenMod, from which it was forked in December 2016 when Cyanogen Inc. announced it was discontinuing development and shut down the infrastructure behind the project. Since Cyanogen Inc. retained the rights to the Cyanogen name the project rebranded its fork as LineageOS.

Great Rom
This ROM is great. Great Battery Life, performance. Using it since 2 days. Just that there are few issues that I faced while using this ROM.
1. SD card recognised and showed corrupted but unable to format it.
2. When using Netflix, If i get a text on WhatsApp and try to open it by tapping on the banner, phones goes to lockscreen.
3. Unable to use camera in WhatsApp.
Good roam very stable.only problem is fingerprint not working I hope it will be fixed in the next update
Did not disabled the camera2api on COS! and already installed the ROm ..that's why the front cam is not working now! What should i do?
Rear camera of default camera constantly crashing in latest build.Front cam working. Can't find the reason.
Lineage
Lineage os is awesome, smooth and performance
If YES - why think so? With samples before/after.
Almost all says that you will lose complete noise reduction after unlocking bootloader (especially in lowlight).
All I can say that nothing changed from camera side.
Shots from unlocked device (H8324): Lowlight and Daylight.
P.S. if you want normal photos in lowlight - use manual mode, auto is $hit.
I remember a couple of years ago, (I think with Pie release - update, I found it https://www.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-android-pie-unlock-bootloader-drm-fix-camera/), it was announced that they had changed what specific functions were tied up in TA, and that the effect of wiping the drm would be less drastic. Anybody who remembers what is was like on custom 7/8 roms knows that when you unlocked the bootloader, you better have a TA backup, or your camera was basically unusable. Now, there is a function or two that you lose when wiping, but it's subtle - maybe worse in low light or something...
I haven't seen any custom roms that can use the 960fps slow motion feature (although I don't know if that is due to DRM issues)
On my XZ2 Compact extreme slow motion works fine (LOS17.1+magisk+SELinux permissive).
After the last OTA update of LOS I had to reinstall Semc (adb sideload).
Here's comparison of 3rd party app on our phone (without noise reduction) vs RX100M3 (DSC* files)

Hey !
I have Just unlock the botloader of my XZ2 Compact (H8324) in the last firmware v52.1.A.3.49 (as it was advised) and Downgrade it to Pie v52.0.A.8.131 (because I prefer for severals reasons..) and then successfully installed TWRP (v3.3...) and Magisk (v25.2) and having a rooted phone !
First tests with the photo camera in low light :
Picture in 6400 iso very nice (for this sensitivity) ! (like before unlocking the bootloader)

This definitively confirm than losing the DRM Keys in the last firmware is no worries for pictures quality !

The full Android experience without Google Apps.
I am not developer in sence that I has developed this room. After throughfull testing around 20 rooms 9, 10 and 11, I found this room as most stable and working right out of box. As for now, Android 9 is outdated and 11th is full of bags and lacks stability. Out of Android 10 releases, Lineage OS is most polished and stable one, near to stock AOSP experience. Bunch of Gcams works with this room out of box, also Filmic pro, ANX and others. So far, only 60 fps video recording is abcent, which is not big matter. Via Magisk modules, I managed to achieve 24 bit high resourses audio play back with this room, without losing stability, which is more then enough for me. Also Dolby Atomos and Viper work flavlessly.
Since my device has only 2 gb ram, and also becouse I don't like Google look behind my sholder on everything I do, I decided to go for MicroG as Gaps replacement. Afrer trying set up Microg via Magisk module and otherwise, and experiencing numerous problems, I finally found a room which has them implemented by default: room Features
Since this room is not on xda Redmi7 forum, I decided to share its link with others, who have similar problems, like me. All credit goes to the original developers and modifiers. Download link: Download
Note: Tested on Orange Fox recovery 11.03 and Magisk 20.4.
Installation: Back up your data, such as files and downloads form inbuilt memory card. After moving to this room from Mooke 10, I have at last to format my data, since directory structure got coorupted after flashing LOS 17 (all files on inbuilt sd card were lost as sequence). From Orange Fox recovery wipe caches, system, vendor and data. Then perform formating of data. Flash the room. Flash Magisk 20.4 if you want root access. Default LOS kernel is pretty OK, but it doesn't have fast charge. I personally use SiLonT-Kernel V11.0.11 | 29/12/2020 (later build gives system error). Do not flash oficial Lineage OS updates over this room, since both has differnt signatures.
Thanks to moderator of this thread for correcting some aspects of my post.
