Advanced Kernel Tweaks
The most-used Nexus 5x and OP3/OP5 utility, has arrived to athene.
· Introduction
All that you are about to read is based on THIS THREAD and THIS THREAD so go there and thanks @soniCron and @Asiier for it.
I'll go ahead and copy and paste some of the firsts paragraphs so those who don't know what this all is about can understand a bit.
I'm about to tell you how to get buttery smooth, lag-free performance with insanely good battery life, using an old school governor featured in practically every kernel... This tweak is applicable to every phone with any ROM or kernel--stock or custom--that provides the Interactive Governor.
Yeah, yeah... everyone promises good battery with great performance, but who actually delivers? Maybe it isn't as smooth as you want, or maybe it requires something your kernel or ROM don't support. Or maybe the battery life promises just aren't what you expected. There's always some awful compromise. Not here!
This isn't a guide to get 36 hour battery life... provided you never use your phone. That's deep sleep optimization, which is lovely and all, but what good is the phone if you can never use it?! And with the new Marshmallow Doze feature, this strategy is becoming a thing of the past. What I'm talking about is 7-14 hour screen on, actual hands-on usage times! Without compromising anything, you can get 7-8 hour screen on usage with regular, no-compromise usage habits: daytime visible screen brightness, both radios on, sync on, network location on, all the regular usage features, the whole kit and kaboodle... all smooth as a baby's butt and snappy as a Slim Jim! (Up to 14+ hours if you can stand minimum brightness and WiFi-only with a custom ROM and other stuff turned off! And this is with stock voltages and full frequency range--you'll likely get even more if you choose to optimize those as well!)
However, it should be noted that this does not apply to gaming, heavy camera use, etc. Anything that is an automatic battery killer in and of itself. There's nothing that can be done about anything that forces the phone to utilize its maximum resources all the time. But you should know that by now. Further, this guide is about optimizing the CPU as much as possible. It does not cover things like eliminating wakelocks so your phone sleeps well, removing unnecessary and battery draining stock apps, keeping your screen brightness down*, and all that stuff that's been covered in other posts ad infinitum. Those optimizations are up to you.
If you really want to know the principles of this tweaks, please go to this thread since there everything is really well explained and I know you guys just want to apply the tweak and forget about everything behind it, so just keep scrolling!

Thanks as always for the work and help Bry
thanks a lot bry !
will flash this tonight and report after playing with it for sometime
Nice! Works perfectly. Just what I was wanting to make my phone perfect.
Thanks guys. I cleaned this version up compared to the 443 version. I wanted a fresh start on this while maintaining the necessary goodies but not going overboard. Most of the additions to this version are under the hood.
Tried it and had problems.
1st boot up stuck at the HTC screen, I had to restart it, then it booted.
BT connected but had no voice, nor audio.
That's as far as I got before restoring.
It did work I just don't have the Free time at this moment to fiddle with the BT.
I have a concern y are u including gov like optimax in ur kernel when our board doesn't support thread migration?
which app would be best to control this kernel ?
i need to change wake gestures and disable logo2menu
thanks.

i must admit its a pretty neat kernel.
phone doesn't heat up much.
the charging time is definitely lower than other kernels I've used so far.
can't comment on battery life now. will use it for a couple of days more and report later.
thank you for your awesome contribution to the m7 community bry.
the battery readings are unstable. 56% since the morning.
i have been playing parking simulator games, using whatsapp, hike and still the battery % wont change. rebooted the phone and the battery was like 47%. rebooted again and it went back to 55%.
Not sure if that's the kernel. I would imagine that the battery drivers would be in the ROM no?

It probably has to do with a battery mod. As there are a few to choose from in nusense, something might not have flashed correctly. I had similar issues on bonestock when I tried flashing my ecliptic battery mod. Because he had a mod in there too show better history stats, the battery mod would hang in percentages....so just my experience and it is probably something similar.

I don't think that is the case since the same thing would be happening with the default kernel.
Been running g the stock clock for days now, before release even and my battery hasn't done that.

OK folks......This thread will contain TWO kernels. Let me repeat that "TWO KERNELS". One for the S6 Flat,
and one for the S6 Edge. MAKE SURE you download the right kernel for your phone. Or you will have some very
serious issues.
Both of these are built from the same source, just different config files. Both have ALL of the same features, tweaks, etc.
This kernel has alot of tweaks that can be adjusted by YOU. In order to change any of the kernel parameters you need
either 3C Toolbox, OR System Tuner from the Play Store. Also there is Synaspe.
I want to remind the Edge users........I built this for YOU, not me. I have NO USE for a Edge kernel. So it may be a good idea to at
least tell me Thank you for the time I had to spend just for yall. Lack of appreciation will bring Edge development to a halt on my end.
***FEATURES***
EPD1, EPH2 Sources
Synaspe Support
Built with Sabermod 7.0 Toolchain (optimized)
Compiled with Graphite
Linux 3.10.104

-A57 UnderClockable To 200Mhz OC to 2304Mhz
VMA Caching
Sleep/Suspend Patches
22 CPU Governors
11 I/O Schedulers
and a ton of other crap........
SYNASPE
OC/UC
CPU Voltage
GPU Voltage
GPU Overclock
HMP Threshold
Power Aware Scheduling
Live CPU Stats
Input-Booster
Thermal Control
HMP Voltage
I/O Tunables
LMK Profiles
UKSM
Dynamic FSYNC
Dynamic Dirty Page Writeback
Virtual Nand Swap
ZSwap Memory Pool
Kernel Entropy
Gentle Fair Sleepers
Arch Power
Google Play Services Battery Drain Fix
Wakelock Control
Audio Control (ie EQ)
Live Battery Stats
Battery Settings
LED Control
And more........
Keep in mind that this is a work in progress. Which means I will be adding more improvements for
our phones. Your job is to participate in my thread, my job is to give you have kick azz kernel.
Flashing either kernel is pretty easy. Go into recovery and flash.....Do not wipe anything. Modules
are now built into the kernel and not separate like back in the day.

