For me it works on stock rom. If you use a custom rom or unlock your bootloader, you can force it via magisk module.

Doesn't work on at&t, cricket or straight talk for me. Wish it did, even tried custom ROMs and the option just isn't there for me.

[Q] The million dollar question: can I convert a T-Mobile S4 to Google Play edition

Hi,
I am planning to but the T Mobile S4 and load the Nexus experience (Google Play edition) ROM on it (or for that matter maybe even CM or Slim later)
Can I easily convert back and forth between the Samsung ROM and GPe/CM/Slim ROM , if I buy a T Mobile S4 ?
I am not buying one from Play store cause it's only in white.
Thanks

If and when a DEV ports it over to the TMO device it would be as simple as swapping between your backups from your favorite recovery.
I would say this is a $650 question at best, possibly a $580 question.

That's the point of having a google edition ROM. The custom ones always have some quirks or bugs. For example, a ROM in which WiFi doesn't work is totally useless for me.
Thanks for the pointer though.
Edit: Sorry about that, I thought this was a link to some other custom ROM.
Confirmed working on T-Mobile variant. Flashing rom is all thats needed (working kernel is included). Wifi is working
Google Edition Rom

I know it'll take some time to test, but please do post if you find something off. I guess most probably, issues could be there with the modem (HSPA+ , LTE, etc)

Hello.
I have used this Xperia Keyboard (http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/themes-apps/xperia-i1-honami-keyboard-port-t2393151) in my Moto G Single Sim (XT1032) with stock Motorola and GPE roms and works perfectly. Maybe it could work in your Moto G Dual Sim ...
I found launcher and other things like widgets, wallpapers and sounds here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ahmed.funapp.xperiazultra
Install it and download things from there.
Sent from my XT1032 using xda app-developers app
I tried the two, thanks worked great!!!!
Now someone know any messaging app from xperia thats work on Moto G KK?

hey everyone, new to the lg g3 as of yesterday. updated to android 5.0.1 right away. i was excited about this since my xperia z2 doesnt have lollipop yet and wanted to setup profiles one for work and my everyday life. so it installs and come to find out i cant find anywhere to setup a work profile and well guest mode doesnt cut it.
anyone know if it can be done (without rooting) and if not do you know if bell will add it in a future update?

Might be a CM thing because I'm pretty sure I had the option to do profiles while I was on cm12, but since moving to a stock rom I haven't had the profiles

Verizon vs International Sections

I am starting to do my research since i'm looking for a newer budget phone.. This Moto Z Play seems to be a great phone for my needs / wants.
I am getting confused because I know there is a Droid (verizon) version and an International version. Specifically when it relates to ROOT.
Does anyone know if XDA will split this forum into a Verizon and International Version? (I see this on most other phones / variants)
Thank you.
There is no reason for xda to split the international vs the droid version. The droid version will never get an official bootloader unlock and likely will not get an unofficial bootloader unlock. The only way to root the droid version is to use the dirty cow exploit which works on both versions. In the unlikely event that the droid version gets a bootloader unlock and rom support, roms may support both devices due to the hardware being the same aside from the radios. Even if they didnt it would be easy to tell which is which because devs would put [XT1635-01] for the droid version and [XT1635-02] for the international.

I have not tried it, but it is supposed to work with every android phone that has not recieved an ota for a couple weeks (even then it might still work). I dont have a link to anything and i dont know if xda would allow me to post or pm a link either, so you will have to use google. There is a github with a proof of concept that may or may not work.

Thanks! I sent a PM to @beaups to see if he knew more about it.. said it most likely wouldn't work since the /system is protected.. but he said even if it did work, it may not even be fully functioning root.. so i'm not getting my hopes up...
so right now i'm trying to prepare myself for the idea if i could live without root. lol :silly:

Life is much easier these days without root then it used to be in the froyo and gingerbread days, maybe even up through jelly bean.

perhaps.. I just get picky using my physical buttons all of the time. So I enjoyed either custom ROMs that had power menu button, screen shot, and sleep all baked in. Or use xposed to get those features using gravity box.
but I saw the moto z play lets you wake and sleep with fingerprint.. so thats a majority of what I like root for.. but want to get rid of bloatware.. make custom sounds.. etc...

If you use a 3rd party file explorer you can use your own sounds, it should give you an option when you try to change your notification or ringtone. You should be able to also add custom ringtones and notification sounds to the Ringtones and Notifications folders in /storage/emulated/0/ and it should show up in the regular menu. You can kinda get rid of bloatware by disabling it in app info, some apps wont let you disable them though (like google play services). I'm still on stock and have disabled all google services (except google play services which i denied all permissions to) and put on a 3rd party launcher.

Question Google Framework and Playstore Honor Magic 4 Ultimate

Hi everyone,
trying to use a chinese version of the phone for my own.
There are many aps working fine but some dont.
Anyone can help to install the playstore and framwork or alternatives ?
The battery is nice, 512GB and a awsome camera.
Thx
Get GSPACE from AppGallery.
I am planning to buy Honor 4 Ultimate here in the USA. Can anyone please confirm if there is any possibility to get VoLTE on any carrier? Both at&t and T-Mobile not supporting VoLTE for Honor Chinese version. I have heard Google FI supports VoLTE if anyone can please confirm before I buy.
