Hi guys,
I need your help: I get a Galaxy S9 with active CSC set in SMP (it is an unknown version because it's a sample).
I flashed a multi CSC firmware SM-G960F because I need an ITV (Italy) CSC on it (I want OTA and also Samsung Pay Service).
I don't know why, but when I flash the CSC it set automatically on Germany/DE Status with no chance to change it. The Active CSC remains SMP and CSC Status sets into Germany/DE.
I'm sure I've downloaded from Updato the ITV version of the firmware.
In the past years it was very simple because it need only the correct firmware of your country region to solve the problem. But now with this damn Multi CSC it is impossible!
I tried many ways and guides found here but no one solved the problem.
I wanna change it without rooting the device.
Any suggestions?
Thank you so much in advance

Apparently it's impossible to get around it because of this multi CSC no matter what firmware you flash it will not get rid of the carrier firmware on the phone.
qualcomm 9650ds, flashed a multi csc firmware, a window popped up:
SIM card change Restart your phone to configure the functions compatible with your new SIM card. This will reset the phone to its default settings and delete all data, including files and downloaded applications. NOW NO RESTAB. AND RESTART
After restarting, the correct csc has been read. (probably has something to do with the Sim card)
PS: if chosed now no, the 4g signal bar showed LTE; if yes, the bar showed 4g

For the SM-G9650DS, would you mind sharing which multi-csc firmware did you use exactly? which CSC are you on?
Hi, this is my first post. And im new on this teme of the Multi CSC roms.
I have a question, I get a ROM from SamMobile of my carrier Telcel in Mexico (TCE). I understand that the rom is multi csc, but when I flashed it all the bloatware (that in this case i need, VoLTE is only in my carrier) is from Claro (CHL), and I need it from Telcel. I sent a mail to SamMobile explaining this but they only answered me that the room its ok, the rom is multi CSC.
The CSC version that the system shows me is CHL/CHL/TCE, and I need TCE/TCE/TCE.
Anyone knows what I should do?
From my experience changing firmwares to enable volte, to fully restore csc it's flashing the firmware TCE, download from samfirm app on computer then factory reset from the firmware you have, flash TCE firmware with Odin and this it's the trick you need to have another carrier sim(no telcel) before flash the firmware TCE, wait for boot(don't put an account) when you are on the home screen turn off then enter recovery and factory reset and reboot, here when you swap the Sims, put the telcel sim on it and wait to fully boot and when you see the welcome screen you see a message that say the sim card it's different and need to reset, accept and wait for boot go to settings and check csc and now would be TCE\TCE\TCE

Do you really managed to change CSC from one operator (either one) to multi CSC ? And if you do so, can you make a guide for us?

In my quest for fully change the csc without flash twrp and root to lose Knox warranty I ended with some smart guy that say the first two can be changed with flashing firmwares and the last one can only changed with root for that reason if you flash a different firmware region the two changed with the default csc on the multi csc and the last one stay same for example in this case MXO/MXO/TCE and the only way to return all the same it's using other carrier sim card temp until you flash the original firmware and then factory reset and when reboots swap sims putting the original carrier sim card in this particular case telcel

Thank you for your answer! But, let me see if I understood.
1- Put a sim from another carrier.
2- Factory Reset.
3- Flash the phone.
4- Turn on, and configure it.
5- Factory reset (again?)
6- Then put the Telcel SIM, before it starts completely
7- And finaly, in the "Welcome" screen, when the phone shows the message of the sim changed, perform another factory reset.
Let me know if I am right,
Right now I don't have another sim, i think that its rare that someone has another carrier But when I have it ill tell you what happenned

Yes basically that's the steps but in the step 5 it's important that you factory reset from recovery

Depends what do you want to do.
In this particular case try to get original CSC TCE/TCE/TCE
He has CH/CH/TCE
If you wanna recover original CSC you need to have another carrier sim on step 1 and when you flash the original firmware go to recovery amd factory reset from there and when you put reboot in the process of boot you swap sims, put the original carrier, firmware sim

Do you know if the phone must be unlocked? I tried to do it but when I put the other sim, asks me for the carrier unlock code. The phone doesn't show me the message of the sim changed.
I've been some research and I found that Claro is Telcel in the rest of America Latina. Maybe its the reason that shows me Claro.
I tried the CSC secret code *#272*IMEI# and nothing happens, how i know if a ROM would let me do this?

