Please help me to update Lumia 530 to Windows 10 - Windows 10 Mobile

Hi
I've updated a long time ago my Lumia 530 to Windows 10 with the registry hack.
After a long time since I've last used it, I I needed to reuse it, but I had to reset it with Windows tool, because it wasn't working well, due to the long time of shut down without battery. Obviously the tool gave me 8.1.
I wanted to do the hack again, because I luckily saved the website page, but, doing the same steps, the phone still doesn't find Windows 10 update. In addition, most of the tuts that you can find online are outdated, so they're useless (also because you cannot join insider program anymore).
I need Windows 10, also due to work issues.
Can you please help me? Any help is really appreciated! :highfive:
Thanks in advance & regards,
F

Hi
Thank you for your help but Lumia 530 doesn't have Windows 10, I did an hack to update it. When I used this tool, it said "no updates available".
I was searching for a working hack to permit the update in my phone, because the one I used doesn't work anymore.
Thanks:highfive:

The Lumia 530 is not compatible with Windows 10 because it only has a 4 GB memory board, and 8 GB is the minimum (with 1 GB of RAM). A hack exists, but requires external storage and a modification of device targeting info.

Moreover, it does not work well under CU or FCU. Stay on AU.

The modification of devicetargetinginfo was exactly what I was looking for. Can you please tell me one that works? I've tried with Lumia 9xx series but it doesn't work well. Can you please send me another one? Thank you :highfive:
PS Can you please send me not only the device name, friendly name, hardware variant? Because it seems like there's a conflict between one of the edited values and a stock value, TY

Hi,is there a way in 2020 to put W10 in a no eligible Lumia 530?I have tried the trick with "Windows insider" and "Preview for developers" one year ago but that didn't work (impossible enter in fast ring) and the Wphone 8.1 store shut down now .Do you think I can do it if I modify the registry with custom-pfd-003.xap to pretending my phone is a 535 instead of 530 and after I will apply the OTC UPDATE.I'm wondering if that will work .
Thank you

[Q] Windows 10 for Lumia 520

I have read that many Lumia users were able to install Windows 10 on unsupported phones but it doesn't seem to work for me in Lumia 520. I either get 'Server Error' or 'no builds'. What is it that I have done a mistake and how can I install Windows 10 on my 520?
P.S. I'm not an expert so I need step-by-step method.

You have to use a custom certificate to trick the app into thinking you're on a different phone that has official Windows 10 support.

Hi, here's a tutorial, which worked for me, but it is German. You'll probably understand it by watching the video. http://wparea.de/2015/02/windows-10...nterstuetzten-smartphones-installiert-werden/
This worked for my Lumia 520, you just need to use following values in the registry editor instead.
PhoneFirmwareRevision
02061.00074.14273.33019
PhoneManufacturerModelName
RM-975_1005
PhoneMobileOperatorName
ATT-US
thx
Good news Than you.

(Petition) Find a way to get updated to W10M RS1 On 512MB devices

Hello guys, today I just figure out a way to get redstone on 512mb devices, this is not an tutorial, its a petition for windows phone users who have an official eligible lumia device for Windows 10 Mobile to share a real important data from their official windows devices.
In this case I need some screenshots from a device updated with upgrade advisor and not via windows insider, needs to be on TH2 of course, I'm trying to bypass MS hardware verification process. this process block our devices with 512mb to be connected througth Windows Insider Server.
Things I need to setup a working method for upgrade our devices to RS1:
1- Official eligible Lumia device for Windows 10 Mobile
2- Device updated througth Upgrade Advisor
3- screenshots> 1 with default W10m Extras&info outdated and other with Extras&info updated.
4- install interop tools.
5- Navigate for the followings strings:
(Instead of /OEM/NOKIA can be /OEM/Microsoft or /OEM/MicrosoftMDG)
HKLM/SOFTWARE/OEM/Nokia/Variant/BSPRelease
HKLM/SOFTWARE/OEM/Nokia/Variant/ConfigurationID
HKLM/SOFTWARE/OEM/Nokia/Variant/labelID
HKLM/SYSTEM/Platform/DeviceTargetingInfo/ < here I need all the strings stored for example: "PhoneManufacturer" "PhoneManufacturerModelName" "PhoneModelName" "PhoneHardwareVariant" and more.
6- Shared all these info from your device here + screenshots and let call it a day, redstone is waiting for us guys!
Do you know a way to get WM10 on 512 mb device right now? I''m stuck and unable to update since MS change the release preview ring to the redstone build.
a registry edit is not enough, if you managed to install RS1 your phone will simply bootloop, there are missing files that are related to that continuum hack and cant be shared at the moment, so please just be patient, whenever they can share the procedure they will make it available, asking a bazillion times wont change a thing

