Yep correct, didn't notice that the ribbon cable included the mic on it, but after thinking for more 5$ he get the loud spear and the board, but i don't know what he wants exactly

Ya should work perfect. New microphone, charger port and headphone jack for about $10 bucks can't complain. ??

[Q] HTC Desire Components

Hi!
I recently bought a HTC Desire from a friend, seems like he manage to break the minijack (only one headphone works when plugged in - the left one works, both works when i pull the jack further out, but with terrible connection), i tried to clean it - but still the same problem..
Also the speaker is broken..
Are there any places i can get hold of a speaker and minijack for HTC Desire?
Is it possible to solder of those to components and change?
Thanks for all help on beforehand!
Best regards,
DanVazz

Don't know how well that would go, I think you'd be better off buying the upper board (or upper and lower) and replacing that.
So where can I get this "upper board"?
Thanks for quick reply!

Seems like its going to be this one then. Also this will only change the minijack i guess.. Most likely going to buy this one to, if this one will replace speaker.

S3 3.5mm jack

I noticed today that my headphones / car stereo etc is only playing out of the left speaker unless I jiggle it. At first I assumed it was a wire going so I tried 5 different aux cables and 2 different headphones, it's all the same deal.. have to look for that sweet spot to make it play in both speakers.
I bought this launch day and I am pretty shocked the 3.5mm is going already, I've already tried cleaning it with dust off (air can) and it's still the same. What does sprint generally do to fix this? I have insurance, but I really hate getting a refurbished phone back... had bad luck with them in the past! Let me know if you guys know anything else I can try to repair it myself or if its a lost cause and just let sprint replace it.
thanks!

Honestly...I would just let sprint fix it. I don't think they would send you a totally new phone, but instead ask you to take it to a repair center. I have had that problem before but with a few cheap aux cables I had. I always tried a fresh new one and it worked fine...maybe all of your cables are going bad haha you never know!

hah, ill look into that tomorrow thanks.. I even swapped one of my cables with a brand new one and still the same thing so I guess it's the phone :\. Time to get a bluetooth aux adapter for my car so I don't have to unplug replug over and over.
Yours is defective. I use my 3.5mm jack everyday no issues.

yup its just from plugging it in and out too much over the past month, they replaced the jack free of charge in 20 minutes, works great again thanks
When I got my GS3, the same thing happened to me. I was about to unroot and call Sprint for a new phone... The I saw a thread with someone else with the same problem.
Turned out that what was wrong was that I just hadn't pushed the jack in far enough. Sounds to ridiculous to be true... But try it. Push your headphone plug in nice and firm until you hear a resounding "click".
I felt dumb, but saved me the grief of returning.

yeah I thought that at first, it wasnt that. a pin inside the jack somehow became loose enough to not make contact with the plug. the guy showed me after he fixed it.

Glad that wasn't the case for me... Would have hated having to unroot and reflash! Glad you got your phone fixed.

[Q] Is there any way to disable the aux jack?

Is there any way to disable the aux jack? I think there is some debris permanently stuck in it and am wondering if there is any method to disable the aux jack. My phone is stuck in 'headphone' mode and is creating a lot of problems. Mic doesn't work unless I put it on speaker mode.
Thanks for your time.
Have you tried using a compressed air duster to clean the jack out?

Yeah, I have. Might just tear the whole body apart and see what's wrong with it.

Don't do it unless you are very very skilled. Try googling for "ifixit htc m8" and see how hard it is to tear open this guy. Yours sounds like an issue eligible for warranty.
Download roundabout from play store. It can override the head phone Jack.

Xperia ZL Microphone Replacement

Is it possible to replace faulty microphone? by buying new working one, and replacing it...
i have found microphone parts, it comes with camera button flex cable.
i'm not sure it is worth it or not to buy new one...
if i replace it it must work right?
if that really is software problem i do not think sony ever fixes it...
I just today replaced my microphone, and now everything works fine. Ordered it from Aliexpress.

is this the part you bought? front mic? i'm going to buy one... does it need soldering or something or i just place it and connect flex cables and that's it?
Yep that's the one. There's no need for soldering, you only have to connect it to motherboard.

Thanks, I'm going to order it.

Changing the charge port on SM-T800 is relatively easy....

... if you don't do something stupid like I did. If you pay attention, research, watch videos, etc, you won't do what I did. I found a charging port on amazon that came with the tools needed to get the job done for about $15. I opened the case and all went well up to the point that I needed to disconnect the old piece. I followed all directions up to disconnecting the wide connection. There are 2. One right next to the port and the other at the opposite end of the ribbon cable. Not paying a bit of attention to what I was doing, instead of popping up the little latch that holds the cable down, I pried up the ribbon cable. Thus breaking off the connector that is soldered to the board. Now, I have a tablet that works until the battery dies.
Moral to the story, pay attention. Replacing the port is easy. Just pay attention.
Now, does anyone know if the connector can be replaced? Can I get a new board? Or am I out $400+?!
Follow-up question. I am looking around and it looks like I can get a replacement motherboard. Before I spend the money on a new motherboard (and hopefully not break this one), how will it function? I am rooted. Will I be starting from scratch with a stock tablet? No OS at all? Just fine and still rooted?
Thanks.

Did you ever find a solution? I just did the same thing. I was trying to be careful - but that top piece just broke right off of the connector to the motherboard. Am I screwed?!

What piece broke off? You might be in luck cause i have 3 tab s's taken apart right now and can probably send you the part you need. Can you pm a picture of the part you broke? The charging port is connected to a cable and i just had it apart. What did you break on it?

Wow - that would be awesome. Truth be told, I'm doubting this is something I'll be able to do myself, but I'm about to have a dead/useless tablet, and nothing to lose. So I'm willing to try!
Thanks!
Here are the broken pieces. In case anyone is thinking about doing this - they're very fragile!
Again, not sure about my ability to take the piece off of the motherboard, and/or attach a replacement.
Anyone ever try it before? I'm hoping I wouldn't have to take the motherboard out and/or solder anything!

Unfortunately the motherboard i have is broke and it doesnt start up. I thought it was the charging port so i cant help you out. You can buy a new board for 99 dollars though or just buy a used broke one off ebay and switch the board out. It is very easy to do and there are videos on you tube. People have used ones for cheap with broke lcds or screen burn. Buy one of those and switch out the top board cause that is all you need. I have all the other parts but my main board has something wrong with it. If you do that just make sure you get the same model number cause i just bought a verizon one and the motherboard wont work with my att one. I have 2 att ones that i was able to swap out.
