A. Yes, proceed with the latest TWRP image

A. Test the build as much as you can and report bugs which can be reproduced with exact steps and are not random.
Q. How to disable "Apps running in background" dialog?
A. When you see the dialog, long press on it and select "Settings". From there, you'll have a toggle to disable it.
Q. Which Models are supported?
A. So far it works well on the H930(G), US998, VS996 and LS998. Other models may have broken RIL or bootloop. Im open for solutions regarding that.
Q. Why is my phone restarting during the Setup? Or early after it booted?
A. If you use a MicroSD in exfat, that can be the cause. The exfat drivers are for some reason really picky when it comes to that. Change to ext4 or NTFS or so.

Made from the same device tree and so on like los and the others :/
if i figure out why yours wont work, and i manage to fix it, all will work. But cant guarantee for anything now :/
Trying my best, have logs already, but stress in university + wanna fix other small bugs too (e.g vibration ****ing up after a while, maybe fmradio and so on)
Tbh, more devs for the other models would be nice ?

Clean install coming from us998 8.0 oreo rom - twrp 3.2.1 + pico gapps + magisk 16.4.
So far I am only able to flash "stock" h930 and us998 lg based roms. Not sure if that helps.

Currently h930ds not fully supported
I'm currently using a vs996 and there is a slight bug, not sure how or why it happens, but whenever I have vibration on touch for both nav bar and keyboard, (or vibration on press in general) after a while it transfers some of the vibration to the phones call speaker, and makes a static sound every key press. NOTE: the vibration strength is very week now as well. I'll try to get a logcat of it.

yes it's a well known bug of aosp and los based rom for v30.
it's seems to be related to lg vibrator implmentation. Dev still trying to fix it, but there's no trace in logs
:good: Running this on VS996, correctly converted, def a daily driver for me!! Bluetooth connects nice, however, I seem to be unable to change tracks, or play/pause controls from remote device?? Has anyone else experienced this?? I'm using Poweramp 709 build, and whiskeyomega's awesome mixer file!! Also using OmniSwitch for Oreo!!: cool:
Has anyone had any luck on this ROM and the US998 in utilizing wifi-tethering in a way that blocks usage from restrictive networks such as T-Mobile?
:silly: I've let this rom bake on device, no wipes or reboots!! It's magic!! Bluetooth responds perfectly!! Track forward, backward, play and pause, no issues!! Rom is top notch work!! Thank you SGC Markus!! :good:

I regret to inform you that I will no longer be able to bring new builds of AEX for LG G4.
This long period of inactivity is caused by changing LG G4 with another smartphone: first iPhone SE and then Redmi Note 5 Pro (whyred).
It was a lot of fun to bring AEX to this smartphone for the first time, learning a lot about building and Android in general. I can't wait to experimenting with new builds for Redmi Note 5 Pro ^_^

Not having an h811, I can not test it. Also I do not have a fast internet connection and uploading two builds in one would take me hours. I will see in the future if I can.

If you mean XDA, yes. It's the first ROM I build for my phone. I've got the G4 for a year and recently I wanted to try AEX. Thanks to DD3Boh, I succeeded in intent and wanted to share the work with you. Sorry if I wrote the message badly

its aosp based mate. any aosp rom has the same appearence until each user modify it the way he wants it.

AEX for h811 has arrived!
The build has already been uploaded (after hours) on AFH and can be downloaded on the thread, but it is not tested by me! That's because I have a h815, not h811. So I ask you with h811 to verify that the ROM works and that there are no bugs, skipping those in the thread. Remember to make a logcat!

mate , editing project doesn't give that option.
but hit edit below and go to advanced. there you can add attachments. Also you can use the
code for bigger attachments
open a photo you want , in a new tab, take the link and paste it in the tag.

This thread is for Z00T (ZenFone 2 Laser/Selfie), I doubt that dev will build it for your device. But if your device already has a maintainer for this ROM, you may ask him to bring up Oreo version of AEX

He posted a fix for WiFi for his build... Maybe same kind of problem? If it is... Would this fix? ...

It is already there.
Most of you might be thinking that why there is no new updates. Well as there is nothing new nor in AEX nor any bugs are fixed, so it is useless to do more builds. Now, I will be offline till December as my exams are going to start from next month. I will come online once on November to update ROM and will be offline again.

