Rrm state by pass? - Samsung Galaxy S9 Questions & Answers

Waiting for 7 days is so fking dumb.
Just moved from my note 8 to this and I instantly regretted it.
Any by pass? Can't find any only for s8

Heard someone yesterday saying flashing a combination ROM, enabling OEM unlock, then flashing stock again works, but not tested it myself

Flashing full Odin firmwares (4 separate parts) shouldn't be an issue but I've got no experience with combination, best guess is they are the same as the old S5 and prior firmwares that only used PDA/AP before it was split into 4 separate sections, but no clue why or how this would be any different to flashing normal firmwares in regards to OEM unlock
Edit - Seems it is something completely different:
Samsung Galaxy S9 Combination ROM file is a raw ROM for engineers and developers to run the device & can fully read and test the equipment of the device. It is also similar to the Service menu and shows the complete device information.

I'm guessing "Combination" means it contains all 4 parts, ROMs for Samsung devices used to always only be AP, only the last few devices that have used separate parts, S5 was single iirc

after flashed a N7100 Rom to my I317M, I got unknown baseband and IMEI

I got my galaxy note ii from Canada Rogers network just yesterday. In order to add more language option, I falshed a N7100 ROM to my I317M. After that I got no signal on the phone, and I check into the 'about device' option, I see unknown baseband, IMEI, network and so on. I had backup the efs file, but when I trying to flash back to my phone, just nothing happen.
I did research on that, find out that to flash a stock ROM maybe have a chance to fix the problem. however, I can not find a Rogers stock ROM anywhere, so I am writing to ask if someone can help me about to fix the phone. Thanks very much.
Consider yourself LUCKY you don't have a brick right now. There is a reason there are different threads on here for each of the galaxy note 2 variants. There was talk about being able to flash roms of one variant on to another but I don't think much lead way was made. My suggestion to you is, 1. find a stock i317M rom and flash it using pc odin and then stick only to the thread corresponding to the variant you have to flash custom roms!

If you hunt around in the different variants development forums, you'll see that it's possible to flash roms from one variant to another. The catch is, if the variants have different radios (LTE/HSPA vs just HSPA), you'll lose all cell functions, which is exactly what happened to the OP. That's probably not a trade-off most people are willing to make, but I'm hopeful this is an easy issue for devs to overcome.

Need help in Identifying my Galaxy S3's Model No.

Hi,
I just bought a Galaxy S3, the phone is brand new but I found out its rooted.
Now the thing is every aspect of the phone states as if it is S3 i9300 but when I installed CPU-z it showed the Ram as 1594 MB and the processor is MSM 8960. This means it is actually i747 but I don't know for sure, I am also not able to check for Software Updates as it states the software has been modified. I need to know it exact variant before I start tinkering with the phone.
Help Me!

They have taken the pains to change the sticker. But using Device Info I found that its has bootloader of I747MVLDLK4 still need some insights from veterans. What is the exact model of my device, and whether the Bootloader Unlock Guide, ROMs and Kernels in this thread are applicable to it.
Booting into recovery says SGH-i747M
Please someone help me, how to restore it as someplaces it has i9300 but actually it is i747M.
I'm on the same boat, bought a I9300 from Amazon and discovered that it's actually a SGH-I747M and can't update the ROM. Is there any way to put the standard 747M ROM in it?
What most likely happened is that they flashed a 9300 rom to the device or it could be a very good knock off clone which has been known to have fake hardware readings and device stickers. You could just flash any one of the canada based roms or ATT and that should bring you back to normal. I would find the Canada base stock firmware and flash that. Start from stock.
There's an exact thread here which discusses someone who bought the exact phone as you.
I believe he just flashed a canadian-compatible ROM. (Read the last post, and the thread in general)

Thanks zelendel. I genuinely feel that they have flashed 9300 ROM and its not a knock off. Still, would like to ask you whether the readings as such can be changed. Also, as it is i747M, are all i747 ROM's compatible with it and is there anything to take special note about.
So I finally installed TWRP 2.6.3.0 d2can recovery but when I was trying to backup it got stuck after completing the backup UPDATING THE PARTITIONS and it stayed there eventually I had to pull the battery.
Any insights?

Yes most all the i747 roms are compatable. Can these things be changed? I hate to say it but yes. There have been a few that have gotten some devices from China that all readings showed correctly but upon further investigation it was found to be a knock off and none of the specs were real. This comes from all the specs being defined in a simple to edit file for those that know where to look.

Using SamFirm to download SM-G930U-G930UUEU2APG9 USA 8/1 firmware update for SM-G930V

Users can still use SamFirm_V0.3.6 to download SM-G930U_G930UUEU2APG9 firmware to flash on our US Verizon S7's. The firmware contains the latest 8/1/16 security patch.

Wait I'm confused the firmware version says its for the G930U, but also saying its for VZW? Which is it lol, the G930U or G930V. I know you can flash the U firmware on the V model but I'm just asking to make sure.
There were two identical versions of the "U" firmware. Sorry for the confusion. You can use the program to download the "U" firmware to flash on on our Verizon S7's.

Sorry to make you elaborate it seems simple but I can't quite tell whats going on haha.
I need to download both and flash half from each? Or flash one first then the other?
You can download either one. The XAA and VZW firmware are identical. I just flashed the "VZW" one and it made no difference.

Oh lol, and it came with VZW bloat and worked with the Verizon specific features and all that?

