G'day,
I bought a Huawei Honor 7X from JKteam on Aliexpress but it's not receiving any updates.
I was able to update to version B102 through firmware finder but can't update to Oreo through there because the download keeps failing.
I've downloaded the firmware from Team MT and put the files on an SD card as per instructions but the update fails after 5%.
I am not able to unlock bootloader as I can't get a code through the Huawei website either, I've contacted Huawei support but they're useless.
I have also opened a dispute with the Aliexpress seller as this is not acceptable.
Does anyone have any other suggestions to get the latest updates?
Thanks.

bootloader unlock code different from frp unlock code.
installing other device firmware has chance to replace oeminfo.img partition. Changing this partitin often causes locked frp.
If lucky you can wipe from the erecovery that is loading. maybe even couple times. Then maybe it will boot. Other that that there has been no public mention of any fix.
do your best to fix it using hisuite or other methods if you can. if you have twrp that can help if you have stock recovery and locked frp your only hope might be hisuite and if that fails you will need a paid option like dc-phoenix or funkyhuewei. i only have experience with dc-phoenix, and it did fix my locked frp completely bricked phone, but i read that funky also works well but is nearly 3 times as expensive. (15€ vs 50€)

The displayed build number comes from the data part of the update. (Update_*hw_*.zip)
If you reflash again all three files , might be fixed

If flashing again is the answer to solve problem. Use my guide here.
You are on Oreo now so use the top portion. "Flash update"

I don't want to sound like rude or anything.
But I put it all pretty simple, I thought. Like 4 steps
Download files
Put files on SD card
Install twrp
Install file I shared
If that is over your head, maybe you should not have modify and phone.

Hello,
I have a Honor 7X BND-L21 bought from Aliexpress.
The phone's firmware was updated from AL10 by the seller before shipping.
I'm basically trying to get a bootlocker unlock code from the Huawei website but the site doesn't give anything after filling in my details.
I was wondering if it's possible to revert back to AL10 without unlocking the bootloader? I want to check if I can get an unlock code after reverting back to AL10 as it's the original firmware.
I've tried firmware finder and it shows there are new updates available but every time I try to install the latest update it fails for some reason.
Looks like I'm not getting OTA updates since I'm still on a security patch from October 2017.
Thanks!

Here they are.

how can stop my honor 7x bnd-l21 from continuing to go into huawei erecovery? also in fastboot my phone is locked and frp is unlock
Both of you guys above to fix your phones the way I know of it's going to cost 15 euros I have done it And it works with locked boot loader or locked frp in fastboot mode you can revive your device flashing the update.app from a stock ota the tool you need is called dc-pheonix and you can find it on dc-unlocker.com just Google that if you want to fix your phone the total cost is less than 20$ and you get the tool for 72 hours as of now it's the only way hope it helps you

You should just be able to flash the manual update like everyone else just download the ota to the device region or model you want to change to here is the thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-7x/how-to/manual-update-to-oreo-beta-emui-8-bnd-t3767044

Thankyou for help but those files are actually for BND-L31A185
I have BND-L31C185
and in that list there's another firmware with build no. BND-L31C185B302D001 but the phone I have is D002 variant so it is not gonna install through local update in my phone..
I need a procedure to convert from BND-L31 to any other variant that has OREO update.

Don't follow these steps, I'm just making rough outline, not guide steps.
In order to change or convert from L31 to other model, you will need to unlock bootloader, and install twrp, then flash other model oem-info.img (believe it needs to be edited or you you might loose imei).
Then after oeminfo is flashed, flash other device firmware.
When you have done all that, you could have done safer steps, and instead of flashing other device oeminfo, after unlocked, and twrp. Flash FullOTA I linked with hwota.
Question for those of you on L29 model w/ C636 region.
I purchased a bootloader unlocked EVR-L29 from a forum member here but don't want to bother him with more questions.
QUESTIONS:
-I am on version 9.0.0.7 I have tried manually updating within the phone itself but it says I am on latest version.
I downloaded latest HiSuite program on laptop and connected the phone to it using usb debug in dev mode. Still says on latest version. I have attempted to go into erecovery & force searching for an update. Which sorta worked but it just downloads the current version I am already on.
So I am guessing I am having these issues because it is bootloader unlocked?
I am guessing you bootloader unlocked guys have an alternate method of forcing an update?
If there is an alternate method I can use I am guessing it is best to incrementally update instead of pushing the latest build?
-Once fully updated to the latest build will the old root method still work on EMUI 9.1? Where we flash a recovery ramdisk as shown HERE?
If the answer is yes do you all flash a stock recovery ramdisk for L29 or a patched recovery ramdisk? What is the difference?
I unlocked the bootloader on my L29 and was on 9.0.0.208 and couldn't get the 9.1.0.300 OTA update until I used e-recovery to download and install 9.0.0.207. Once I did that the phone immediately received the 9.1.0.300 OTA update and then patch #1. I haven't rooted yet so I don't know if root survives the update. It might because the update didn't wipe anything.

Yup erecovery just keeps downloading and installing 9.0.0.207 and when the phone reboots I get no OTA. Odd. I'll try putting the sim card in to see if that helps since I'm using wifi
Update for any people in the future that have this problem.

I bought the phone already unlocked from a forum member that unlocked it back when the unlock codes were available.
Hi,
I, by mistake, installed a Chinese Firmware into my m2-a01w and now I can’t revert to a global or European version anymore.
All Google services are now unavailable.
EMUI update fails with a version mismatch error. EMUI Version is 3.1.
Unfortunately my bootloader is locked so I can’t install TWRP.
I have obtained an unlock code for the bootloader but I can’t unlock it as FRP is also locked and the enable OEM unlock option is no more available in the developer options.
Any advise will be much appreciated.
Well, I invested 19€ and obtained a 3 day license for DC Phoenix und HCU and was able to unlock my device and install a German firmware aswell as TWRP.
So all is good now.

Can you send me your german firmware? I have the same issue. I'll do a custom rom, but I'm unable to unlock the bootloader due OEM unlock option
I already sent you a link to a suitable firmware for your device on the other thread.
I also have no possibility to upload 1,9 Gigs onto the internet.
If all fails, the only way to get your device unlocked is to invest 19€ and to obtain a three day license for DC Phoenix and HCU.
That was the only way to unlock my device.

I've tried DC Unlocker with FRP unlock - obviously without success - DC won't send me again credits. Maybe I have to pay again for this ****...
M2 10 Open Sourcecode (M2 A01L)
Hi guys, Since today Huawei delivers the open sourcecode for the drivers, I guess. Anyone in here capable to create a nice clean AOSP ROM or anything else good for our tablet? Search link for LTE version...

Last reply.
Once more, if you are unable to unlock FRP in the developer options, the only way I know of unlocking it is with HCU.
The unlock code alone will not help you in this case.
You will need 19 credits.
