Hello all
Apologies if this question seems stupidly obvious but I don't want to make the same mistake twice... I bought an S7 for T-Mobile and I think it's not supported by LineageOS just yet because it has a locked bootloader.
Does the Galaxy S6 Edge (SM-G925T) have LineageOS Official support? I see that there are roms currently being built under zeroltexx, but not sure if the T-Mobile model falls in that as well.
Thanks for your input

For those of you that have not seen this announcement yet (it's been out for a few months now) T-Mobile has confirmed they will work with Samsung in order to release an official release of Oreo for our device.

In light of other predictions about our device receiving this official update, take this as you will, I just want others to know this is what T-Mobile has said and it's most likely going to happen, even if it does take a while. This should also give confirmation of Oreo for other variants such as G928F and G928I.
Here is the source so you can see for yourself.

How abt G9287C?
Coming from a OnePlus3, which was easy to root and had tons of ROMs...
If I want the same with the S9, I need to buy the international version unlocked, correct?
Also I saw in the S8 thread that AOSP ROMs are not easily available, or still being worked on but OK for S9?
I'm looking for good hardware that I can root and debloat (titanium backup is a must for me and has saved me countless times).
I prefer the S8 because it is cheaper but not if AOSP is a problem.
Thoughts?
S9 has RMM implemented, long story short its a new feature of samsung that prevents you from flashing custom binaries (TWRP Included) to the phone for the first 7 days of using it.
Once you get your phone, finish set up wizard, connect a google and samsung account and wait 7 days for the OEM unlock button to appear. There are AOSP roms for the device, namely RR and Lineage OS.
I came from a oneplus 3 running AOSP resurrection remix 6.0 to the galaxy s9 a few days ago. I've been flashing phones for many years now, so I'm well versed in initially gaining root/custom recovery. This phone was a breeze to flash. The root guide in the tutorials section of this sub forum was great. Just make sure the usb drivers are on your pc and you follow the instructions exactly. I had resurrection remix 6.0 running on my galaxy s9 (exynos) in 10 mins after opening the box! [emoji106]
Thanks to you both. There are two international (non-US) variants - one with Exynos and one with Snapdragon.
Only the Exynos can be bootloader unlocked, correct?

I'm unsure about the bootloader abilities of the snapdragon variant. I only have the Exynos personally, which is unlockable.

Thanks. I got an answer in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...-g9600-bootloader-question-t3795978?nocache=1
There is no TWRP for the snapdragon international variant so I will definitely stay away from it.
Hello. I bought this phone since my Galaxy Note 4 SIM slot is destroyed. Is a pretty decent phone and it run good for all the things I use on it. But the only thing I am wondering is, If this phone will have Oreo Update? On some pages like GSMArena is mentioned that is planned an Android 8.0 update, but date is not given. So I wanna know if some others variants besides J250M (the one I have) has the update available.
And my other question is, is there a way to enable themes with/without root? Thanks to everyone who came and give me an answer though.
Same problem
Please help us get themes on this phone.. been trying to get since last year

The only reported information was in the Samsung Members of India, that Android Oreo would be rolled in January 2019 for SM-J250F.
In Samsung Members of Brazil, nothing was said of SM-J250M.
And also nothing is known about SM-J250G and SM-J250N.
It's quite possible that it stays on Android Nougat.

Without root, you can install Samsung Themes, but you can not install Theme Manager.
That is, it will not work.
With root, no tutorial has yet appeared.
Tutorials for the Galaxy J2 2015 and Galaxy J2 2016 (which supported themes but not the theme store) are not valid for it.
Hello everyone!
I noticed that Model XT1952-4 isn't a supported Model for LineageOS 18.1
Did anybody try LineageOS for XT1952-4 before? Were there any issues?
Wanted to feel out any potential issues before proceeding.
Thanks!
From here:
I'm running it on my XT1952-4 model right now, no issues. Actually, I'm running the microg fork, so maybe try that if you don't want to take any risk, but the mainline lineageos should work too.
IIRC, most of the differences between those models is just the network connection hardware, since they're made for different regions with different cell networks. If you're in Canada, the "-4" model is the correct model, and all the relevant hardware for the OS should be essentially the same as the officially supported models.

Mine is also an XT1952-4, I'm trying to get the bootloader unlocked (keep running into "Unlock data unavailable" in fastboot).