Everything works correctly. However, there is still a lot of AospEx functionality.
The only thing I had to do was edit the updater-script file and delete the phone version check.
Originally, the installer stopped on this line reporting an error.

testing aex 6.0...
came from v5.8 with full clean flash (internal storage as well)...
noticed things so far:
- less extension options (i.e. can't set a clock position in status bar, can't add action to navbar buttons, can't change the battery icon, etc...)
- can't turn off the low battery led blinking
- no themes as in 5.8...
- brightness slider almost doesn't change anything until around 75% and above...
- google camera app is crap (it saves pictures rotated and only in 1:1 aspect ratio no matter if i choose 4:3 or 16:9 ratio) - Bacon camera works ok... but i'd still prefer Snapdragon camera app if possible...
that's all for now and mainly cosmetic (didn't test calls and 4g yet) and i hope most of the things i've mentioned here are still in the development since this is an Alpha release

There are Ambient Display Gestures accessible within the Settings >> System menu, where you will find an additional "Gestures" menu at the bottom which enables Sweep to wake/Notification Pulse/etc.

Hello! I've seen MicroG listed as a feature, and then a link to GAPPS. I don't understand it. Please, could you be so kind to clarify this to me?
Also, this seems based in the work by @kessaras, @ThePiGuy, @steadfasterX and all the team, as you are using Titan kernel, and there is no mention to them in the OP.
Same thing goes for the two remaining bugs in the branch developed by the mentioned ones, the BT call bug and the flashlight tile....
Or maybe I'm wrong?

Thanks for mentioning it , but I'm there in GitHub anyway @ThePiGuy is trying to bring up a stock kernel so that people flash Titan separately if they want to have a highly modified kernel. Using now Titan is the only option since there is no other kernel that would work.

No it matters. NOT because we work hard to make things work and want some honey in our ears. No! it matters because that's the minimum one should do when using work from others and so showing proper credits is kind of Netiquette here and elsewhere.

Dude. I know the story. I didnt have time to put it in when I made the original post. I recognise the work done by you and @kessaras and @ThePiGuy. We all do this in our spare time, and I fully understand that I would not be able to build these ROMs if you guys hadnt busted your balls fixing the device trees for the G4..
I have added all the info in the second post. So, can we all smoke the peace pipe again?
By the way this ROM is awesome, got it installed on my Moto G4, def up there with RR and AICP as the best ROMs I've used although this probably edges it. Wasn't expecting to see it on LG G4 so bonus. Gonna have to try it out at some point (will have to look for dual boot for G4 or backup my current ROM and give it a try).

I'd tried this build(h815) and the system ui was pretty laggy, even with the 6 cores in performance mode ... (Just like I need five seconds to open the dialer app...)
Did clean flash and flashing only the ROM and the result it's the same.
Anyway, thank for your efforts and time.

Not tested specifically with AEX but I doubt it
The kernel used (Titan) is based off the kernel from the F500K as that device got official Nougat from LG. Unfortunately that device did not have an FM tuner and so we lost FM as a result

Did you try rebooting a couple of times?
Its weird that you would get that slowness just with a basic ROM install..
I have had reports of slowness when restoring from a Google Cloud backup (which I have reproduced myself) , but nothing like what you mentioned..
Try a couple of reboots and see if that helps..

I've tried everything and the result is the same... I don't know if its ROM related because I can use AICP, LOS without problems...

->Actually the updates we provide monthly are heavily changed and modified than the previous builds. New stuff is merged and added. So we don't provide incremental updates and recommend a clean flash.

Thanks and Congrats for Oreo, step by step we are close to stable Oreo, thanks to all the people involved in max's development,
And Otg is not important for me, any other big bug which can interfere with daily usage,
I just installed this, so far I am really liking it even while I am setting up and restoring all my stuff.
OTG is no issue for me, as I only use this Asus to play 1 game.
One issue I have is that Reboot or Reboot to Recovery, whether from the system or from an app, does not work on my phone and just shuts down.
Oh yes, works perfectly with Magisk, latest Canary release build.
If you can, please add bluelight filter too, and wallpaper for lock screen ...
i cant use mobile data in this rom... why???
but this rom is pretty stable compare to dot os 2.5...
but my only issue is that i can't use mobile data....

You need to add APN manually then you can use mobile data.

Download any app for that, you can find that on playstore.
It was giving other issues so i removed night light.

Workaround is just to use the buttons - i.e. longpress the power button to reboot, and the usual buttons for reboot to recovery.

P.S. I found the wallpaper for both Home Screen and Lock Screen, I don't know how I missed it earlier. If I remember the first time it just asked me to select a wallpaper and it automatically applied it to the Home Screen. This time, it asked me where I want to use it, Home or Lock Screen.
