Currently my OP3 has LineageOS 15.1 with installed firmware and modem from Oxygen Open Beta 32. Is it really safe to upgrade firmware to the latest open beta (for now it's version 37), as it is suggested at official LOS 15.1 for OP3 thread? Won't be there a problems with, for example, device encryption, which might be changed in firmware packages?
Always updating my MODEM and Firmware and never had problems.
I did try to flash latest LOS 15.1 today with latest OB37 and had an Encryption Unsuccessful error and could not boot, asking me to Format. I actually do not know what was causing the error as I did not try to troubleshoot, but it was the first time I was trying to flash any rom with the latest OB37. Don't know if that means anything.
I always flash OB31, it has better battery drain than latter ones.

Hi,
I am currently on LineageOS 14.1 on my OP3, I am on the March 9th build, and to do so I had to flash the Open Beta 12 Firmware + Modem. But now I am trying to go to either VertexOS or FreedomOS, but after flashing either rom, my phone is unable to connect to WiFi. It says that it is an Authentication Error and a message saying "Password may be incorrect" pops up on the bottom, even though it isnt. I have tried flashing 4.1.0 firmware before flashing VertexOS but that does not help either. But when i restore my TWRP backup to LineageOS, the wifi works normally. Is there anyway to fix this?
I'm currently running my OP3 on Resurrection Remix 5.7.4 (MM 6.01), the phone has the latest version of TWRP and I've flashed other ROMs in the past without any issue
RR has proven to be quite unstable for me, the system UI keeps crashing, which renders the phone unusable until after a reboot so I wanted to flash Freedom OS as that worked quite well for me previously. When I tried to flash the ROM in TWRP the ROM seemed to flash successfully but when I rebooted, only the boot logo showed and then the screen went black and the phone refused to respond at all for about two hours, after that exactly the same thing happened. I managed to boot into recovery and tried flashing a different ROM but the result was the same every time, the only way to get the phone to work normally was to flash RR again/restore from a Nandroid backup, either way, the result is the same, I'm stuck on an unstable ROM and I don't know why, the last time I flashed these ROMs they worked fine, I followed all of the instructions for flashing said ROMs to the letter, I have the latest version of TWRP, etc, does anyone know what the problem could be?
Have you flashed the latest firmware? If not, I think this is why due to you being on a very old version (6.0.1) and as you are not flashing official OxygenOS you are not getting the newest firmware.
Download and flash the latest firmware here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/radio-modem-collection-flashable-zips-t3468628
Pick the right one for the ROM you are flashing (For Freedom OS installing firmware Open Beta 14 - Firmware + Modem under 7.1.1 should be good.)
Note: After you have flashed the firmware the next time you reboot the phone it will appear to not turn on for a few seconds, this is normal while it updates, don't worry
Let me know if you have any questions

So I've been using LineageOS 16 for a while on my 'OnePlus 3' (not one plus 3t)
And with a recent update.
https://review.lineageos.org/c/LineageOS/android_device_oneplus_oneplus3/+/250172/2/board-info.txt
I was required to update my modem/firmware.
I probably should have done research on this firmware, as it messed up my data partition and I lost everything :'(
https://www.reddit.com/r/oneplus/comments/brvpey/psa_33t_owners_with_an_unlocked_bootloader_dont/
Anyway, I wiped everything, and reflashed the os and gapps,
But now I've found that my phone is not recognizing my sim card.
Wifi seems to be acting up too, and my phone would sometimes randomly shutdown (80% battery)
I got the firmware from here:
https://www.celsoazevedo.com/files/android/oneplus3-modem-firmware/
Stable9.0.3_Firmware_Modem_OnePlus3
Md5: 1D2297E0F62B33B8F20F4AC02C217DBE
And I even tried the beta, but both had the same issue,
So, I flashed the latest 8.0 modem/firmware, Along with 'lineage-16.0-20190615-nightly-oneplus3-signed'
and it seems to be working fine now,
no reboots+sim card working+good wifi.
However this means I'll be stuck on this os version, until they change the firmware requirement.
Anyone know a way to get 9.0.3 firmware working on Los 16.0?