For that only flashing another firmware if you are from Mexico could you install MXO firmware it's the generic Mexican clean version and that you get MXO/MXO/TCE
The last one remains TCE this only can be change with root.

Actually I have the MXO/MXO/TCE, i've tried with the TCE rom, but still showing Claro. And these two roms doesn't allow the csc secret code. Don't you know what rom allows the csc secret code? I don't wanna try multiple roms from sammobile the download speeds are frustrating.

Try download from samfirm it's more fastest download the full firmware it's pc exe.
Do you try the step mention above? With other sim factory reset from recovery and swap sims, when phone boots tells you the sim change and need to reset and then you get TCE/TCE/TCE

Wow thank you! Im downloading it right now at 2.2 mb/s, compared with 100 kb/s of sammobile.
I tried anything and nothing works, I think that the unique solution is try with another OWA roms, I don't know if Telcel and Claro SIM's have similar identifiers and thats why returns me to Claro. Don't you know if there are roms with the csc menu activated?

Nope, do you think that the carrier lock relates with the problem?
Which sim carrier did you try?
Could I have problems if I try ATT or Movistar roms?

My phone was originally from att but I unlocked it and now use it on telcel and I want to use VoLTE with telcel. I would like to try the att or movistar firmwares but the problem is that (for what I've read) since the last att update was from like March the bootloader is older (v1) compared to telcel or MXO (v2) so you can't downgrade.
What carrier are you using? And what do you want it to be?

As far I know to get VoLTE on telcel you need to buy phone directly with them, because uses the imei to enable that function

Yes, I thought so too, but the thing is I went to Telcel and asked and the told me that my phone SHOULD have VoLTE but I think that may be associated with my phone number, (since I've had that number for a long time), and not with the IMEI

I know, and I did, and still shows KTC bloat including logo. I saw other people posting about the problem in other samsung device forums but didn't find an explanation. I wish there was a unified forum for these general samsung issues, so that they'll get the largest amount of attention possible.

lel, I've been trying to flash an international firmware for 6 months now without success, it's always some damn PIT error, tried everything Patched Odin, with PIT file, without PIT file, with NAND erase, without NAND erase, EVERYTHING, and none of it works, and no one on the internet confirmed that flashing an international G960F firmware on a Korean G960N device actually succeeds. just check my post history to see all the posts I made about the issue.

Either the firmware being flashed is mislabeled, or it's not truly flashing. I've seen where Odin says it was successful, but not really... That could be a whole different set of reasons why it's not working though.
My suggestion is re-download the firmware, from a trusted source and try again.

often times the phone is being told what carrier youre on by the sim card, then if the phone has that carriers CSC in its internal database (in the case of multi-CSC firmware sets) the phone will recognize the carrier and then install the carrier specific crap. I use the U1 firmware and dont have any of the carrier junk that it originally came with. I got it on a Cricket offer and very quickly got rid of all the Cricket junk by flashing the U1 firmware
I successfully changed CSC to KOO on my G960N after it was SKT to do that i had to
- root the device
- install phone info app
- use the tool to change csc
You will have a choice of 4 CSCs choose KOO and install
PS : backup data as it will be erased

i succefully uninstalled the blootware after rooting and using root uninstaller pro , then about the bootanimation i couldn't find any way to change (even by changing files into system/media/ ) , so i just left it

Do a backup with twrp when you change csc it will erase data and you will loose magisk all you have to do is go back to recovery and restore the backup ( backup only data )
Twrpcan always be installed with odin with or without magisk