Welcome to the G920F, just the competition I could use :crying:
Synapse:
- IO gives "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Default vlaue not contained in given values" error.
- HMP Little packaging: you need to add this commit or remove it from Synapse because it errors.
- Powersuspend: Autosleep and Hybrid aren't available, just returns to Userspace/Displaypanel
- Battery under "battery info" is full of errors where it says "no such file or directory" in your synapse/actions folder.
- Network: TCP Congestion control & Wireless wakelock timeout control has the same error as IO Default value not contained in given values. Also Wifi Power Mode, Wifi Dtim Interval have "Seekbar has failed" error saying there is no such file or directory.
- Security under Selinux Security Policy the same directory error
- Logs same.
- Info under ASV Summary the same
I have Busybox properly installed to system/xbin. All the other stuff worked. Tested it really quickly.

You can easily extract boot.img and install that with TWRP.
@TheSickness i confirm when i use headphones and bluetooth everything is ok but when i put my audio jack and after 20 seconds or less the phone acts like i put it out only happen with your kernel.
I've a problem. BusyBox installs itself to su/xbin path. It doesn't matter how hard I try on each boot, system/xbin/BusyBox gets deleted by something. I have to manually install BusyBox on each boot

waiting for a G925F official release
Thank You
Congratz on G920F release! I have a question.. Do you plan to add AOD sources in the future to your kernel? ?
I tried this kernel on Alexis ROM 7.1 and it sadly doesn't work! It gets stuck on the Galaxy s6 screen
PS: I have a 920F and it installed the right version
I'll test 920F version if somebody tells how to install without root.

I don't know what you guys are doing, but I have used this kernel with 3 different roms so far with no issues at all. They must be user errors rather than the kernel at fault. Check what you have installed and what tweaks you're making.

U touch Customizations will be added in the next buils.
Home button works, swipe works.
Holy Moly! Can't wait to give it a try!
Awesome work.Just flashed feeling venom in veins.
Viper Nougat was the one of smoothest ROM for our device. Hoping this to be as good as Nougat Viper.
Dude the rom is buttery smooth, but can you please enable thermal throttling or intellithermal in it, cause it still heats up to 82C on the cores and 48C on the battery

For now, do it manually
Is it based on zui Oreo as in kernel wise?
@amog787, would u try to collaborate with subrajyoti, heliox kernel developer, to design a similar killer kernel for oero as well.. Just a suggestion .. It was just perfect combo with viper

You mean using KA? I tried doing that on other roms, but the results are not that great, would wait for future releases. This one feature that all oreo roms lack except Zui oreo and but all nougat roms have it, and in my experience viper nougat had the best throttling system, like the battery never went past 43C even on charging and no lag with the phone ever.

Thermal MOD
MOD by Gustavo
Downloads-
Thermal MOD- https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=673956719939826882
Original thermal files- https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=746010030569960942
This is a modded Thermal file from Xperia XZ for out ZUK. This should theoretically improve your phone's temperatures and help reduce throttling and heating while gaming, charging and while the camera is open.
In Xperia XZ, performance was reduced even when temperatures were cool, so that is disabled.
Features-
- New sensor monitoring.
- It shouldn't go above 40°C (might go a little more than that).
Note- Some ROMs don't have this thermal file (AEX, DOT and some others), and that original file is extracted from ZUI 3.5.
If you want to report anything or want to know more about it, contact @Characteress .
The thermal mod is flash able zip right?
Wow Viper Oreo is here. The last nougat Viper build is still in my phone and I revert back to it for stability. Good to see that Viper Oreo development is on track.
Dude you rock, which of the two zips should I flash? Also for the next build can you increase the navbar icons size like viper nougat, the small buttons are slightly harder to press?

Hey guys,
The number 1 thing I care the most about my poco f3 is battery life and support of features such as Dolby Atmos, Gestures, MEMC etc.
So considering that, what is the best MIUI based ROM out of all of the MIUI based ROMs?
(Stock MIUI, XiaomiEU, MIUIMix, EliteRom, OneOS, MiGlobe, Hellas MIUI, MIUIVN)
i want to know too
Debloated Stock?!
Whats your problem with stock? Even of you don't want to debloat just turn on battery saving then 120HZ display.
This is debloated stock. Today usage And from this 6hrs around 1hr is LTE+ usage and brightness of higher than 60% (I don't go lower than 50 even in night)

Why is it better than MiuiVN or Xiaomi.eu if you can explain?
thanks
I have now had the EU as well as VN on it. For me, One has the best battery consumption.
Explain? The question of the creator was: Best MIUI based ROM for battery life?
For me it is OneOs
The consumption at night, for example, is always very gladly taken by me, since everything is always set the same and the use also. So the value reflects very well the consumption. With One 1%. EU min 2-4% and VN also

yeah you are right
should've added "besides battery life" in there, also what about SOT on oneos, how much did you get on it?
thanks again
Take every claim of "best battery life on ABC ROM" with a grain of salt.
Everyone has different usage. Different apps. Different enabled features.
I use Xiaomi.eu Custom ROM weekly. I'm happy. I use Always-On-Display (in permanent mode), Bluetooth always enabled for my Fitness-Band. Google Fit, Maps and Play Services Background Location enabled.
