Can anyone recommend a working adaway app or zip for the mix 2, I've tried several and it's not working. I am rooted.
Just download it off fdroid. You're rooted right?

Yeah I did, but it's not working. I've tried using the module from magisk and even with that it's not working.
I'm using the Unified Hosts Adblock Magisk module (available in the app repository). I have the systemsless hosts option enabled in Magisk settings. Then I installed Unified Hosts Manager from the playstore to enable it. Not a ton of options. But seems to be working. That being said, I am on XenonHD. It seemed to work on Epic ROM as well. But I was only on it a day.
I have a whitelist to allow 2 Google urls that seem to drive Google Play Music crazy.
no problem here,watch your permission

I did notice a issue in the past on stock miui using magisk 15.2 adaway wasn't working. Latest version is working now.
Take DNS66 from fdroid ... no root needed!
Works perfect for me since months
For whatever reason Adaway has stopped working for me on the EU MIUI ROM, there's been 3 weekly releases since my current version but I'm waiting on the Oreo release to bother updating again. It did work on the version before this but I only realised due to this thread it wasn't - just gave me a black screen on loading the APK to update the hosts file.
I've since swapped to the magisk unified hosts module like above and it works perfectly - wish I'd not bothered with Adaway.
I have a Globe Rom installed.
My first try was with magisk and adaway did not function.
Second try using SU without magisk and adaway worked perfectly!
Adaway worked for me on xiaomi.eu 7.12.21 with magisk

Hey I have a question that really bothers me that I cannot use Google pay on my rooted poco f3 with stock Redmi K40 MIUI ROM.
I already hide all my google apps with Magisk hide and tried multiple times.
I also read something about changing my device fingerprint using `props` command in terminal but I failed to find Redmi K40 or Poco F3 on the list.
Is there anyone who can help me ? Thank you ^^
You can try the package "MagiskHide Props Config" from the built-in Magisk repos.
There is a lot which can be configured with that package, but there should be no need.
The documentation is (thankfully, for an Android project) quite extensive.
I already installed it and I don't actually know what to do other than change the device fingerprint from there, which I can't find poco f3 in the certified device list.
So my question is actually: Is there a device fingerprint of POCO F3 that I can directly replace on my ROM and use?
I'm not an expert for this topic, but are you sure all the Google Play apps (Play Store, Play Framework etc) are working correctly?
The only time I had a similar sounding issue was when I played around with microG and Nandroid.
I might look more deeply into it if i find the time.
What rom are you using? Im on rooted miui .eu 12.5.2 and all works as normal.

I'm using MIUI 12.5.2 CN Version on my POCO F3, so my device isn't "recognized" by Google
Have selected magisk hide ,not hiding apps but Magisk itself? What version of magisk are you using? Are you using v23?

Can you pass safety net test? If not, try universal safetynet fix module by kdragon, it works for me. You should be able to use Google pay service if you pass safety net.
i can't even use DBS apps, no matter how i tried to hide it (via magisk) somehome it's still detect root...therefore no mbile apps for rooted F3... (in my poco f3)

how did you root your china rom?
flash gpay sqlite fix
Have you checked both options for hiding Google pay? Also, have you hidden the magisk app itself by renaming it in the magisk settings?
Once you done those things, if they weren't done before, you may need to clear cache/data from Gpay in order for the app start a 'fresh' and not be 'aware' of root - but that's just a guess... i don't use Gpay, but i've just tried it on ArrowOS with root, all i did was hide magisk app itself and hide Google pay from root as per image