Hello everyone. So I have a S20 Ultra SM-G988N. Its a Korean variant with a Snapdragon Chipset. It has the option OEM unlock and all so the device is rooted. I also was able to change my CSC without doing a data wipe...
What I did was go into the root of the phone into /ets/imei/mps_code.dat. I opened that file with text editor. For me it came up empty so I added the text "KOO" with a different text editor because the one provided by my Root Explorer wasn't letting me edit it. Once I added that in I restarted my phone. My phone started up, had the regular Samsung Logo. But if course some of the blostware is there.
My big issue is the phone connects to Korean things as in some apps will say my Region is Korean. For example my Weather widget (Samsung App) would only let me pick location by state, or country. I can't choose the town I live in nor does the app knows my correct location. It would say I'm in Bethpage Korea.
So my question is because the SM-G988N has a Snapdragon Chipset, would I be able to Flash an U1 Variant Home CSC Using Odin? This way I have multiple CSCs which I can then use to debloat and get the phone to be like US Version.

Hello,
I just bought a galaxy note 10+ N975F, but the bootloader is that of starwars on and off, and I don't like it at all. Is it possible to simply remove it permanently? (via Odin or other solution)
I have already tried several times to flash the last official XEF update (France) on it, but nothing can be done, it still remains.
Thanks for your help

Probably you need to unlock bootloader in order to change it (a file inside the BL partition must be edited) unless a firmware for other region comes with a different boot-splash if someone else can confirm that.
Thank you. Normally the XEF ROM stock does not have a starwars boot loader. I am currently stuck on the NEE firmware, even by flashing the XEF 5 times in a row it remains on: NEE/NEE/NEE/NEE. So if I understood correctly if I root my phone and try to flash the XEF again, will it be good? Thanks

Well, in case you are sure that flashing other different firmware it will solve the issue, you don't need to root it or unlock it, official firmware can be flashed normally, you have to choose from inside the CSC different from the CSC_HOME, this will wipe some preferences and will be a fresh start.
It could be also that the XEF firmware contains the same boot splash animation, probably I can check it if you can upload in some place the file param.bin.lz4 that is inside the BL partition file that you'll find from inside your firmware.
Just thinking, is not from the carrier?
Hey all,
- I have a Galaxy A52s 5G (SM-A528B) on which I want to switch the CSC from NEE to XEO.
- Bootloader locked, Knox not tripped, SIM not locked, never rooted - it's brand new, basically.
- It's currently on Android 11, A528BXXS1AUL3, CSC NEE (Nordic Countries, unbranded, multi-CSC)
- *#272*IMEI# does not work, neither does *#*#27262826#*#* in Google Phone and other codes people suggested.
- I want to switch it to CSC XEO (Poland, unbranded, multi-CSC) with Android 12 (downloaded A528BXXU1BUL7 with Frija)
- CSC file name in the firmware package is: CSC_OXM_A528BOXM1BUL7_SCL23159600_VCL23158112_MCL23356846_SQB47563957_VQB47558030_MQB47563919_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
- Can I just flash the downloaded firmware with Odin to set the CSC to XEO, or do I have to use SamKey or Chimera to do so?

If you are sure that you typed correctly the first IMEI number, at least the code worked to can see the list of available CSCs to know if that CSC you are referring is compatible with your device? Knowing that, you can safely switch to that CSC.
Sometimes the list of CSC available can be displayed in the stock recovery screen, or might be that your device can accept multi-CSC.
Also, you can extract the CSC file from your desired firmware, then compress it in tar format and flash it in the CSC slot (this will format your device).
I didn't try this myself in case you can take a look on this, for me worked the code method on other Samsung device https://samsungfirmware.net/change-csc-samsung-galaxy-phones/
I would personally just flash a complete firmware package with the desired CSC downloaded from Frija. I don't really like to have my system on one CSC code whilst the CSC itself has another code.
Have a thorough look online though before trying anything.

The dialer does not react to these codes at all - I'm sure the IMEI was correct (both copy-pasted and typed it manually to be sure). The current CSC is OXM NEE, so appears to be multi-CSC.

