You need to buy either Whitestone Dome or SGFreshIdea's InvisShield tempered glass because they both us LOCA that adheres to the phone fully.
The other tempered glass protectors you're purchasing have adhesive only on the edges, which is what causes the rainbow effect.

i think this is not a good idea, the good one is to get rid of the rainbow effect on any lights, this is the first time i faced a problem with tempered glass like that

Hi All, so, as soon as I got my OPO I decided to get it protected with a tempered glass (first time I got tempered glass for a device), and really almost didn't use it until I was able to install the Orzly tempered glass so I have no comparison. I noticed that I get a lot of reflection when light is on the back, making it some times very hard to use, so my questions are:.
- Could my tempered glass protector be adding extra reflection or is the OPO screen also too reflective?
- Anyone has experienced the same with the Orzly?
- Is there a brand of tempered glass that would give less reflection?
Thanks
Not reflective but might be polarised
Mine isnt too reflective but I've think it might be polarised. When I use my polarised oakley sunglasses, the screen is completely black when I use it horizontally (landscape).
Could someone check their oneplus one (without a screen protector) to see if the same happens to them? I dont really want to have to remove the orzly just to check.
Cheers
Polarized
Just checked, the screen is polarized.

Ok. Cheers. Looks like I'm going to have to buy some new sunnies then!
I have ordered OnePlus 5T and it will be delivered in 2 days. I want to know that is it compulsory to apply screen protector or tempered glass? Or it will be find without it?
OP 5T comes with preapplied screen protector that is good enough quality for me, at least until it scraches
I applied a tempered glass protector to mine and am regretting it. I have now ordered a plastic protector to replace the glass ASAP. If I had known before, I would have kept the OnePlus plastic on!
Same for me, the OEM tempered glass is the worst I've ever seen, If I knew I never changed the plastic that was not perfectly installed but at least it won't have the corners with some parts without glue and now it looks with bubbles in that corners
Really? Is the official tempered glass screen protector bad? Going by videos I've watched people seem to really like it.
So, I am guessing there is no need to apply any screen protector or tempered glass as screen protector is already preapplied . Right?
Correct!
I regret that I pilled off pre-applied screenprotector. All current TGSP are garbage. If protection is you concern, do not pill off pre-applied screenprotector and order decent case from Spigen.
Thanks mate
Could someone please recommend a good glass screen protector?
Thank you in advance!
Push, i am also looking for a good temp glass.
Anyone has experiences with good temp glass and would recommend it?

Why would you need this if screen isn't curved? I have a Pixel 2 XL. And liquid adhesive is a expensive and a pain to install.
Tempered glass
Is the Nilkins tempered glass compatible with the clear case provided in the box?
I have installed 2 tempered glass and both will have air bubles when used together with clear case provided in the box
2nd question, anybody has experience using screen protector clearplex or X-one?

I removed mine to install glass. Better protection.
Yea! You can install glass over it. I did it on my first glass screen protector but the screen is not as clear to install glass alone.

Expensive, yes. I find easy to install though and while it has more steps it is far easier to get a perfect type fit, in the end. Regular temp glass lifts off, gets stuff under the edges, and is prone to that oil slick effect - the liquid adhere types solve those issues and aside from better fit/feel they last longer.
Hmm seeing as the Mate 20X screen is mostly flat and a little curve at the extreme edge (similar to iphones), is there any decent full coverage (those with the black borders) tempered glass for it?
I've seen a few at the shops but when i test fit them over my screen i can see that the black border covers some of the pixels of the screen, making it look like "surrounded" or "covered". like if you were to view an old website (where they put absolutely no padding at all) the left and the right side of the text will be cut off (Eg, the first letter "A", probably the left leg will be cut off)
This is also a problem I noticed with my iPhone X, most full coverage tempered glass being sold have their black borders a little too thick and will "eat" into the screen when applied, so far the only tempered glass i know of that has black borders and not exhibit this issue is the one by spigen (google for pics), their black border is thin enough that it does not interfere with the screen.
Wondering if such a product exists for the Mate 20 X?
I have the black border Tempered Glass on my Mate 20 X and also i have used these black borders Tempered glass for my Xiaomi Mi Mix 18K. Yes, it is true, they ,, eat '' a little bit from the screen edges, but i would rather prefer these and have a full coverage rather than the crystal clear ones and have the screen protected like 90%... as those dosen't fit on the entire screen. I don't mind at all the borders... it's only about 2mm , barely notice in everyday use...
So, if you guys want to have full coverage and full protection for the screen, goes for the black borders tempered glass... my honest opinion...

