what do you think is better OOS or AOSP based roms
I mean with OOS you get everything working
so is it the same with AOSP
I would like to try pixel experience to get the pixel look which I adore
will there be any drawbacks ?
one last question where does google camera work better OOS or AOSP ?
thanks in advance

you are right the idea is that I want opinions
also I don't have sufficient time to try everything
so I want to decrease my options
OP, try the Pixel Experience rom and see if it has features / advantages over any drawbacks. No AOSP rom is going to be perfect; there will always be bugs - it's a matter of which features you can do with or without. For stability, the best option will always be stock OOS, and it's always there to go back to if flashing PE doesn't work out. GcamMod has come a long way on most AOSP / custom roms, but I still think stock OOS camera is better; others may disagree.

Nothing like that. Same in both. But trust me, whatever rom i flash after 1 or 2 days even the same day, i will revert to OOS. SOMETHING is better in OOS . Don't know whats that...
The only rom i used for more than 1 week is Liquid Remix. Now using OOS and no more Rom flashing.. Tired of backup and download.. In my opinion custom rom needed when the official support from OP ends...
Sorry, my English is very bad...

Exactly. Well stated, as clean flashing is a major PITA.
I've used several AOSP ROMs. I've had a good experience overall. Performance and battery is as good or better than OOS. A fully functional camera (including slow motion) is probably the most cited reason for sticking with OOS, plus OOS is really good software. A lot of people prefer it and they would even if aosp ran bug free with the same camera.
I think Google camera is pretty good but the camera isn't really important to me. That being said, I can tell the difference between a good pic and a terrible one. The stock camera on the 5T isn't perfect to begin with. If you prefer a little more customization I'd try a custom rom. You can always switch back to stock.

Its also good. Try it.. If u looking for customisation then Pixel Experience is not for you
Keep a full backup of oos. Try out aosp. Things are better, some things are worse. U weigh it up.
The ROM everyone's using is aosp extended with singularity.
It comes with the pixel looks default. Most ROMs do

I know the devs worked hard on it and for some it's a great ROM however for me freedom is dog ****
Never remove the icluded screenprotector. Just dont and avoid reading any news or user experience with screenprotection/ tempered glass. You will regret removing it.
Dont forget to make a backup before changing your rom also backup imei
Till aospa 7.0 is out use aicp nougat rom + latest arm64 7.0 pico gapps from opengapps you can also use ex kernel cm variant for nougat format data/cache to f2fs use viperatmos 5.5 if you use included root change selinux to permissive for viper to work. use nova launcher, neutron music player and buy powerbeats 2 and enjoy.
@Ahmed rahi thanks, i will remember that XD @nadejo so i will keep this screenprotector as u said and thanks for that tip with backup IMEI. About this headphones i will still use my HyperX Cloud but anyway thanks for your advice
I see it hasn't been mentioned yet: no custom ROM achieves the same camera quality as OOS. (there is OOS camera port, but some features don't work well)
That's probably the main reason people (including me) use FreedomOS - it's just debloated OOS, so camera is also the same.
Don't know what's Ahmed rahi's issue with it, but the ROM really isn't any worse or better than stock OOS, just debloated. And I'd say OOS is already a pretty decent ROM ?

Hey guys... I did little reading and found there are no noticeable bugs in custom ROMs. I just want to make sure if the custom ROMs are fully stable and has all the functionality of stock ROM.
Also will the FP gestures be present in custom ROMs? Also the most irritating question, VoLTE
Just want to make sure everything is good to go before buying one.
Sorry it this was a repeated question.

From what you said, it seems custom ROMs do have minor bugs... Obviously I'm not into such details, but then just asking...are there any major bug that might hinder daily run?