No but there is a rendering issue (on devices with virtual keys) which causes apps not to fit to the screen. Normally, you hide the nav bar and it is fixed but 630 doesnt have that hiding option.
New version of DHT UpgradeAdvisor released and should be allow you to upgrade your phones . http://forum.xda-developers.com/win...-dht-upgrade-advisor-redstone-lumias-t3434774

I have the same issue on where some apps not fit, but lumia 635 and 636 have the same screen resolution so I think updating to the new release preview cummulative update will fit again

Install Windows 10 Mobile Redstone 14393.67 on 512 RAM devices

Note that the guideline is for devices which are running Windows 10 TH2.
I have successfully installed Windows 10 Redstone on my Lumia 520 with build 14393.67, so I post this topic for those who want to experience Windows Anniversary on a limited hardware device like me.
Firstly, you need to ensure your phone is "interop" and can be changed its registry. If yours can't, you can refer to the previous post "Interop Tools Appx for Windows 10 Mobile - registry editor" written by @dxdy
http://forum.xda-developers.com/win...interop-tools-appx-windows-10-mobile-t3373675
 @dxdy: Thank you for posting...
Secondly, change your phone information to "Lumia 950 XL" (After installing the interop tool included in the link above - version 1.7 is recommended)
Open the interop app, navigate to Registry Browser
HKEY_LOCAL_MICHINE/SYSTEM/Platform/DeviceTargetingInfo, then change:
PhoneManuafacturer: "NOKIA" --> "MicrosoftMDG"
PhoneHardwareViriant: ----> RM-1085
PhoneManuafacturerModelName: ---> RM-1085
PhoneModelName: ---> Lumia 950 XL
Important: If you are participating in Insider, you MUST STOP it. Otherwise, you won't receive any builds even Fast/Slow/Release Ring
Go to Update/Check update --> if you see the anniversary build, just waiting as usual. If not, install Upgrade Advisor from the Store, then check
Sometimes, you need to check by both ways (Settings/check update and Advisor) in turn to get updates.
That's all...
Good luck to you
For those who are using WP8.1, you can search "How to interop WP 8.1/ change registry" to upgrade to Windows 10 TH2 first, then apply my guideline, it's supposed to be working fine too.
Is it still possible to update WP8.1 to windows 10 TH2 using interop? Have anyone tried it?

Indeed, I understand what you are worried
Needless to say, because of limited hardware, so the device will got stuck sometimes if you open more apps or "heavy apps" like Facebook (>300MB), Messenger (>200MB). However, in genneral, I feel it is even better than TH2 545 actually - opening apps faster, smoother, lots of interesting changes we need to explore.
I am happy with this anniversary build
Hope you will be brave and experience such amzing things

