Gmail Client + Attachments = FAIL

Ok so are any attachments in the Gmail client supported? I can not download or save any form of attachment when using the built-in client. Whats even more bizarre is that I can not save attachments using the default web browser either? When I open the exact same male in Opera on the phone I can save the attachments with no problem.
Anyone else experiencing the same problems?
Never had an issue with:
- Photos
- ZIP files
- MP3s
I've not tried anything else
AttachSave Lite from the market allows you to save Gmail attachments - install it, ignore it, then when you select download it'll appear as a 'complete action using' app.
If you have a problem with attachments with Gmail official app, do the following:
1) go to settings/applications
2) find gmail
3) clear data
And attachments will work again.
Best regards!

[Q] Tablet not showing certain apps

Received my Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition on Friday there and noticed it doesn't have icons in the Apps menu for some preloaded applications like Google Play Books etc. The strange thing is they are installed on the device as you will see in the screenshots. I can open then by going into the Google Play store searching for the app and rather than getting "install" I get an open button which opens up the app and it works perfectly.
I have tried restoring device to factory defaults via the option in the settings menu.
I have tried restoring device using Kies. It downloaded the firmware and installed it on the device.
I have looked repeatedly in the apps menu for the icons and I'm certain they're not there. I have even screenshotted the menu as there is only one page.

To get your GPS working download these files GPS Fix and put them on your SD Card.
Then open File Manager (if you have it get one from the playstore) go to Settings -> General Settings, scroll a bit till you get to Access mode. Click it and choose Root Access Mode wait a bit and a window will show asking you for a root permission, choose remember always and click allow.
Then go back to the File Manager and navigate to the SD card and find the files u downloaded a moment ago, mark them and click on the little blue box with a circle inside in the upper left corner it will open a side menu, choose Root Folder , navigate to ETC , after click on the 8 dots that are located in the left down corner and choose move selection here.
Look for the GPS.conf file, place your finger and hold till options windows shows up, choose Properties and then Permissions.
In Permissions you have to choose under Owner you should have ticked only R and W, in Group only R, and in others only R, untick everything else.
Click ok, and search for SuplRootCert, and again do the same thing with permissions.
Reboot your device after that.
Then go to play store and download GPS Status & Toolbox .
Make sure you have turned on location from settings.
Get out from your house so you have a clear view to the sky and wait with the app opened for several minutes.
I tested this on my old Wildfire S and it works. You have to wait quite a bit the first time( like 10mins or so), but after that it works with no problems.
Hope i helped!

Dual Apps setting

Hi everyone. I'm trying to sign in to a second whatsapp using the Dual Apps feature. But somehow the second WA account does not allow me to Restore my chats from Google Drive.
The first WA account is operasional just fine. But i keep geeting, "If you previously backed up to Google Drive and want to restore it, give WhatsApp permission to check your Google account for backups", which then I click "GIVE PERMISSION"
And a pop up shows: Choose an account > Add an account
When I click that, it goes back to "If you previously.... etc"
Soooo helppp anybody know how I can restore my messages?
Nevermind I found the solution Apparently they have a different storage location for dual apps.
If anyone has the same problem, you need to copy the chat history manually and paste it to the correct location.
STEPS FOR WHATSAPP CHAT:
1. From old phone, go to Internal Storage > Whatsapp > Databases, copy this file "msgstore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt12" choose the latest one.
2. On the Mi Max, go to Internal Storage > Storage for Dual Apps > Whatsapp > Database, paste here.
NOTE: You should do this BEFORE signing in to Whatsapp. You cannot restore the conversation after you logged in.
Similar thing goes for Line chat history, paste all the chat history to Internal Storage > Storage for dual location
How to backup and restore, you have to do it one by one for every chatroom. You can google this

Cann't install apps anymore on Pixel 2XL

Hello all,
I cann't find a solution to install apps in sideload on my Pixel 2XL.
It was after flashing version 10 in the beginning of september.
After a lot of trying I give up and hope someone else here can help me.
My Pixel 2XL is unlocked but not rooted.
Normally I do the sideload by transfer an apk to my dropbox. After that I start it up and do what the system tells me.
Nowadays I got a return of a message in dropbox that -it is impossible to open the apk and download an app to open the apk-.
After that I download the apk to my download folder to try again. Then, when trying to startup, I get a popup with the name off the apk, the version nr, the size and packagename.
There is also a button to view apk content. When I push that button the right folders of the apk are indeed visible.
There are also 3 options. One to install, one to go to playstore and one to stop further actions and go back.
When I try to use the button install the result is that nothing happened, no signal, no message from the system, no popup, really nothing.
You all know that this is not what I want. I just want to install the apk. I have tried it with a few other apk's with the same results. :crying:
Before the last OTA upgrade to android 10 it was normal to install with these methods.
Thanks for who can helping me and others for trying to help me.
Greetings.

Have you enabled install apps from unknown sources? You'll also need to enable apps to install apps from what I can see in android 10. If you pull up an apps indignation you can expand the options and there will be an option to allow it to install apps, which Dropbox may need. The first one needs to be enabled to install apks from the download folder.

Thanks for helping me.
I did all these settings before.
Now I tried to open another filemanager (Google Files) and that did the job.
I don't know why installing in dropbox or installing in es file explorer doesn't do the same with equal settings.
Maybe an idea to uninstall and re-install these apps?
Anyway, a lot of thanks for your answer.

Android 10, install from unknown sources is like an app permission now, you have to grant it to things like chrome (download apk and install) and file managers rather than a global setting for phone. Safer as you trust an app o do it rather than letting some malware in background filling your phone with crap.

Uninstalling and reinstalling will not work, as I've done that with my modded version of ES File Explorer. This is a change in Android itself.
Go to Settings > Apps & Notifications > Special App Access > Install Unknown Apps. A list of apps will appear. Select an app and toggle the switch.
NOTE: Dropbox is on the list, but at least on my device my modded version of ES File Explorer is not.