Yeah thats the one I downloaded, but when I loaded it into Odin the CSC showed as OYM, and not VZW.
Oh well lol I'll keep this running I don't have it set up yet so I can't speak on battery life or performance (although I'm sure it will be similar to PF2) but as far as my signal goes there are no issues so I'll keep this installed. Thanks for the guide and for helping me out.
Edit: Oh, didn't know the U firmware let you straight up uninstall some of the Samsung crap, not just disable it. Also didn't realize that all the 3rd party bloat was Verizon's doing, not Samsungs I disable all that crap with Package Disabler Pro anyways, but still didn't realize how sh*tty Verizon is lol.
Sure thing, no problem. One problem... If you use visual voice-mail, it will be lost. I have not found a suitable working replacement either... I just long press the "1" in the dialer to check my voice-mail, lol. Old-school....

Try installing those two MS VC C++ packages, reboot and try again. I have them installed and did not experience that error. Works on my laptop and desktop.
I flashed the new U firmware and man my phone is back to normal. I want to root it but it was so sluggish with the root kernal even with the v15 fixes and all the tweaks I read here. Opening apps were taking 5 seconds, unlocking the phone was taking a few. It literally felt like I was running some crap $50 chinese phone lol. Also my battery was going down 10% every half and hour. Now with the fresh stock install no root no tweaks I've lost 3% in 1h and 33 minutes
What exactly are the benefits of doing this? Doesn't the U firmware have an unlocked boot loader, or something along those lines?

No unlocked bootloader, just 0 Verizon bloat to bog down the phone, so it tends to run much cleaner.

How to get rid of the "Your device is corrupt message"?

This looks like a pretty hard nut to crack. I don't know exactly what caused it. I was rooted for a few days and was just reflashing Magisk (messing about you could say) when it turned up. Previously, I just had the warning with yellow text which is what everyone gets after unlocking the bootloader. So here goes the overview, please bear with me:
===> I reset the phone by flashing OnePlus5TOxygen_43_OTA_006_all_1712062242_69a5125fb2eb4d87.ZIP (OxgengenOS 4.7.4). <===
Exact steps on how I did that:
1) I flashed the stock recovery image via fastboot ( I got it from Oneplus's website)
2) I booted into the stock recovery I flashed in step 1 and flashed the entire ZIP (the one with the long name above). Probably flashed the recovery twice but yeah.
But no dice. It will absolutely not go away. The zip does not contain any other IMG's apart from boot.img and recovery.img so I can't really flash other partitions like system via fastboot. I CAN flash system via my nandroid backup, and I did, but that still did not help.
Here is the error I got. It's from a google search but it resembles the error on the OPO5T very nicely. So can the experts chime in please?

Not used to posting my own answer but maybe this will help someone. You need a full reflash with the Qualcomm tools. OPO support can do this, or anyone with the flashing tool, the correct firmware image, and drivers (the latter being easy to find).
There are tutorials online to do this, the only thing missing is the correct firmware image.
To summarise the requirements:
1) Qualcomm drivers (easy to find)
2) Qualcomm Flash tool MsmDownloadTool V4.0.exe (fairly easy to find)
3) The correct *.ops firmware image (hard to find and you need the password)
Yeah we had been trying to crack the password with no success, hopefully someone will, thank u for the info

For OnePlus 5T "OxygenOS 4.7.2-171116.zip" it is exactly 10 characters. The driver RAR-password is a lot longer (>20). Don't even try to brutefoce that.
If we already have the opt file someone could just set up a keylogger on their machine and have op support do the remote flash and thus capture the password from them lol

Can't install any custom rom on A505W Canadian Variant. Unable to mount /vendor error.

Hello everyone. I currently have a A505W Canadian variant, bootloader unlocked and TWRP installed. I made the big mistake of updating to the last version of android 11 and, while I prefer android 10 for what I need the phone to do, I can't downgrade anymore. I'm trying to install, at that point, any custom rom there is. But I can't. I don't know if it's related, but every time I try to install a rom, with TWRP, I always get the error "Unable to mount '/vendor'" and the installation fail. Some rom get concidered successfully installed, by their custom installations process, but end in a boot loop. All I can do is install the stock firmware with odin. I've been on this for 3 days now, can anybody help me? That would be much appreciated. Have a nice day!

So far, only international variants(F and FN) are being built so we don't know if any rom will work on W variants. Maybe try GSI, they are almost the same but they mostly differ in vendor

I'm on it. I think I found one GSI rom that is working pretty well for now. I need this phone to do a very specific job. I prefers magisk 23 for this since I need magisk hide. So I tend to go with older version of android (10 or 11). Also, the lastest stock firmware was not really up to the task either (got many bugs) and I made the mistake to update my android 10 stock, which was working perfectly, to the last official version of 11, so no downgrade possible for me. I just need to find the right rom for my needs now.

Search XDA for the latest Frija Windows application version. Beyond that, sammobile.com is where I've pulled my provider's stock images for an upcoming downgrade attempt. You should be able find your provider's CSC easily enough elsewhere; you'll need it to pull the proper ROM.
@AliasGprime how did you unlock the bootloader on your A505W? I'm researching this and see only paid options to unlock BL and no one can reach the member who used to unlock.
EDIT: after several attempts, I did finally get the bootloader unlock menu.
Hi,
Just wanted to put this info out there for unlocking bootloader. ( This would wipe your data )
Model A505W
Steps:
Enable OEM Unlock
Power Off
Hold vol-up and vol-down and power button ( As per other tutorials and videos you have to attach charging cable but that did not work for me )
Follow instructions on screen
reboot ( It takes long to reboot as all data is going to be wiped )