Edit: (I wish I could rename this thread..)
I've done more testing with The newer versions of Lineage OS 16 , and this is what I have found:
* Later 'L OS' versions, with older modems also Don't work with my sim card.
* However, the newer modems/firmware work fine with older version of 'L OS', so it sounds like this may be a bug with the later builds.
* If you're upgrading firmware and you don't get the "Encryption Unsuccessful", but you still can't log in because your pin/pattern is not working:
1- downgrade your firmware.
2-disable your pin/pattern.
3- flash new Firmware,
4- now you can access your phone on the new firmware
* If you're having an issue where you can't access all of your internal storage "Not enough space to install app" or your file managers are not showing your files, Try one of the solutions here: https://www.reddit.com/r/LineageOS/comments/7k1thi/cant_access_storage/ 'Fix contents' worked for me
My whyred RN5pro come with global rom miui 10 with android pie I think ?
I unlocked the bootloader and flash PE pie latest version, it required pie firmware, and I flash latest pie firmware from https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com/firmware/whyred/
After usage for half year, I decided to use oreo rom, there's a few reason.
1. I thought always keep update will make it more stable and safe. But I was wrong, the more I update the PE rom, the more unstable it was. After usage a few days, it will freeze and need reboots, sometimes it slow on animation.
2. I need call recorder, but android pie restrict this function.
3. The latest build now come with wifi drop or something, sometimes my internet access is unavailable while my wifi was working fine.
After that I think a lot whether to use pie or oreo, and which custom rom suits my need ?
After reading and searching, and thinking a lot in these 3 days, I come up with a solution.
1. Because the pie keep get updating, it always got bug and some glitches stuff, and I don't have a lot of time and don't like to keep flashing new custom rom, I decided to use Oreo Custom rom final version instead.
2. After a lot of research I come upon RR, PE, havoc OS, liquid remix, lineageos, and decided on lineageos 15.1 final version as my custom rom.
3. Because I don't need a lot customisation, I think lineage os is the best for me, as I only need privacy guard, network traffic indicator, and stability.
So I changed to lineageos 15.1, here is what I do
1. wipe dalvick cache, data , internal storage
2. flash oreo latest firmware V10.3.1.0.OEIMIXM from xiaomi updater site
3. flash lineage-15.1-20180709-UNOFFICIAL-whyred.zip
4. flash magisk 19.3
5. flash opengapps pico
6. flash lazyflasher no verify opt ( ended up failed / error ) Because I read some user getting bootloop caused by encrypted phone or something, I don't know about this part, so I just flash lazyflasher as the instructions said for uncencrypted phone ( ended up failed / error ) ( I don't know if my phone encrypted or not, so I just flash it as additional file)
7. reboot, after getting in, it shows android encrypting, and reboot again, after a few minutes, I thought it stuck on boot loop, but finally it gets into the welcome screen. I tried reboot a few times to see if it stuck or not, but it was working fine. Tested the rom 24 hours by now, and everything seems to work fine.
What I want to ask is,
1. Does my step on changing from pie custom rom to oreo custom rom correct ?
2. lineage-15.1-20180709-UNOFFICIAL-whyred.zip Is this the final version of oreo lineageos 15.1 whyred custom rom ?
3. Sometimes I saw my sim network bar gone completely, but I can make call and check balance, and in the sim status, it show -100dbm and 99 asu. Is this normal ? Or is it because I flash wrong firmware or something ? Or is it caused by my area unstable tower network so the bar completely gone ?
4. Should I use pie or oreo firmware in this custom rom lineageos 15.1 android 8.1 ? Or it's irrelevant because the firmware is flashed by the lineageos custom rom ?
5. Do I need custom kernel ? And what's the best custom kernel for android oreo ?
Other than that, I am satisfied with everything it offers. Thanks for reading and replying.
1. Yes. I've never flashed lazyflasher though.
2. Yes.
3. If you can call, it's probably just very weak signal and the indicator goes off. Otherwise it's a bug in LOS, I doubt the firmware has anything to do with it (I'm on Oreo too).
4. Oreo.
5. No, but it wont hurt you if you try a couple - just make sure they work in Oreo firmware. I'm on KangarooX R4.4 and getting over 10 hours of SOT.
I recently upgraded the Motorola One Action LOS4M to the latest 4-7-2022 build and, after the typical LineageOS loading screen (which lingered an abnormal amount of time), it shut off on its own and was sent to the LineageOS Recovery saying the ROM was "corrupt," and to do a factory reset to possibly fix it. After trying that a few times (including a TWRP advanced wipe), I get the same result of being sent back to the recovery with the same message installing the Official ROM from LOS4M official site. Anyone else having this problem with this build, and any of the recent Official LineageOS builds (not the 'for MicroG' builds) so we can tell where the issue is? The previous build (3-21-2022) still works fine so had to downgrade to get the phone to work.
You should try the new 19.1 build and see if it works.
From reading the wiki, you should use "MindTheGapps".
If you're not looking to do that, isn't a way to use MicroG "rootless" (without flashing it)?
This could be a bug, as none of the builds are stable (nightly).