Those only have adhesive around the edges correct? Dot matrix and some rainbow effect, no?
Sent from my HUAWEI EVR-AL00 using XDA Labs
I've currently found one (google hoda mate 20 x tempered glass, I can't post links), 1st or second result, the black borders seem to be rather thinner, might want to order one to test but its about $20

That's true, rainbow effect and matrix, but i don't mind at all, is better to protect the entire screen rather than just 90% of the surface...
The matrix and rainbow effect is visible only with the screen off, with the screen turned on you can't see these effects...
I would still love to find a Whitestone type adhesive temp glass protector if anyone comes across a good one they would recommend.

You could grab those black border style adhesive at sides type tempered glass and convert it to those full loca glue type, just strip away all the extra film and leave it with the bare glass, then just get those spare glue tubes used in whitestone and apply it yourself, i did the same thing with my XZ2 Compact seeing no one sells a whitestone type full coverage protector so i did it myself
But for now, I am quite happy with my Nillkin H+ tempered glass (especially coming from me, since i am the type that normally prefers those full coverage full adhesive types), yes, it does not go all the way to the edge but as i'm using it with the provided huawei TPU case it fits just fine, more important is to protect the screen and get back that "glass" touch.
Im looking for a good glass screen protector. Ive bought 2 so far both having that awefull hole in the middle of the screen and the fingerscan not working
You need to get a screen protector that has glue that needs to be cured under UV light.
A whitestone dome glass screen protector comes to mind but there are others out there that are cheaper (just not as well known)...
Just make sure that you press down over the finger print area while curing so it has minimal glue to interfere with the fingerprint sensor.
Just be aware, depending on the case you use this may also cause the edges to lift. Can be expensive to have an incompatible case on...
Yea ive seen that, but im not into the whole glue thing. My brother has the same inscreen fingerprint on his oneplus 7T with a glass screenprotector without anything visueble. But he ordered one from oneplus store so idk what brand of screenprotectors would look the same

The whitestone dome glass screen protectors glue is not your typical type glue, if you need to remove the protector you can peel them off just like any other and it doesn'tc leave any glue on the screen and the screen looks just like the day you applied the protector.. The Whitestones are expensive so i'd watch some videos before I tried to apply. If done correctly its hard to tell you even have a protector on the phone.

Yea but i read alot of comments saying it crackle after a couple weeks. I dont mind spending 50 € butit has to be a good one
I am using the amFilm Ultra Glass Screen Protector that I got on Amazon. Its similar the whitestone as it has glue. But it is a lot cheaper $34 for a 2 pack. Took about a half hour to install after watching the video and it really functions well. No issues at all with the fingerprint sensor.
Hello,
i ordered bmy ZF3 a few days ago.
Which screen protector do you recommend?
i am looking for a tempered glass for the front facing display.
Screen protectors are usually crap (or all rate the same in terms of breaking(gorilla glass / tampered is usually a better option but if you really want to keep our screen and phone safe use a very thick padded generic folding cover it'll feel like youre carrying a brick in your pockect but your phone will be safe with 2 floors of fall damage (the indian shops in South Africa) usually have them but making a custom one is best it
**mustn't be too thick to put too much pressure on the screen when cover is closed**
I am currently using the whitestone dome tempered glass on the front. Works well. But seems to attract fingerprints.
I can second Whitestone dome ez protector on front. Finger prints doesn't seem to be a problem for me though
Assume U take off the existing front protector first correct?

To be honest in my perception for foldable devices the temper glasses are worst choice, since they are not flexible as screen protectors so there might be a chance of damaging your display. Its preferable to choose screen protector which is a thin film and works well for foldable

I believe he is just talking about using tempered glass on the front/outer screen. I don't see why that would be an issue. My tempered glass screen protectors for the front screen are arriving today and I can't wait to get the stock one off.

Using temper glass for Foldable devices is a bit risky I feel, there might be a chance of damaging the display while folding with tempers on. So I prefer screen protectors which are thin, flexible and its safer comparing to screen protectors. Also I've been using my S20 Fe with gadgetshieldz screen protectors on it for months and it works well.

Again, as was just stated in reply to your last comment, he's talking about using tempered glass for the OUTSIDE screen, NOT the folding one. There is no tempered glass screen protector for the folding display.

But it's not a tempered glass screen protector.
AGAIN, mobile freak said he wanted a tempered glass screen protector for the FRONT FACING SCREEN. Not the inner folding screen.
Seancannery88 just keeps replying that he doesn't recommend a tempered glass screen protector for the folding display.
And tempered glass screen protectors do NOT exist for the folding display. One with ultra thin glass (not tempered glass) does.