The same issue that I explained few months ago here in another thread, but didn't get an useful answer. I have a Nokia Lumia 920 device, and with many different builds of Win10m, either many builds of WinPhone 8 & 8.1 tried to modify Virtual Memory values, everytime following all kind of guides step by step correctly, but always failed to Interop Unlock my Lumia 920.
I tried to do it following guides that works with Registry Providers and without mentioning them, working with Interop Tool S, with Interop Tool L, with previous versions of them, with Custom PFD, with VcReg, ... with any of possible known tools &/or any version of them, but always failed.
Resuming, I don't know if those tools just works with counted and specific devices where the Lumia 920 is not included, if it is my own Lumia 920 that could have any kind of internal problem that I need to solve first (maybe flashing an specific ROM, unlocking/restoring Bootloader, erasing all and manufacture it again [hahahaha], ...), but I never get success with it.
__
In other way, I use to ask about the possibilities of get a dual boot or change OS on Lumia 920, after read that in few lower models were possible to run Android and install GRUB2 on them (what could give anyone the chance to select between 2 Operative Systems installed), and the typical answer is that "if you want android, just buy an android device" or "work on something like this is not relevant" or "is stupid to try it, because drivers of components and blablabla", and mostly answers with silence (no answer in months/years).
XDA is supossed to be a forum to try to collaborate by developing or helping those who develop or want to implement what others develop. But above all, developing things that could be a big challenge that we want to overcome, because after all, this is what did, does and will continue doing the XDA community the greatest dev community of internet; but with this kind of passive attitude and without any curiosity, (which are reflected in that kind of answers up related), doesn't help at all, and even less in the Windows section, so low and less advanced compared to Android, due to the lack of interest of the most of the great developers of this great family.
Recently I offered myself with my own device in another thread to work in something. Well, let's see in a future if I get any proposal or collaboration. Surely never.

Help needed to install Windows 10 for ARM32 for Nokia Lumia 2520 RT

Hi guys, can anyone help to install Windows 10 for ARM32 for Nokia Lumia 2520 RT tablet?
Same procedure as other devices but you will have to substitute the drivers with ones from the 2520 aside from qcpep which has to be replaced with an alternative one which I think came from the Lumina WoA project staff (From Lumia 930?). However, if your 2520 has been kept up to date with the latest patches under RT 8.1 then you won't be able to jailbreak it in order to use 15035

The short version as I understand it is that Nvidia screwed up in users favor which makes the Tegra Surfaces immune to permanent effects of the jailbreak killing Windows RT updates. On these devices reversing the negative effects of theses updates is as simple as a factory reset.
Sadly with the Lumia 2520, Qualcomm did the job right and at present there is no going back if a jailbreak killer has ever been installed.
I will try to find the detailed explanation I read and post it here asap.

I was unable to find the explanation that I read but if I find it again I will post.
I could be wrong and there might be more to it but I think the general idea was that Nvida did not implement the mechanism that handles the revocation of previously issued certificates correctly whereas Qualcomm did. On a previously updated Lumia 2520 this prevents the Secure Boot Debug Policy from working because its certificate is no longer going to be valid on the device.

Go to Discord. I discuss all the sub-genes there. The system is not ready for public use. Testsign, secureboot and everything you need is there. No problem using Linux via grub uefi. It is much more difficult to find developers who will do this. And Tales about the impossibility of disabling Secureboot is just a fact of bygone days. The device is now free of these restrictions.
No touch, no modem, no BT, no audio, adreno 330 not work.
But yesterday qcpep and qcpepproxy did not work as expected.
Today they are working as expected.
I will start other hardware devices too. It just takes time.

I know this device is so outdated and all, yet it'd be nice to get some use out of it. Anyone have a proper guide on how to accomplish what @CageOff was saying in order to bypass the security update patches and getting securebooot unlocked. I've tried so many different methods and gotten nowhere in my attempts to get working BOOTABLE USB media for 8.1. No guide clearly explains/points out that the Myriachan's Jailbreak is the exploit specifically intended for the Qualcomm Nokia Lumia 2520 to get the test mode exploit going (if it works). Longhorn obviously doesn't work as it can't install Golden Keys. I went to the Telegram group @CageOff mentions, but there is no way to talk to the person nor any clear info about how he managed to dualboot win10 arm/win8.1 arm. If anyone could shed some light on me here, It'd be much appreciated.

