Hello, forgive the noob question I'm just having a little trouble clarifying information.
I have Verizon (US) as my carrier. Is there any version of the S9+ I can buy that will allow me to root/install an AOSP ROM (such as lineageos)? If so, where can I buy it and which guide can I follow for flashing? I'm not a complete noob as I've flashed many of my phones over the years, but it seems with each new generation of smartphones it gets more and more complicated, especially on Verizon. Thanks in advance for the help

Hey all,
I have a few questions that I'm sure have probably been asked around here, but i couldn't find them. I have been on xda for a good while now, mostly as an spectator.. In that time i've gotten to know my way around rooting, unlocking, flashing roms, modding, etc. my previous phone (samsung vibrant). So here are my questions:
- I bought my htc one m8 off of ebay, it's a 32GB at&t unlocked version. I know that hardware-wise at&t's m8 is the same as the unlocked international version (correct me if im wrong). Since the phone is carrier unlocked, does that make it the same as a factory unlocked m8 for all intents and purposes?
-Say i wanted to revert back to stock, can i just flash an image of a stock factory unlocked version without expecting problems?
-Right now I'm in the US, but i plan on going abroad for school.. how would i go about updating software for my phone? would i have to wait for at&t updates or could i just go with htc updates for the factory unlocked version (so far i like sense, so i doubt i'll be flashing vanilla roms)
These are the questions i have right now, but please feel free to add any other information you think might be of interest. I felt at home back at samsung vibrant forums, i hope i can do the same here. Thanks in advance :good:
Have you discovered the AT&T subforum yet?
I'd wager most of your questions have been discussed there.

Thanks man. Yeah, i knew about that sub-forum. I just figured some people in here might have my same questions.. since it's sometimes cheaper to buy an at&t and unlock it. And since this sub-forum is more populated..
If there is someone in here that has answers to my questions, i would be forever grateful.
Hey all, 6P user here wanting to make the switch, but I thought I'd ask a few things from current owners here first. I'm in the States on Verizon, interested in purchasing the Exynos model for root, better performance, no bogged down features, etc. My questions:
1. To those of you using Verizon in the States with the Exynos variant, what is your coverage like? Is it still reliable, etc.
2. Down the road, does anyone have any insight as to the potential root/bootloader unlock for the SD 820 variant? Just in case later I decide to go the initially cheaper route and get one from Verizon (which I don't want to do)
Thanks in advance for any help!

Hello, I am new to rooting.
I have learned that my SM-G955U on 9.0 is a lost cause to unlock and root.
I'm due for a phone upgrade anyway, so I ask if anyone knows which Verizon phones are rootable, because I need my Call Recorder to work and I absolutely hate Bixby (amongst other things with this phone). I'm fine with another brand, but it must be Verizon/(Snapdragon I believe), since that's where I have coverage.
I'd appreciate any feedback and clarification. Thanks
It has been a while since I've spent time on XDA. I haven't flashed a phone since the HTC One M7. I had to switch carriers from T-mobile to AT&T not long after I had purchased the S20+ for T-mobile. Most of the features work on AT&T, but I'm lacking the VoLTE, Wifi Calling, and Visual Voicemail that I would really like to get working. Can someone recommend an up to date guide that can safely guide me through the process, I'm sure its not that complicated, but I have been away from the scene for a while and I really don't want to end up with a bricked device or accidentally pop an e-fuse (if thats still a thing).
I appreciate any help, advice, or direction that anyone can provide.