You have to install magisk and multiple other things, but I made it work! Google Pay, Netflix, banking apps, work perfectly now. You need to install these modules for magisk:
- Shamiko
- MagiskHide Props Config
- Universal SafetyNet Fix
- If you want to use Google Pay install Gpay SQLite Fix
For props config you want to edit device fingerprint to an android 12 supported devices (i used pixel 5) and force BASIC key attestation (i used pixel 5 again). Then just use denylist on GSF, Play Store (im not sure if its needed) and any other app you want to hide root from. Make sure you disable Enforce Deny List. Then you can clear data from Play Store, GMS, and Google Pay (if you need it). Google Pay might not work immediately (took a couple of reboots to get it to work) and Netflix and other apps might not appear in the Play Store at first.
Good Luck!
Hey guys, has anyone gotten Gpay to work on lineage 19.1? I have done the following and have had very odd results. Firstly, I am passing safteynet and my device is registered as play certified in Google play store. I'm seeing where sometimes gpay won't open at all and when it does it says it is unable to load my payment methods.
Specs:
OS - linageOS 19.1 (latest build as of this post)
GAPPS - Mindthegapps (latest build as of this post)
Steps taken:
Installed magisk, enabled zygisk and rebooted
Installed magisk hide props module then rebooted
Installed shamiko module then rebooted
Installed universal safteynet fix (zygisk) then rebooted
Configured denylist in magisk checking GPS (all), and Gpay (all) rebooted
Changed device fingerprint with magisk hide props module to a certified one then rebooted
Additional steps taken:
I cleared data from GPS, play store and Gpay and rebooted
I tried a different device fingerprint and rebooted (clearing data like above afterwards and rebooting again)
I have done a complete fresh install of my OS and tried again from scratch.
I also tried seeing is renaming magisk would help at all, it didn't
It appears I'm getting nowhere with this. If anyone has gotten it to work and has some insight it's be greatly appreciated!
Nevermind, looks like it was an issue from having the pixelify module installed as well. After I removed it it started working just fine.

Hey deathblade!
Thanks for helping me out on the other thread.
Just wanted to check in, did you use the official build or the unofficial one with the Pixel Goodies? I'm intending/hoping to have full functionalities of Google Pay using the unofficial build, but from your post it seems that I can't have the Pixel experience if I want the ROM to work with Google Pay?

Not that I've found, however I did notice if you install the pixelify module then uninstall it, it does seem to leave some stuff behind. Like I still have the option to use Hold for me and direct my call. So it might work out where you can install it to get the things you want then remove it to get Gpay working

Ok so here is the breakdown:
Zygisk is not a module, but an implementation method used by modules. Magiskhide props is used to change the device fingerprint to a valid one that registers as protected by google play. Shamiko is for hiding root from Google play services, and Gpay (and whatever other apps may need it). Universal safteynet fix is used to help pass google safteynet checks (security). Not listed is the pixelify module used to add pixel exclusive features but of course with it install it cause havoc on Gpay and other apps so once installed it should be uninstalled.
TLDR
Yes all of them

Nope, I didn't. Other than the modules to hide from banking apps as mentioned above, I installed a pixel launch module here to make it for pixel-like: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/app-mod-pixel-launcher.4442077/
Other than that nothing else.
It doesn't;t work in the sense that it does not pick up music, even popular ones. The settings are there though, I can see them. It just doesn't identify any songs

I've searched XDA and tried all the suggestions, but I still can't get Magisk to open on my Tab S. It is rooted with Lineage 17.1. I downloaded Magisk V26.1, renamed it to a zip file and installed with TWRP. I uninstalled and installed 3 times and still no luck. I also cleared cache and storage. There is no hidden version of Magisk. Anything else I can try? Maybe an older version of Magisk? Should I try wiping Dalvik cache using TWRP and if so, before or after installing Magisk?
Thanks!

Thanks, but it looks like canary only supports 64 bit systems. What is the difference between delta and the official Magisk? And if my tablet is already rooted, do I even need Magisk?
You don't need the Magisk app any longer. But honestly, as long as it is rooted I simply wouldn't touch it anyway. Just leave as it is.
The newer Magisk version is rather suitable for Android 13 and younger. Doesn't need to bother you and for < A12.

I've Netflix installed on my SM-T805 (LineageOS 18.1) without any Magisk modules. Runs fine.

Thanks again, Toscha. I wonder if it is because I only have LineageOS 17.1, the latest available for my T700. Do you remember if you downloaded it from apkmirror?
Actually I'm not sure. At least in the settings for Netflix app it says 'Installed from Play Store'. Not sure though whether it's the same for apps installed from APKmirror.
I did that a while just for test purpose. Not using Netflix actively on the tablet. And yes, it might have been from APKmirror.
Cheers
Toscha
I appreciate all your help, Toscha. I'll try some other versions....though I think the one I used should work on the T700 processor.
Much obliged!
Hey Toscha, just wanted to let you know I got it to work. I was using TWRP to install but all I needed to do was use APKmirror installer app! All is good now
