When volte is available in gsi...??
There is almost 0 chance of getting VoLTE in treble builds because they're supposed to be generic.
That's bad for the future of Android considering carriers are planning on dropping 2G network support
No volte on gsi=no treble in india
Then there is no future for GSI at least. Because Volte is an advanced IMS technology. Many service provider now starts giving Volte. Even latest all phone launched with dual 4g volte. If GSI can't adopt Volte from generic partition then that's very bad news.

The problem with that is, there isn't a "one-size-fits-all" solution when it comes to VoLTE. Some OEMs such as LG make their own IMS stack rather than using Qualcomm's. Which makes universally supporting it much more difficult
VOLTE is a technology almost used only on India phones company. So it's a not priority on my view. The priority is to make GSIs stable first

T-Mobile's bad 2/3g coverage in the United States causes missed calls because their LTE coverage is better than their 2/3g coverage. That is a huge downside to using custom ROMs on T-Mobile/MetroPCS without VoLTE support. I've spent a lot of time trying to enable VoLTE on my LG K20 Plus, Stylo 2 Plus, and Stylo 3 plus lineageOS builds but failed due to LG's custom IMS.
I don't know why i'm still laughing.. But that part totally depend on your Modem/Firmware..
Nowday's, Almost Every custom ROM support VoLTE.. It's Vendor's Responsibility to release proper Modem/firmware to support it..
If Your Device support VoLTE, It should work with Custom ROM GSI As well..
So, If VoLTE does't work, Provide Logcat to Dev's & let them take a look.. They need to Patch Kernel, Vendor & DT..
No Logcat = No VoLTE
If device have volte and it's perfectly working with Custom Rom(Treble) that doesn't mean it will work with GSI also.
Till now GSI doesn't support Volte. I think in future It will support that.:good:

Good to hear that GSI support VoLTE. Problem is that AOSP phh-treble rom dont have the functionality to turn VoLTE on.

Im tired of this reflashed the stock deodexed rom thats 100 times better without any bugs.
The stock ROM is near stockish Android what's the hurry?
If you have root access which the deodexed one does, then install substratum to get some extra looks...
Frankly speaking any custom/stock rom without volte support is useless in India. If Lenovo does not include the volte feature in p2 then probably nobody bought this phone in india. I love this phone and also bought it. But due to lack of Indian dev in xda for this device, there is no volte custom rom till now.

I have to say this. I'm also from india.
Because of reliance JIO everyone asking VOLTE. Most of us using it for data only. So we could survive with data alone.
Otherwise we can use app feature for calling right?
Don't hurry the dev for VOLTE. Let them make their custom rom more stable one then add this VOLTE support feature.
Without stable system features alone won't make it.

I just installed lineage 14.1 Nougat latest build in the hope of getting volte support as it has been pointed out in the post that volte is working but here volte is not working .No HD or volte sign in status bar or any volte switch in settings .Help please
1. Enable wifi calling
2. Re-enable volte (Enhanced LTE mode)
VoLTE sign does not appear in the Lineage OS.
As told by Impulsar do the above two steps and VoLTE should work

Hello All,
My sister has a oneplus 3 Us version running on Stable OOS version Oreo 8.0, recently she moved to India permanently and I ported her number to Jio as Vodafone doesn't have 4G in my place nor the device has Vodafone 3G band. So the US version has a band that works with Jio.
Model A3000
The problem is she can use data but calling doesn't work with normal dialer. So I contacted Jio and they told the US version doesn't support Volte hence the rep asked me to download Jio4gvoice App from playstore.. After using this app we can call but the data should always be on which is problematic as in some cases when there is no network while travelling she cannot call nor receive calls.
I checked the *#*#4636#*#* code and Volte provisioned is On. However the radio band is showing United States and cellular 800. I KNOW for sure that Jio supports Volte on all bands it operates B3, B5 and B40
THIS Model of Us version supports only B5 850 mhz. My question is has oneplus not released a software update to enable Volte or can I try flashing custom rom to check if Volte works on custom rom.
Any help will be appreciated.

The pronlem you will face is that VOLTE is not really used in the states so most devices dont support it. Let alone for a country where they released a different version.
As for the data always being on, well that is something you will have to deal with as that is just what VOLTE is. LTE is a data connection. Not really a non data cell connection.

4G is Volte. Your phone shows 4G.
For Jio to work whether for calls or data, data should always be on. This is because, unlike 3/2G, Jio uses data for voice calls also. So even if you have A3003 model, if you shut off data, calls will not work in Jio.
When there is no network, no phone can be used for calls. It is not clear what you are trying to convey.

I am using Indian oneplus 3T, I always have my data Off on Jio. And I can still call coz the phone has Volte enabled but on the US version only data works as OnePlus has not released a software update which includes Volte.
Once the US version of OnePlus 3, we cannot call via normal dialer we have to use Jio4gvoice app to make calls. What I am saying is I also tried and put my sister's sim card in my Indian version of OnePlus 3 T and even without mobile data being on I can still make calls but not on her US version.
I hope I am clear. So my question was can I flash custom roms as most oreo roms are Volte enabled on US version to give a try if that will work.

