I just received the phone, everything seems to work except for front camera. Back camera works fine but whenever I switch to front camera the app crashes and creates a log. I have tried changing setting for front camera, tried using open camera, checked permission. I don't know what to do. Any help will be appreciated!
Edit:- I have noted that camera setting can detect it as 8MP camera and I can change the setting for front camera, though it does not put any effect on front camera. The front did work for a second,
I managed to click a photo of it.

So, is anyone else having focusing issues when you get nice and close?
I've moved over from a Nexus S, which could get reasonably close to objects when taking photos and still manage to focus on them... but I'm finding the auto-focus on the One X simply refuses to latch onto the things I point it at.
Is it just me, a software issue, or can the camera on this thing not get that close?
A couple examples below. Red = where I touched, green = where it focused.
The remains of my SIM to micro-sim conversion.

My colleague's horrible banana (simultaneously less and more gross than you're expecting, but sfw)
Ugh, I'm not allowed to post outside links. Hopefully those images worked.
Edit: Score, they worked!
I have the same problem with mine. I can't get the camera to focus on close objects, even when setting it on macro mode.
I hope it's only a software bug that can be fixed.
JP.
Macro mode?
Hmm. Maybe I should look for that.
Yeah, I'm hoping it's something that gets sorted out in 1.28... whenever that comes out. Soon, please.
Me as well... Tried it today with no luck... It refuses to focus when I get really close... Tried turning on Macro "close up" mode and it still didn't focus...
I also just gave it a shot, no good. I'm going to be really sad if this is not a software issue
I've seen a ton of macro close-ups on the web shot with the x, look in the best pictures thread...there a bunch of nice macros...I agree though, the field of focus is rather small and inconsistent in some...others look fine. hopefully it does get worked out for all.
it should be due to the limitation of the F/2.0 lens

Are you saying the limitations with close-up shots is because of the F/2.0 lens?
Just look at the picture I included. Zoomed out looks fine, just a little over sharpened. The minute you zoom in, you can see the oil painting effect. You guys think this can ever be fixed?

I had this on my s5. Could be a software issue
Dumb questions but it appears you sent screen shots of the pictures.. Can you upload the actual files? It could be the screens over sharpening but may not actually be in the image.. Also the stock camera defaults to 10mp but you can up it to 13 to see if it helps with the detail.. Also make sure your camera lense doesn't have a smudge on it.
Mine is the same way, though probably worse. Very disappointed in the camera on this thing. Its all software related, so hopefully someone can find a fix.
I posted a few pictures (linked directly, not uploaded) of something very similar in the picture thread. Seems HDR is a very big source of the issue, and looking at your picture, its certainly an HDR image. I'm on to A Better Camera, and its a little better but not much.
For as far as you zoomed in I think it looks OK. I can't shoot now zoom later with the g3. ?

Well friends, this brings me something pissed and I just noticed that in environments with no light, when taking pictures with the flash in auto mode, these are blurred, as if use the beauty mode of the front camera xD or make a bad focus ...
This I noticed when comparing pictures with the flash in auto mode and the flash in Lantern mode as you can see the detail of the pictures with continuous flash is much higher than the auto mode ... NOTE: no matter which camera application use, the result is the same, I use the stock Sense 7 camera and also the of Google camera and even FV-5 ...
I Public this to know if I'm the only one, to rule out a problem with my phone and see if it is a matter of the rom I have 5.0.2 SD with sense 7

I would like to know how you are doing macro shots with no flash light environments, and if the same thing happens, I thank each of your comments.
Anyone?

There are known issues with the Sense 7 camera. HTC has recently pushed an update to the M9 to fix it.

I hope that's... soon I return to a sense 6 rom for testing, thank you very much.
Hi.
I have a Z5 Premium, 6.0.1 MM stock with a custom rootable kernel. Device is rooted and unlocked.
Recently i've started to experience a very frustrating issue with the camera, with no other app, just Snapchat.
The front camera works very fine, obviously I don't have the DRM keys but the kernel emulates the DRM key functions. The Sony camera app works fine with the front camera, no issues at all.
But when I open up Snapchat...
There's all sorts of green image tear in the front camera (rear camera works fine). The screen shows very bad greenish stuttering all over the camera tab, the story menu works fine.
It lags VERY much, stuttering to move from one place to another, I don't know where I should post so I thought this would be a good start, I'll try with Snapchat support as well.
same issue?

Hey guys,
I've had the OnePlus 3 for a wild 2 days and its definitely the best decision I've ever made phone wise. I like the camera, though it does oversharpen a bit, but the thing that really annoys me is how they have done the gallery with the camera. I'm not sure if they have a consistent system for when you are able to slide to see photos and when you cannot, but it seems arbitrary to me.
Basically, they have chosen to only allow the user to look at the pictures taken in that app session, which I can understand for some situations, but its a strange feeling when I open the camera app (double click home or launch app) and swipe to see my gallery and it just keeps saying No Photo. Seems like a strange departure from previous camera apps I've used. But sometimes, I open the Camera app and can swipe to any picture. I don't get the differences if there are any.

Anyone have a good rationale for it? This is not just me, right? Am I missing something?
Thanks and I hope to OnePlus with all of you in the months and years to come.

This is done to secure your data/photos in case someone finds your device.
When you open the camera app without unlocking your device by fingerprint (pin,...)
it does only show you the photos from the current session.
If you unlock your device and start the camera from the hoemscreen it will show you all your photos.
This has been this way on all my previous devices and also on iPhones for example.
What is weird is that it also shows no photo after unlocking when you open the camera app by long-pressing a navigation button
or double-pressing the power key.
edit: ok, after reading your post again I noticed that I basically repeated what you already wrote... I'm too tired :/
Same here. I was about to say this.