Yes, the OXM has multi-CSC support, you can flash onto the CSC slot the CSC file from your convenient firmware, anyway, you can also flash the entire firmware, if Odin allows it or use a modded Odin in case that it doesn't.
I did install XID (Indonesia) FW a few days ago to get a working call recorder and it worked.
Now my problem is I can't go back to my original CSC. I can download and flash the XTC version but the phone automatically detects and activates XXV which is the Vietnam version.
Now, I still have call recording but there are features that I'm missing like RCS and Caller ID.
i just tried to flash a BTU rom on a Galaxy A52s running the Romanian ROM/EUX rom.
i done this through ODIN and it changed nothing on my phone after the flash. the phone is still showing ROM in the Service provider software version.
how can i change this phone over to BTU? samsung pay doesn't work on ROM version.

Just to clarify, you can't flash a different ROM to bypass a carrier contract, when the contract is still running.
If this is not the case, to switch completely to a different firmware, you'd need to flash the CSC different from the CSC_HOME, within the other files, through Odin, and after that, reboot to stock recovery and do a complete wipe/factory/format.
Some Samsung models allow using hidden/MMI codes to switch to a different CSC (in case you just need only provisioning for a specific area)

First, I recommend investigating which CSCs are allowed (or compatible) with your specific model, sometimes this info is displayed in the recovery screen.
After that you simply have to flash the desired compatible ROM keeping these two steps mentioned; in the CSC box apply the CSC different from the CSC_HOME and then, in recovery stock, wipe everything.
The CSC different from CSC_HOME wipes the APNs and preferences related to code areas, while the other set the news to be used.
It's easy like that, sometimes you should need a patched Odin to apply without issues.

What do you mean by
"in the CSC box apply the CSC different from the CSC_HOME"
i have to CSC files;
CSC_OXM_A528BOXM1CVC6_MCL23884853_MQB50405254_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
and
HOME_CSC_OXM_A528BOXM1CVC6_MCL23884853_MQB50405254_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
i have used the first file (without HOME in the name). do i need to reset in recovery after flashing this?
also, i didnt find any compatible CSC in the recovery screen, where are they meant to show?

Yes, this is the file you may use. Wiping is recommendable.

Samsung Phone app was good for that, actually is a paid app, probably there’s one app available now that does similar things.
There are some "universal" (or almost) CSC, i.e. OXM, but basically, most of the time, you can switch to another for same region/continent. In some devices this info is displayed in download mode though.

Probably in some moment was a carrier branded, logo displaying to the boot, can show/reveal you something like that, or a clean Samsung logo could be most likely a "really" freed up/non-carrier branded.
Anyway, consider that, even flashing a non-compatible CSC (no matter if it is a complete firmware) won't work.
You have to find out, one that it is compatible, by the normal means.
Unlocking bootloader and rooting it, could give you extra chances, though.

I'm not looking to unlock bootloader and root it, want to avoid that.
I'll might try Samkey to change the csc to BTU

If the device has a logo from a carrier, this means that the device is or was attached to a carrier, so in case, it is still under contract, the device needs to be free up, but if not, then you can get rid of it, by flashing a different firmware.
Arobase40 said:
Whatever the carrier but do you know any carrier using an apple logo with an Android phone ??? ^^
If so it would get into trouble with Apple company... unless the apple word has a different meaning in the original post which I doubt...
That's why I was asking if it was a joke.

This is a different approach, I, intentionally avoided, to mention that part. Probably you can find an Apple logo in some obscure Chinese device or who knows, but OP refered to as a Samsung device, so my theory in this part, is that probably the device was rooted previously, IDK.
Just to clarify you are assuming a total different thing, I never thought that the device is under a carrier contract given the fact that it has an apple as logo (IDK if it has an Apple logo, that it is not the same) or not, and even, probably it's a misconception from the OP, and it is a bootanimation and not a bootlogo, and even more, if you pay attention, OP IS saying "can i remove apple and carrier logo from my samsung a52s?" that means that he/she is referring as two different things, OP is mentioning two things and not that the apple logo is the operator or vendor logo, and again, even more, OP is just saying to remove apple? (not Apple) and.....
