It shouldn't be an issue
But I personally always do a format data and the steps as i provided in OP. Even though it's not necessary just to avoid any issues.

Pardon my nitpicking, but where's the source? Neither of the supplied source links contain sources specific to chiron or even Xiaomi msm8998. Thought it's compulsory to at least make available the kernel part.
That aside, thanks for making another choice available. Forwarded this to local users.

Thanks for noticing Andy. Bauuuuu is building the rom and i've just made the ROM available on XDA, we are still in testing phase.
I've asked him the links for the sources so I can add them to the OP.

Im on ABC ROM now, gonna make twrp backup and try this one. Fingers crossed!

Yeah you are not the only with animation issues, so it's definitely not an issue with your device.
I've reported this to bauuu (dotOS dev)
Please note that we are still in testing phase so issues like these might occur.

Can I add the app to stretch the entire screen similar omni？

Unfortunately Bauuu stopped developing for DotOS so we will not see any updates to this ROM

Look in settings under "Root Management".
It is there. First thought the same.

I had no issues flashing it, I did it during installation and it's working great with all the modules I use.
ROM is really good, I didn't find anything not working, also battery is pretty good, just photos upside down with gcam using the front camera, bit everybody knows how to fix it...
Overall I think it's better than Lineage, it's pretty good indeed, good job!

This rom good for gaming like Lineage 2 revolution?

But battery life really is awesome for me!
Didn't have mobile data on yet, but other than that I really believe the best one on any Oreo ROM for me so far!

Every time that I tray to register my Phone number... with Samsung Health Together°
They send me a TxT code or a Call ...
When I tray to put the CODE .... Have a ERROR....

Can this be used as a daily driver? Are there any prominent bugs?

Awesome rom
ROM is really good and really really smooth. I liked the styling and the design very much. Just a few more things would really awesome
1. It would be really good if we had the options to edit the functions of the hardware buttons on long press or double tap.
2. Multiple grid sizes for the pattern lock.
3. Option to change the colour of LED while charging.
Except that I didn't find any major bugs and overall the battery backup and performance is really good. Thanks Dev! :victory:

This ROM is almost flawless
-Smoothest Oreo ROM available for the device
-Video camera works with pixelmaster and snap
-Tez works
-Doesn't lag at all
-Reboot and advanced reboot stopped working. Wiped dalvik cache and it fixed the issue
-Battery backup is the best on Oreo so far.
-Slightly disappointed due to no hardware button customization option at all
-There is no option to disable QS panel at lock screen
-Weather doesn't display on lock screen
-No option to disable tint as tint is the reason for all the lagging every oreo ROM has for this device
It would be perfect if hardware customization can be added and above issues fixed. Currently using as daily driver and no issues faced so far apart from them

Best rom i used...android p statusbar look soo cool...i wish volume pannel can be added in this rom ...maybe not possible

Bro it is best ROM till I used on my Asus zenfone selfie I changed some files and installed OK my zoot variant it is running flawless battery also great working perfectly thanks bro for this rom

Everything is working fine but having battery issues I am using dot os on my Asus Zenfone selfie zoot variant

Yep bro smooth and working flawless

I got around 3 hours of SOT initially and I thought that all OREO roms consume lot of battery. But today got a new battery and now I am getting around 6 hours SOT in this ROM now. Smoothest ROM till date. Everything works perfectly fine.

The nitrogen ROM developer gave two files and tell me to extract the zip file then replace the files which he given the again pack the zip file and flash on zoot like that I flashed it on my zoot and it's working without any issues best ROM in Oreo so far

most stable rom, no bug, tested all roms RR, Crdroid, Havoc, bootlegger etc (ghost touch, random reboot, not waking issue in all roms)

Can you just check and tell if it passes magisk cts profile as true.
If not, then does it pass that with any workaround ?

So, time for opinion from J730F:
- Still laggy, but littlebit less - everything goes in the right direction (if talking about UI).
- So much slow - it's looks like the rom can't make standard things (maybe low CPU lock).
- Long booting (first, littlebit longer than normal first boot and every next booting - longer than normal).
- Using "screen mirror" still makes a reboot.
- Lock screen working better, but laggy in the end of animations.
- AOD still doesn't work with fingerprint unlocking.
- First configuration with Google Configurator is really impossible, because our rom laggy.
- After first booting, system works very slow. But after reboot, is better.
