None of these sites you mentioned are trustworthy and working. Where did you see that root is being worked on? I post on multiple thread because I figured others on the general android can see more than the specific device thread.

I was trying to build LineageOS for sm-j327p using the guide from the wiki, but I realize now that it is only for supported devices. I need help on how to build it. I already downloaded the source code, but I am not sure if I have to extract proprietary blobs, but even when I tried that, it didn't work because I didn't have a directory with the device specific files.

I've never built a ROM but, here's just a handful of guides to help you get a good start. Don't be afraid to ask for some member guidance within one of them.

I'm trying to access to 'cyanogenmod.providers.CMSettings' to check for values on System, Secure and Global Settings, but seems are not correct. Maybe the path is different?

Thank you for your reply @ibuorophen, but unfortunately 'lineageos.providers.LineageSettings.' is not registered as a correct path to Settings.
Note: already tried with 'cyanogenmod.providers.CMSettings', and no luck too.

I did a bit of digging and i do believe that it's now the "lineageos.providers.LineageSettings"...
I saw this reference on a few occasions and, maybe, the following will be a bit more helpful.

This was located within the Classes of the Lineage.Providers category.

Hi, Sorry if this is redundant or a bad post, I'm new to XDA.
I've been looking around the forums and other sites for the past 6 hours or so and i cant seem to find any custom roms (that i can successfully) install to my S5 active.
I just got it (second Hand burner) and all the install methods seem to rely on Safestrap of which i cant seem to find a valid installer for.

I don't know what I'm missing and if there isn't a publicly available ROM for the phone i would love to make one but i don't know where to start.

Thanks thats really helpfull, however i hit a snag with flashfire, it crashes after it says checking for pro, ive already looked through the thread and found 2 links but neither helped.
Edit, FlashFire wasn't the issue, it's safestrap, it appears to not work? I reboot into recovery mode and nothing. Standard Samsung recovery

I'm trying to find a combination file for my galaxy s7 edge. I have come across many and am under the impression that as long as my firmware number matches except for the last 4 digits it should be compatible. The only issue is I can't find one close to my firmware number. Or I may have grossly misunderstood the document on how to read combo file names. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Thank you for the help. I've tried the combination file you've provided and it worked! However, I realized too late that the combination file was for an ATT phone and mine is a T-mobile. It upgraded my binaries to v5 and the only stocks for my phone are v4. Since I can't roll back binaries I suppose I will just wait and see if there is a v5 firmware released for my phone. Thank you again for the help and knowledge.
