ok lads ive bought the new amazon fire tv and was wanting to root it but ive been reading up and read the new firmware on the fire tv can not be rooted my version is , 51.1.50 515030720. could any one let me no if it is possible to even down grade fimware thanks

I have a Kindle Fire HD 8.9" running 8.5.1_user_5159720 Amazon firmware, now I want to convert it to Android totally. Actually, it was rooted and running Android with Nova launcher at one point before but then it got updated and lost root, I was then factory reset and now it's running Amazon OS as mentioned earlier. Now I want to completely turn it into a full Android tablet again. It has been so long that I cannot catch up with all the tools and methods. So can someone please point me to the right thread so I can start read up.

Is there a way to get to the latest rooted version. I'm thinking of unblocking the updates.

updated to 51.1.6.3_5160 through the regular method. not sure if there is anything post this firmware for aftv1
New to fire Tv. Just got the Fire TV 2. Can 5.2.1.0 be rooted and how? Only read lower version of OS can be rooted.