Myriachan is not specifically intended for Qualcomm devices, its just that it can't be permanently patched against but this won't help you for 15035.
I don't have a 2520 but from what I can tell CageOff seems to have booted 15035 on a 2520 but the details are getting lost in translation and a writeup doesn't seem to be forthcoming. From what I can gather even though he has booted 15035 on his 2520, he has done so without the installation of the QCPEP driver and without this driver virtually nothing else will work.
On QCEP - BetaWiki.net
This build does not support the Nokia Lumia 2520 Qualcomm Power Engine Plugin driver. Loading a newer driver for the Snapdragon 800 is mandatory.

The newer driver I believe is harvested from the LumiaWOA project, specifically taken from the Lumia 930 package. It could be worth looking at how WFAv7_Installer installs 15035 on a 930? It might shed some light on the driver ordering, as far as I've been told Qualcomm stuff has to be dealt with in a certain order.
Before you put too much time in to this though remember 15035 is about as much use a chocolate teapot so remember its just for fun. If you spend a week figuring it and actually get it all working in the hope of making an ex-RT device useful you are going to be a little disappointed at the end of it.

That's definitely worth looking into in regards to the "WFAv7_Installer". I just tried the WOA Deployer v2.7.1 and it seems it could be of great use in getting Win 10/11 arm onto this device. Of course, if one can figure out how to access/enter a Mass Storage mode first.
I also read in another forum article that the IOT versions of Windows seems to be more useful for this device, rather than trying to get the standard Pro/Home editions. They also mentioned that one may need to apply the drivers from the original Win 8.1 RT in order to get all of the devices hardware working though. I would personally like to give this a try, but I can't seem to get to the point of being able to install Win 10 build 15035 onto my device. I can't enable test-signing mode, nor disable bootloader with any of the jail breaks available. I get the error code 0x000000000000d (not sure i put the correct amount of zero's there), which seems to give no existing info on the net for that error code, only a few forum posts regarding the variant to that code which ends in "f" which seems to be related to the Surface 1/2 devices.
I know I can format the eMMC properly via command prompt, diskpart, and dism (for Win 8.1 RT), then disable BitLocker (even though C:\ still says Bitlocker Encrypted). Yet, I just can't get the Win 10 media to work which i assume is due to secure boot. Does it make any difference if I'm using the install.wim or install.esd versions of the media?

WOA Deployer is specifically for deploying WoA on the Lumia 950 & 950 XL, it doesn't support Windows 10 15035 or ARM32 devices like the Lumia 2520.
Windows 11 is out of the question, only small parts of it were built for ARM32 (nothing close to a full client) and the bits that were built won't work with this SoC. I don't believe WFAv7_Installer ever had the 2520 in mind, I only suggested it because how it prepares an image for some of the Lumia phones might shed some light on how an image would need to be prepared for the 2520.

That's going to come down to what you define as useful but personally I don't see any point in running IoT on a tablet. At the time of writing only the 15035 client build is available and that's now over five years old. Drivers taken from the RT 8.1 recovery image would be required along with the replacement PEP driver mentioned previously but its possible not all drivers will be compatible with IoT.

To enable test mode you would need either Golden Keys or the Myriachan jailbreak, unless you are lucky then the device you have might not be capable of using Golden Keys anymore. If I'm remembering correctly the Myriachan jailbreak is only useful for running third party applications under RT 8.1 and wouldn't assist in running another OS.

Windows 10 15035 isn't available as an ESD, you would need to take the 15035 installation files and properly add the drivers to boot.wim, install.wim and winre.wim before copying them to USB and attempting the installation. CageOff seems to have installed 15035 without the use of Golden Keys but even when booted the installation of 15035 is useless because he has not added the PEP driver.
A clean 15035 if you don't have one (No drivers):

I don't know much at all about the 2520 and pretty much anything I say about it could be wrong