But unfortunately its volte is only working on Oxygen OS . no matter what custom roms I try I end up getting no volte:crying:. It always says IMS and other stuffs not registered or unavailable under phone info (that is by dialling *#*#4636#*#* ) in every custom rom :crying:. I have tried wiping my all partitions flashed custom rom after oxygen OS too many times but still no success. ?

I think the Volte configuration of Airtel is quite different from Jio.
I wud suggest you once to try clean flashing oxygen os and install custom rom by first flashing latest firmware for op3t, custom rom, gapps and check. I have seen people using Airtel Volte on custom roms.. Could you try Omni rom or Msm extended

Even though z2 plus supports VoLTE (Jio works fine), for some reason on Airtel and Vodafone 4g networks z2 plus is not supported for VoLTE.
Airtel and Vodafone however support VoLTE for many other phones like the Xiaomi mi5, redmi 4,5, one plus etc. In which case, is it not possible to figure out what it is that allows other phones to access VoLTE on these networks and then extract these necessary files/configurations from the ROM and install it in z2 plus stock or custom ROMs to enable support for VoLTE?
For me volte works fine.

You are using a custom ROM right? Which one?
Would it be possible to create a flashable mod maybe to enable VoLTE (for Airtel and Vodafone) on the Stock ZUI ROM?
The effort and hassle you may take to make your device ready for flashing process is 90% of total work before using a Custom ROM.
Compare to ZUI, any Custom ROM is thousand times better.
Why not trying the entire thing then?
And if I am not mistaking, ZUI 4.0.xxx (stock / official) supports other network VoLTE. Given you are in a location or accessing a tower which is VoLTE capable and keeping your AirTel/Vodafone SIM card in your SIM Slot 1.
I don't think VoLTE may work with SIM Slot 2.
Thanks.

Which ZUI version to be flashed and it should be official or custom and should be flashed via QPST or TWRP ?
See i just want to clarify that zuk z2 plus , supports volte on all networks. It depends on the sim type and the area you are located in.
See , i just tried that . my friends sim supports volte (Airtel) and when i put that sim in my phone(zuk) i could make calls over lte .
So try contacting airtel/network provider to get a sim swap.

I am using Z2 Plus with ZUI 2.5.104 ST and this version is unable to use VoLTE. I have put the same SIM card in a Redmi Note 4 and VoLTE works there. I have also contacted Airtel/Vodafone and their answer is simply update OS, no official support.
Since on Custom ROMs it seems to be working, I just want to know if it could be possible to make it work on the Stock one as well. If it is working on ZUI 3.5/3.7/4.0 versions like the deodexed one or RuMod then I could switch to it.
I like the bottom quick settings and U-touch too much, and it holds me back from changing to an AOSP ROM.

I could not check it for ZUI 2.5 and ZUI 3.5, but saw it working for ZUI 4.0.199 and AEX 6.0
Not Sure if the signal strength is good, but at least VoLTE is working.

Amit

i am on AEX 5.7
Baseband : 1.76 (as it came from indian zui final version)
So if i flash zui 3.5 then zui 4, does it change baseband ,if it does changes baseband any problem u face ?
And u mean after this process after zui 4 if flash AEX 5.7 it will support vodafone/Airtel volte ?

I've done this method on pie roms but I think it's the issue of baseband. there won't be any problem or performance changes in swapping baseband, zui 3.5 qfil to zui 4 ota worked for me ,but don't forget to enable volte in zui 3.5 before updating to zui 4.0 . I can't confirm bcz I don't have aex 5.7 with me.

I flashed zui 3.5 and turned on volte and then updated to the zui 4.0.x and volte was working and after this process every other custom ROMs are working with Airtel volte.

Hi Lakshmi, Can you check my post above. I have shared the steps which got me VoLTE in Stock as well as Custom ROM.
All recent ROMs support Airtel VoLTE. The problem isn't with our device but it's Airtels VoLTE implementation. Unlike Jio, Airtel only enables VoLTE if the imei of the device in which the Sim is inserted is one of the officially supported device. (List on their website)
What you can do is as follows:
1. Insert your Sim in one of the officially supported device like iPhone, one plus, etc.
2. Keep using the phone until VoLTE is enabled (it takes Airtel anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of hours to activate VoLTE on a new sim, even when inserted in a supported phone!)
3. Once VoLTE is enabled on your Sim, you can switch back to your z2 and it should start working.

Yeah, same with Vodafone too. I inserted my sim in redmi 4 and volte was not working and so i didn't knew this method of volte implementation so I reinserted my sim in z2 plus and told Vodafone on email that volte is not working for me(i didn't mentioned my device to them in the email). So they replied me that your device is lenovo z2132 which doesn't support volte officially.
Now I'll again insert my sim in redmi 4 to get volte working.
Thanks.