Hi,
I don't want to get into a debate about which custom ROM is the best. (The one you pick is likely the best for you right?) What I do want to get a handle on is people's experience with custom ROMs and Android Pie.
Is there a custom ROM that has done a better job at integrating the features of Pie after moving on from Oreo, and that currently is at an acceptable useful level?
There are a few out there currently, and they seem to have been working for a bit, but is it worth it to flash a daily driver to a Pie based ROM at this stage, or wait for awhile?
Thanks for your help,
Clay

Yah There are so many roms out there but i will suggest you to go With Pixel Experience
i have switched many roms from last 2 months But whenever i switch I have never get the smoothness that i get from PE
Latest version of PE (https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/development/rom-pixel-experience-t3830197) has almost no more bugs and it uses Android 9: PixelExperience_whyred-9.0-20181119-0216-OFFICIAL.zip
It's updated to recent security patches and works great.
Definitely usable for daily uses!
I'm using AOSP Extended Pie. So far, so good. It hasn't blown up my daily driver yet, so <fingers crossed>.

I'm using LineageOS 15.1 as daily driver. Yesterday I tried AOSPExtended Rom 6.0 and Havoc-OS. In my opinion AOSPExtended runs great but I didn't find an privacy manager like LineageOS. As second I tested Havoc-OS. Havoc-OS has implemented privacy manager. But In the Pixel Launcher in Havoc-OS I didn't find a option to deactivate the Google search bar.
But both ROMs looks very great.
OT: For my personal use, I don't want GoogleServices and PixelLauncher. F-Droid and Yalp store is enough for me. For my tests with Havoc-OS, of course, I replaced the Pixel Launcher with another Launcher from F-Droid.
Revolution OS Pie is very smooth and stable and has an awesome battery life
MCaosp best custom ROM Android Pie so far I have tested. Well-balanced. 120k on antutu and lots of drums.

There's 4 to choose from.
Lin17
Pixel Experience
Crdroid
AOSiP
The first 3 are based off LineageOS, and are also using the same sources from Fagyi, so they are all very close and I believe have the same amount of bugs, namely, SlowMo, SeLinux permissive and I think IMS - VoLTE.
AOSiP is based on AOSP. I would personally make nandroid of current ROM and maybe flash all 4. If you flash just the ROM, it should boot rather quickly and then you can run them stock for a little bit to get an idea of the ROM. You will be your best critic.
Whatever one you end up on, I hope you enjoy it!
Fagyi has been like a machine with all the work he does for our device, and also for kindly sharing his work with us, so I can reap the benefits and be able to work on crdroid.

Very welcome my friend!!
Glad to hear you will be giving them all a shot, I think they all are great and each has a little bit of a different feel, and MODs and everyone uses them differently, so it can be tough to suggest someone a ROM. I don't think PE has a dedicated 10 ROM thread ATM, sorry about that, but you are correct you will be able to find latest information in that P thread.
Here is what I believe is the most up-to-date PE 10 ROM.
I think this ROM is still in beta so possibly why doesn't have thread yet. https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261625110
If you give crdroid a go, always looking for feedback (both good and bad). Have fun and enjoy Android 10!
Pie ROMs are also more stable if you want to compare say crdroid P vs 10, or Lin17 vs Lin16

I went through several custom ROMs and ended at Android 10 crDroid. Even though most custom ROM devs now switched to Android 11 (R) development, from my experience the R ROMs are still too new and too buggy for daily use. A custom ROM probably won't help you save much battery, but for RAM management, you'll see massive improvements given how terrible it is on stock.

Almost all of the custom ROM available for Mi A2 lite is very stable and bugless. Ram management was never a problem in custom ROMs and battery life provided by customs is very near to stock ROM ( keep in mind the battery is very old).
Banking apps should work fine. But it also depends upon the app itself. You can pass safety net and app requiring only safety net should work fine.

There isn't a "best", your experience will determine which is the best for you. I have tried POSP, arrow, crDroid 7 and all of them are very stable and up-to-date. They differ only in customizations and such. Search what do you want and see the specific features of each ROM.
Battery life and stability cannot be compared across users and different ROMs. You can choose any one of the ROMs, all of then are very good for daily usage.
