SMS notification "try again on phone" BUT Actually sends text message?!? - Asus ZenWatch

I have been seeing this message when using OK Google to send a text message. All works fine...contacts lookup, text composition and send. Then I see:
"try again on phone"
BUT it Actually sends text message?!?
Any idea how to fix this. It's annoying.
I have had it happening on Android 6, 7 and 8 (8.1) all with my Zenwatch 1
Thanks,
Rich

Phone fails to receive SMS' / Getting PXT instead?

In my notifications,
Downloading message : PXT from xxxx (+phone number here)
0%
Then just dissapeares but I don't have a new sms in my mailbox.
So I messaged the person again(was expecting a SMS anyway) and a while later, got the same thing in my notifications but this time a SMS in my box saying "PXT" with an attachment, though when I click it, all I get is text (which has the message body in it).
I'm assuming its a picture message, but how did the text get converted into a picture, and did I fail to download the first message?
I doubt it's the other side's fault but we were having a conversation and halfway through this happened.
Somewhat confused here as to what's happening

HTC TF3D displays 1 unread text message at all times.

I have a Tilt 2 and am running the stock ROM with TouchFlo 3D. The unread text message indicator is stuck indicating at least one unread message at all times, even if there is not. If "n" is the number of actual unread text messages, then the phone always displays "n+2" as the number of unread messages.
I deleted all my text messages, hoping this would fix it, but even with no messages in my inbox, the phone continued to indicate 1 unread message.
Not a critical issue, but a little annoying. Is there any way to fix this?

There's a cab to fix that floating all around these forums, just search for "unread message count fix"
Found and fixed. Thank you SirPhunkey.
i had the same problem.. took me another 45 minutes to read all the posts and find the program that actually worked. everybody was talking about outlook email doing it which didnt matter to me..
here's a link to the page that has the program

I have the same issue, although I'm up to 4 unread messages. I've had to use that fix way too many times to fix this issues. I'm using T-mo stock 6.5 and I thought that the update was supposed to FIX this issue! I've noticed this problem occur when my messaging box has a lot of messages in it. I was trying to delete old messages once (which took over 30 minutes to complete - way too long) and thats when two of the unread messages appeared.

[Q] How do I view my 'Sent' SMS messages?

I can view conversation threads with people in my Contact list, but what if I want to review an SMS message I've sent to someone who isn't in my Contacts? Or if I've forgotten who I sent a message to? There doesn't seem to be a 'Sent Messages' folder to browse?
See the "Text Messaging" icon in your tray (near the bottom), if I click on mine it shows all my texts.

Sorry, don't know what you mean. What app are you using?
I have no tray and no text messaging icon.
I am just using the native 'Text Messaging' App - It only shows INCOMING SMS messages.

In my native text messaging app, incoming texts are displayed in yellow bubbles, but outgoing ones are in grey bubbles in the same chat window. If the contact is not in my contacts list, then just the number appears instead of the name.
Hope that helps.

Yes, If I select an INCOMING text, then the conversation thread opens and I see the grey and yellow bubbles you have described, but that only works if I can find an INCOMING text from that particular contact.
When I open the Text Messaging App, I can only see a list of RECEIVED messages (no SENT MESSAGES), so I can't select a SENT MESSAGE. There is no option to view SENT messages.
Or put it another way, I can't see SENT messages to anyone who hasn't replied.
Try sending a new text message to a non-contact (someone who has never sent you a message). Then search for the message you have just sent? You can't find it.
Go to your apps drawer and click on "Messaging" app. From there select "Text Messages". This will open all the conversations you have had. I have several in there from people who are not in my contacts due to craigslist sales and wrong number texts.
Edit: Nevermind, I think I misunderstood you. I don't know any numbers to text that are not in my contacts that haven't already texted me so I can't check what you are saying.

Yes I can.
Top entry in the list of conversations in the text messaging app.
Also, for other contacts, I see a snippet of the most recent message in the conversation, not the most recent received message - so if I was the last person to say something, it shows the start of the message I sent.
No idea what's wrong with your handset to be honest...

OK you are right, sorry for the confusion.
It's just that there is no distinction between RECEIVED messages and SENT messages in this view (They are the same colour, font, background).
I guess I am used to my WM6 device where I had seperate folders (views) for Inbox and Sent.
What I'm asking is - is there any way I can view ALL and ONLY my SENT text messages? without seeing RECEIVED?

Not with the stock messaging app.
Maybe if you were to use a third-party app like Handcent but that's really just a guess on my part as I've never used it myself...
from market - go sms pro . free right now , it has inbox, sent, outbox and all that

SMS Disappearance

Hello
So I have experienced my first "bug" with my GN (or maybe it's ICS?)
I was browsing in chrome when I noticed at the bottom it said "message received" in an overlay. As you do when you get a message while using the phone.
What didn't happen was it didn't scroll through the message at the top of the screen in the status bar. I thought it was a bit weird. So I opened my messages and nothing new was there. It didnt make any sound either, so I thought I was crazy and moved on.
As I was having a conversation with my partner at the time, she messaged me a few mins later wondering what my response was and I told her I didn't receive anything at all.
This is quite concerning. The phone most definitely recognised I got a message but it didn't show up. She said she sent 2 messages. Has anyone else experienced something similar?
We're both on the same network if its even possible this could be a carrier issue.
The "message received by <phone number>" toast message at the bottom of the screen is the other party receiving one of your messages. You turn this on in Messaging > Settings > Delivery reports. This will show next to the time stamp of every sent message in a thread the SMS icon with a green check mark over it whenever the message is confirmed to be received by the other party
You not receiving messages is a different issue. Try installing something like "Ghostly SMS" to see if your phone is losing SMS messages. I haven't heard of this as an issue in ICS yet.

[Q] Messages "received notifications"

I like the look and feel of the standard SMS app, HTC Messages (I have tried all the others), but I have a problem with one aspect to it and I was wondering if anyone had a solution.
I like to receive a "message received" confirmation and so select in the setting to get one, but I also like to get a "popup" on the lockscreen of the message details - but if you select "display message on lockscreen", you also get a standard notification for message received. With all the other SMS apps you just get a tick within the message bubble (which you get as well with HTC Messages).
Is there anyway to still get a "message received" confirmation (as a tick within the message bubble), but no standard Android notification AND have a popup on the lockscreen?
Cheers
